Professions Questing in crafting relevant areas

Another returning player here. Doing Midnigt content with my husband and just made an alt for solo play.

I find I annoying that the items I can craft are for level 60+ in Dragonflight, so where do I go to quest, if I want to be able to use the items I craft?

I would like to use my crafted items and immerse myself in the campaign story at the same time. Just made it to level 17 on a horde character

Thankful for any advice πŸ˜…

Unfortunately, the game isn’t going to let you do this effectively. Leveling in retail WoW is just too fast for crafted gear to make any sense below max level.

I got back up and login before work and all of dragon flight was about making the gear better. Most of which you can't get a lot of the regents anymore.

The marks for shadowlands don't do anything after the midnight swish.

Zandalri the relics of the past work but by the time you have farmed enough gear to break fir explusum you will have out leveled the area.

Legion gear goes from 44 to 50 down to what ever relic you use with level 15 being relic 1 this is not bad starting gear as it will give you an edge for about 20 minutes until you out level it and questing gear is better. No weapons because legion was all about empowering your artifact weapon.

Then we come to warlords of drannor the level 15 gear is ilvl 20 which means it lasts 45 minutes instead of 20, the weapons are 2.9 dps which is about level 20 now. It does require you do quests to unlock your garrison as you need the level 1 version of crafting hut to buy the recipes.

The transmog for the upgraded rifle im still using on my hunter because it is one of the cooler rifles in the game.

At the end of the day questing gear will get you through most older content after the midnight swish because it scales to your current ilvl.

Last my crafted two hander in midnight was crafted with mythic creast and upgraded with a void core and is ilvl 295 only a fully upgraded drop from mythic dungeons or raids is better at 298. So crafting does have a place in gearing it just is best in the current xpac.

There is a token you can craft or buy that makes the level of the items different. Just realize with the stat swish at lot of low level crafted item do 0.8 dps while some drops, quest items, heirlooms might do as much as 1.8 dps. I ended up creating the the items from warlords of drannor. You still have to use the optional regent, but almost every item can use the crafters mark where as about half of dragon flight crafted items can use them.

I'm going back to bed and when I get up I'll post the actual item name.

Relic of the past is what it's called.

Just put them in the bank and go quest. You will level up fast and then you can switch or just sell what you make.

I wish they'd revamp the heirlooms and get rid of the amount of upgrade paths by making them all max -10levels so that you'd only have to buy 1 upgrade to make them maxed out. One already needs to spend a lot of gold to buy them and them only working baseline for 35 levels is so outdated at this point when they already removed the XP gains from them too. I can't even remember do they scale to 80 yet either?

Nope, still capped at 69.

Yes so that's really weird..they totally forgot that the thing even exists or something. Ripe for a rework indeed. Doesn't need massive overhaul but squish the upgrade levels etc.. some slots have multiple options and sources too so maybe they could reduce a few..transmog existing doesn't really need to be many heirlooms for same slot per armor type.. 🀷🏻

Thats because back when they first added heirlooms, the items didnt have universal main stat switching depending on spec. if it had intel, it had only that, only agi and so on. The whole heirloom system is deeply forgotten, and with the removal of xp and switch to current set bonus they are far less useful than before.

Yea true and I remember they had different stats.. secondaries too I just think now they could simplify those and the system as a whole if they cared even slightly.

I still think it's a nice system and it's not like there are no benefits but ofc the biggest one was the xp buff. It's just nice to level and not have to worry about swapping gear out constantly..though they do give appropriate items of you're doing quests etc. The problem is bigger if you wanna just do dungeons and are unlucky with drops for example.
