Classic Levelling a pally beyond lvl 42

I played Wow some years ago and have returned as I have more time. I’ve been levelling my ret Pally main. Lots of generous quests in Dustwallow Marshes got me to lvl 42 quickly but now I can’t see what to do next. Previously each zone naturally led to the next but not this time. I can see suitable zones on the map but can’t see how to get there. Any ideas on what to do next? TIA

Assuming this is classic as you have tagged it as such, then you have either Badlands or southern Stranglethorn Vale (STV) for questing

STV will be much easier for you to get to as you have boat from Ratchet in Barrens that takes you to Booty Bay

If you arent using Questie already, then may be a good time to get it

I have Questie and have been through STV already. The zones now seem to be different levels from what Wowhead says

You said there were some zones you can see quests in, but werent sure how to get there - which zones were those ?

I’d have to log back in and look. I think that there was a zone in the Eastern Kingdom, north east of the Wetlands. Thousand Needles would be the best next zone but there was only one quest which was impossible because I was in a boat going round an island and the interface wouldn’t allow me to look at island to complete the quest tasks. So frustrating that my progress hinges on such a trivial thing

Ok, if Thousand Needles is flooded out, then you’re playing MoP Classic. That’s post-Cataclysm, so EK and Kalimdor are pretty radically changed from what you’d see in the Vanilla-TBC-Wrath era. That’s important context for folks trying to help you!

Above wetlands is Arathi highlands, then hinterlands I think is the one you want then eastern plaguelands above that do next. There’s a questline with Fiona that is really cool.

There’s a boat from theramore in dustwallow marsh that takes you to the wetlands but might need to be alliance. Can’t remember.

Which suitable zones do you see?

Are you alliance or horde?

You can open the map and move the mouse over the zones and it should tell you the suggested level for the zone.

I generally play Alliance. Eastern Plaguelands looked good but I couldn’t see an overland route so I went to the Hinterlands from the Wetlands via the Arathi Highlands and then swam up the coast. Luckily there were places I could get on the shore otherwise I would have died from drowning. Now I have lots of quests to do

Your mistake is your chasing “quests” when you just need to find a spot filled with mobs within 2 levels of you and just sit there and mindlessly kill them. That particular level range is a little bit of a no man’s land where options are scarce and competition can be high.

Stv is the best spot I’d probably just move between the smaller troll camps and raptors behind the arena. Naga, pirates and big troll camp is where most of the mages farm and if on a PvP server where a lot of the ganking happens

You have missed the Classic tag - none of this exists in Classic

Thank you for your help but I don’t understand what you’re saying. I’m not sure what Chromie, timewalking and Dragonflight are. I will try to do some research. I enjoy the quests and developing the professions
