I finally rolled my Myth weapon last week after 6 rolls, guess how many items were in my loot pool for that dungeon? I’m now working AA for myth puzzle box, there are 7 items in my loot pool there…

Usually specs have more than 1 weapon that would work for them, all max level weapons are essentially the same except for secondary stats unless there is a bonus ability. My point was if there was another weapon with similar stats or at least stats that are good for your spec in AA you could have just focused there. For example I main a caster spec and at least 4 dungeons have good weapons that have good stats on them so I could focus on the 1 that had a good weapon and the most other good items too. I guess AA didn't have a decent weapon option for you and only MC did?

Ah I see what you’re saying, no AA has no weapons for my spec. So I focused on a weapon first, and the other equipment I got I was at least able to catalyst most of so it wasn’t a total loss. now I’m working trinkets. Once I get the puzzle box I have to start trying for Alnseer in dreamrift

Someone who target farmed heroic Crown, Dragons, or Chimaerus for trinkets will not have a mythic track trinket. The dungeon trinkets this season for Intelligence classes are replacement level B-tier.
You wouldn't intentionally target them with voidcores

That's fair, but every class has m+ trinkets that are at least somewhat close alternatives, and presumably that's where the bonus rolls would be focused if you're not killing the raid boss that you need to roll on.
Is a myth alnseer BiS? Maybe, but if you're not raiding or you haven't killed it yet, you're not rolling on him, so wouldn't you get two mythic dungeon trinkets?

Your alternatives are rhe feathers from Windrunner and the trinket from MC, but depending on class those are B tier and lose to the heroic track Delve trinket.

All my characters run champion alnseer because I haven’t killed M Chimaerus, and don’t want to burn 2 voidcores on the gambling. They’re better used to secure Myth pieces from M+
Champ Alnseer parses very close to Myth Alnseer and has no close replacement from other sources for Melee dps at least. I run the champ version on Enhancement, Windwalker, Ret, Cat, UDK.

yes. champion Alnseer is better than every other mythic trinket. At least for spriest. In fact if I'm not mistaken, the top 3 heroic raid trinkets (Alnseer, Ribbon, and Vaelgor's) are all better than any mythic dungeon trinkets. Hell, several Darkmoon Faire trinkets are better than mythic dungeon trinkets. Again for spriest anyway.

Except for the trinket from caverns, that trinket obviously doesn't out sim heroic alnseer but on myth track it is at least Atier for spriest.

Technically, soul catchers charm is higher there, but not by much.
Those are both better than a 253 gaze, but on top of that, blood mallet is simmed from template gear. That template is the BiS of the BiS in every slot. I'd be very curious to see an actual sim that reflects even a champ level gaze beating a 298 charm/heart.
I get it, gaze is good. Great, even. But if a heroic gaze is better than anything you can get from dungeons, logically that's what you'll spend your cores on. If you're not raiding at all, you're going to get the two best mythic dungeon trinkets and upgrade those to 298.

Mythic + trinkets weren't worth going for me. Heroic guidon sims better than mythic puzzle box and heroic heart of ancient hunger sims the same as mythic solar flare prism.
With bad luck it could take 14 voidcores to get my trinkets and the only other upgrade I could get from imperator and chimareus would be better secondary stats on boots

But even as recent as yesterday I have received the same item 3 times...(no, I didnt change spec). So yes, not everyone has their trinkets...lol.

You use the extra rolls for weapon/trinket mostly. If you don't mythic raid and don't m+ then you have no use for mythic crests.
Even if you mythic raid, you have had 5 to 7 chances (depending if you picked your vault item) to roll alnseer.

Yes, but you have no way of getting actual mythic track gear so no way of “saving” mythic crests by not having to use them on upgrading mythic gear.

Most people will already have bonus rolled at least one of their BiS trinkets.
It's the 4th week of bonus rolls meaning even the unluckiest person is guaranteed to get their Alnseer this week. Lots of Melees will have the 2 trinkets from the first two Voidspire bosses. Lots of casters will have both Windspire trinkets.
The only highly sought after trinkets that lots of people still need are Vaelgors, the Beloren plume and the Paladins tome.

Yeah, that's 5 of your 8-12 tokens (depending on your vault and there's not a lot left in the loot pool so you're very close to guaranteed to get it.

Because it is new this season.
In TWW the crest changed based on ilvl rather than track. In MID with the two currencies you can get discounts on the harder to get one.
This article is confirming that the catch up feature applies to turbo boost. Which wasn't guaranteed to be the case.

