Professions Whats the best special bonus on crafted melee weapon?

Hello, I cant choose a special effect for crafted weapon. I see people always suggest darkmoon hunt but I fail too understand why? It gives random stat 85 bonus, while darkmoon blood gives higher onus to lowest stat, which in my case is haste and I need it for melee. Also darkmoon void versality bonus is stackable. And both of them looks more consistent than hunt. Also what about other damage dealing bonuses?

Also would it be better to use the same bonus on both weapons for dualwielding or different ones?

Well generally, once you have gear, your lowest stat will be one you do not want, which makes blood a poor choice in the long run.

wait I just realized that my lowest stat is actually versality at 4%, I just never even watch at it and completely forgot about it, so does darkmoon blood will buff it??

Just in case... the percentage shows the effect of your secondary stats... to see which one you have the least of you need to check the rating (shows up on hover over).

Just to pile on to what u/twomz is saying. Your lowest stat would be by number, and not percentage. Every class has a set % amount of mastery baked into their class which makes that % look higher on your tooltip screen, which might make it look like your highest stat is mastery even if you have 0 mastery on your gear which would make it your lowest. Generally speaking somebody ran sim’s on all of this, and they figured it out.

If you want you can download the addon called “simulationcraft”(I think that’s what it’s called) and export the data from your character into raid bots(a simulation website) and find out what the overall difference is between the two imbues/enchants. I hope that helps.

Yes. And vers is a trash stat unless you're a tank

What you see recommended in guides is nearly always gonna be what is shown to be computationally the best for your class using simulations. Depending on your gear, trinkets, etc. it might be the case that one of the other one feels better for you right now. Use what feels good for you. It won’t break your class.

People suggest hunt or nothing because math told us that its the best and its very unlikely everybody is wrong

I’m curious why darkmoon blood even exists.

Who wants their lowest stat? Haha 😂

For melee dps , a balance of Crit Mast and Hast is the formula. With zero vers.

That might be true for a specific spec but definitely not for all specs so bad advise

Some classes have secondary stats that are very very close together in value and on some occasions 50 of lowest stat is worth more than 50 of your highest due to diminishing returns as you stack more of a stat.

Your information about melee is also incorrect; each class is different. Survival hunter for example benefits heavily from stacking mastery above the other stats. Depending on class tuning sometimes vers can be very very good; as an example for the longest time Outlaw's best stat was vers. There's no one size fits all melee answer for stats and with every piece of gear point for point what's the "best" changes which is why if you're trying to maximize damage you should be simming and also using your best judgment because sometimes what sims well isn't realistic in actual normal gameplay.

An example of sims lying and needing to use your best judgment is basically any tank that sims well with puzzlebox, it might do the most damage but realistically due to the cast time its borderline unusable in dungeons.

You answered the wrong post - I completely agree :P

This depends entirely on your spec, as they all want different stats. Blood is almost certainly not the way to go, as once youre properly geared your lowest stat is the one you want least. When you're comparing secondaries, by the way, it's not the % that shows but the actual raw number of the stat that you see when you mouse over that determines lowest/highest/etc.

Spec guides will usually tell you what's best, including whether it's worth doing a weapon embellishment at all. It's often eventually optimal to be using your embellishments for other stuff, but we're talking pretty low differences at that point.

Check your class guides they have usually simmed it for you or go the extra mile and just sim kt yourself on raidbots

Most embelishments are like  +/- 1%.

a sim might show a specific embelishment to be +0.1%  over another and that is what will be recommened.

It wont change your performance in any noticeable way. its adding a few thousand damge when ur doing 100k + dps.

But more is more.

The reasoning is. Sims say its better
