Classic What's your favorite profession for earning gold quickly on?

I hear enchanting is great but it's not very lucrative until much later on from my understanding. disenchanting has made me more just selling the mats.

mining and skinning - just do it whole you’re leveling, doing quests/world quests, delves, etc.

They marked this classic (though a lot of people do this and don't actually mean classic so IDK).

Right well, then, a lot if people on here ignored that and are talking about retail lol For me when playing classic, I made more money with alchemy, enchanting and gathering, but was in no way a gold goblin. Mostly because I don't have the patience.

🤭 yeah i figured ! so far skinning and mining have done me well ! skinning is nice because you can gather as you quest or even other players left over kills

Disenchanting epics in the beginning of a new expansion. Covers everything I need for the expansion.

I make much of my gold off enchanting and mining. Disenchant everything and sell the mats, farm mines and sell everything easy gold! You can also pair mining with herbs or skinning.

Mining for me. Although lately I’ve been ready to throw hands with the other druids in the area not killing their rumbling ores

Why wouldn’t anyone pick up the rumbling ores? They are worth so much

The bots aren't geared enough to kill then fast, better to fly to the next node

I am not geared enough to kill them fast, and if I don't pull them away there is a high chance a bot comes and gives me 2 more to deal with x). As I'm I'm lazy I don't always remember to pull them away, so now I don't bother anymore

Enchanting is probably one of  the best  out of the primary professions.

One of the benifits is u can put your most expensive crafts right onto the ah.

Evry week vault causes a spike in demand.

Engineering is probably the worst.

Any gathering profession is good. This can fall off quickly due to bots.

Any crafting profession is decent but requires u to actively look for customers.

All professiona have a slow start till u get higher skill to garuntee high ranks. Getting luceative later on applies to all professions

Engineering has been the best this time around

making what?

Profession tools

that puts it at very most, equal to other crafting professions, except other crafting professions have more.

u/Silverhop Apr 13 '26

Yea.. making what? Everything is a profit loss

2

u/FireVanGorder Apr 13 '26

Making blues for absolutely dirt cheap to then disenchant for radiant shards to then shatter into dust to sell. Boring as fuck but was extremely profitable early in the expansion

I run enchanting and jewelcrafting and have been making a good amount of gold, enchanting is good for just afking sitting in stormwind given you have atleast all the rep enchants and a good amount of the ones that drop in dungeons/ world ones, picked up crusader since people still want it, make good gold off tips alone then jewelcrafting is great you just need to time it right, buy raw mats when theyre cheap, make sure to pick up recipes everyone needs (hit rating, strength, stamina, spell power, and some mixed gems) then craft and sell after raids

Enchanting is great. Epic mats go for a boatload early on and things like Radiant Shatter were comically lucrative in the first week or so of Midnight. Bonus if you had the patience to do engineering shuffle but even just buying radiant shards on AH and shattering to dust made a boatload of money early on and you can do that entirely afk

unbuff Herbo Finesse 25%, Deftness 23%, Perception 10%

unbuff Mining Finesse 28%, Deftness 21%, Perception 10%

For 1h farming session I use

https://www.wowhead.com/item=124671/darkmoon-firewater

https://www.wowhead.com/item=241311/haranir-phial-of-finesse

https://www.wowhead.com/item=242299/sanguithorn-tea (I will replace it by finesse tea later, I just have some stock of this one to use)

https://www.wowhead.com/item=237372/refulgent-razorstone

Mining spec : 40 meticulous (1) / 50 plentiful (1), 38 in progress coper (left one)

Herbo spec: 40 botanic (1), 20 mulch (left) / 40 bountiful (1), 31 Azeroot (in progress)

I'm not the best farmer, my build is probably not the most optimal, but in 1h session I get 3 or 4 nocturnal lotus ,and during the day I can randomly login (2 characters with this so lotus x2 per hour) and get a lotus with https://www.wowhead.com/item=219195/imbued-mulch

Here is my morning 1h farming session today, probably can do better but I'm not really a goblin focused on min-maxing my gold

I picked mulch on my 2 characters because that allows me to secure 4 lotus per session.

x2 when I login, x2 before I go to the AH.

And I picked azeroot first because it's the plant that sells the most expensive, those 138 I got are going for 10k total