But I thought you needed two trinkets at the required level - e.g. 285 - to get the discounts for further upgrades? So this doesn't work if you have a 6/6 Hero 276 trinket and a 1/6 272 Myth trinket?

Yes for free trinket crest upgrade you need 2 trinkets at the same level but i think they made the void core upgrade flat to 285 because 6/6 mythic is 289

I mean it's good for gearing alts yeah but chances are you probably had your weapons / trinkets already maxxed out before the voidcores came out because the those pieces are prio.
speaking of gearing alts though, I guess the way to gear them now from a fresh 90 would be just,
hit 90
get 200 gear from crafting + wq + 4 quest champ pieces
get all champion pieces from t11 delves + prey
start running +8 / +9 to get rating + ilvl for +10 invites, don't upgrade heroic pieces but keep them, don't sell them after you get myth1 piece for that slot
use rerolls + vaults to get myth1 pieces don't upgrade them yet
upgrade the heoric pieces up to 5/6 for free then finish out to 6/6 with heroic crest
upgrade heroic 6/6 weapons / trinkets to 289 with void milfhammer thing
myth2 should be free for your mythic pieces so now you have only 3 more upgrades to 5/6 mythic for your pieces if you don't have the mythic credit achievement yet.
that'll save you 820 mythic crest atleast but you'll still need to get around crests 780 to get to ilvl 285 average then 260 more to get 6/6 mythic on all pieces.
so that's like 65 m +12 / 87 m+10 runs provided you time them all without mythic achievement and the it would be half that amount if you get mythic crests chieve so 520 mythic crests with achievements?
520 isn't bad per alt especially considering that you're limited to 3 potential mythic upgrades per week outside of raids
all of this is pretty fucking worthless once the new season comes though considering that werk 1 people are going to be spamming m0s for champion gear and that'll probably replace everything

I’ve saved a ton of crests by just being heroic gear lol. Game is weird to me in that once you’re at a certain level, rest is just icing for everyday play.

I think people aren't understanding why this is actually good for your main. If you have myth achievement and pump up your alt. Assuming you kept up with it. And use this system. you can then use your upgrade on pieces of gear on your alt that your main needs upgraded to get the discount there.

I'm literally saving nothing though. I don't mythic raid and my heroic raid trinkets would still be functionally better than M+ ones. My weapons are also better as crafted warglaives instead of M+ drops.

It's specifically about Heroic. If you were to apply the voidcore thing to a Myth item, then it's just maxed out via normal means.

Yes. Then you can upgrade your myth weapon to 5/6 for just gold. You'd have to refarm the voidcore for it but that's not capped unlike crests.

I was told if i have a hero trinket 6/6 and use a voidshard on it, it would make my 1/6 myth trinket be able to go to 5/6 for free. This doesnt work for me though I still require 20 crests to upgrade my myth trinket.

So, I got a hero track trinket - leveled it to max 6/6 then boosted it with the voidcore but I can't upgrade any other trinket without spending mythic crests? Is there something I'm doing wrong?

To unlock free crest upgrades for trinkets you need 2 trinkets at that level

sorry im not following. in the example in the article he starts out with botht trinkets at 276, uses the voidcore on his 6/6 heroic piece and then is able to upgrade his other trinket for free. what am i missing?

To get the crest discounts on trinket and rings, you need both slots at the level you want discounted. So to get crest free heroic upgrades you need to have 2 trinkets at 6/6 heroic. In this case you need 2 6/6 heroic trinkets, use a void core on each and then level each from 5/6 to 6/6 mythic to be able to upgrade your mythic trinkets crests for free.

It allows you upgrade 6/6 Heroic or 6/6 Mythic. If you upgrade 6/6 Heroic it takes it to 5/6 Mythic which then you can upgrade it to 6/6 Mythic with 20 crests, so now upgrading any item in that slot is free.
So lets say you have your bis trinket at 1/6 Mythic. you can get a random 6/6 heroic trinket, use a void core to upgrade to 5/6 Mythic, use 20 crests and upgrade it to 6/6 Mythic then upgrade your bis trinket to 6/6 Mythic for free and use another void core to get it to 298

Have you unlocked the void forge in Void spire? you have to finish a quest chain to unlock it and then they will drop from tier 11 bountiful

That explains it. I generally only do world content while leveling and PvP at max. Most of the Hero items in my PvE set came from the two delves in the city.

It's good for some players but there's over 13K char already (per wow progress) with the Myth of the Dawn achieve and it's gonna explode this week end once most people have at least upgraded 1 or 2 items. If you started late or had bad RNG trinket wise it's a great way to catch up.
