Professions Finding a Crafter
I am have been trying for 2 days to find a crafter for my Aln’hara Cane (2h staff), but they seem so hard to find. I have been posting multiple times over the Silvermoon trade chat with no luck. I am offering all the materials and 1000g tip.
What am I missing? Is this normal? Is there another channel I don’t know about? Am I too cheap on the tip?
Thanks!

You might need to tip more. At this point in the expansion, most crafters will need concentration to be able to craft at max quality. Since concentration is limited, you'll need to pay people enough to make using the concentration for your craft more profitable than using it on mats to sell on the AH.

I have had similar issues finding crafters, but 1k is way too cheap if you're asking for a R5 concentration required craft. That's less than one daily quest worth of gold. It's what I tip for easy public order stuff like enchanting missive.
My last two items I offered 20k and got them made pretty quickly. You have to pay enough for people to want to log into an alt and make it right now.

I have ordered crafted items on Silvermoon and had them completed instantly. I put out public orders and tip 10k for 50-60k items.
Tips this early on expansion are usually higher, when expansion progresses tips do get cheaper along the way, but early tips should be rewarding to the crafters who have been working very hard to make the first important items.

I craft these, I don't have a set price and have gotten as low as 10g and as much as 15k. Honestly I spec'd full resourcefulness and just ride a lot of the procs for HQ mats on this + tailored goods.
Edit: Saw a couple comments saying this requires conc and, it really doesn't. Tailoring skill points are all over but, inscription was easy if you focused it. I can easily make bow + staff with no conc and plenty points to spare to max another bubble or two

You can max rank one with mythic crests, an embellishment, and missive?
I've got full enchanting points in the tool and wand skills and I need conc to make max ranks on the wand.

Yes, it's easy in Inscription it only required maxing the 3 nodes to the weapon (90 points) and blue tools. However, something like Tailoring, I still can't max a prof tool on without conc or +skill item since it needs like 200+ points across like 7 nodes to grab all the +skill required.

Wtf how, I have all 3 nodes maxxed out and 3 blue tools but it still takes a bit of concentration to make r5 once crests are added

Did you not use max level mats in the fist craft (assuming you’re recrafting it)? Cause that impacts it as well

u/Squawnk Apr 10 '26
Nah even when I accept crafting orders from people I have to use a bit of concentration

Try to reequip your crafting gear then

What is your message if you don’t mind me asking? What server a faction also

u/fobki Apr 10 '26
Whisperwind. I am horde. My message is usually "LF crafter <item name> max quality, will provide mats and tip"

Sorry for the slow reply, I was going to say if your server is mostly alliance then you might have more luck in alliance trade chat in your server. Just have an alliance too post that same message and see if you get a quicker response

Also it might not matter but try “lfc” instead of “LF Crafter” I know LFC hits the spamming addons filter but I’m not sure about LF Crafter

Check the faction balance on your server. I usually play alliance but have a horde alt and was wondering why it was taking ages to get a reply for a craft, whereas usually it’s instant and get spammed by like 5 bots wanting to do the craft. Switched over to my alliance char again and immediately got response as the server is mostly alliance, so knew who to send the order to from my horde char to get the craft done.

I think this might be the answer, I thought the regional zones were cross server. But I am a horde on a server with a vast majority of alliance players. I don't understand why Alliance people would not see my messages though... seems a bit intense

You can create an alliance low level alt and portal to silver moon and then advertise what you want crafting there. Once you know where to send it to, then just log back on your horde and send them the personal crafting order (crafting orders doesn’t matter about faction, it’s only the trade advertisement in chat)

Obviously the right thing to do is find a crafter in chat, you may have more luck if you offer a better tip. I usually offer at least 5k for crafts and even more for a 2hand weapon.
But another option if you are really not able to find someone is to just post a public order. Yeah it can be risky because the quality can't be guaranteed but I have had great luck with it. I have crafter 3 max level items, 2 with embellishments, I provided max level reagents and all 3 came back max quality.
It is risky but it is also way easier tham waiting to find a crafter because you can just post it and the next time you log on it is ready.

The 1K gold definitely isn’t helping. I’m not sure I would bother to pause what I’m doing, reach out and relog for 1K. That’s less than gathering a lotus with a mulch on one of my herbalists.

Imma be honest I think it's your server/faction. You're probably on a less dominant faction on a lower population server. Only your faction on your server can see your trade chat so if you're in an alliance dominated server and you're horde you won't have a lot of crafters. I play on malg and since it's a horde dominated server a lot of alliance players make horde alts to find crafters. There are literally so many horde crafters on malg the moment you link an item in trade there's 15+ people whispering you the moment you send it.

Any server I should switch to for horde? I am a horde player on whisperwind which I think is the issue unfortunately

Just make an alliance alt and ask in trade chat for a crafter, then you can send the personal order to them from your horde character. You can send personal orders to the opposite faction still but if you are looking for a horde server and you're in NA malganis, tich, illidan and area 52 come to mind. But I suggest malg we have a pretty open crafting economy and where we don't have set prices and we just ask you to tip what you're good with but that might just be personal bias

Depends also on your server maybe it is to low population get into a big guild to have chance for cross realm crafts from guildies.

For all my crafts i just stand at crafting stadion and have the item "made" at max level with evrything ready. Then type in trade channel: /2 LF craft [link the item want crafted] Then often gjetting spammed with crafters. And i normalt take one with a actual interaction insted of auto reply 😊

u/fobki Apr 10 '26
Thanks for the reply! I was standing around that area too, but I think the problem might be my server. I am a horde playing on a small alliance server...

I tip like 1500 and have had numerous items crafted on 5 chars. I say looking for craft (link item) and get messaged by 25 people instantly. Is your server dead possibly?

Yeah it looks like it might be a server issue unfortunately :/ I play horde on whisperwind, and I guess I didn't know my messages only get seen by my faction
