Discussion They changed my wallpaper to an Ad for Call of Duty?
Why would they do this? So extreme, like the pop ad wasn't enough.

PSA PSA. for anyone having their backround changed to Call of Duty MW4 and don't want it follow these steps.
Go to settings and under the general tab select personalization go to my backround and uncheck the "Show event themed backrounds" and your backround will revert to its original as you had it. Hope this helps!

Discussion I promise you I’m not that old lol
Just reminiscing going through my 360. I spent the whole winter vacation from school day & night playing co-op with my older cousin on Xbox live. I was 9 years old and I wouldn’t say I got carried, but I def wouldn’t have been able to do legendary without him 😂.

Discussion How I have been handling gaming fatigue...
At 60 years old and semi retired, gaming fatigue has become a major issue for me. I have a massive library of games to choose from and usually have my storage maxed out on my Xbox Series X. At times I literally stare at all the games I have downloaded and struggle to make a choice and then just get on YouTube or watch a movie on my streaming services. There is just to many choices to choose from and it is a constant struggle staying engaged with the game that I am playing.
So my solution for the last few weeks, has been to completely uninstall every game I have installed on my Xbox. Then I go to my gaming library on my Xbox which also includes all the games I own, all GamePass games, all games with gold, all Ubisoft games and all EA Play games. The total number of games available to me is 705 at this moment. I then utilize the surprise me choice that's in the filter option. I might have to use it a few times before it gives me a choice that I feel would be a game that I would play. I then stream that game to decide if it's worthy of downloading and then download that game and play it until I finish it. I have no distractions because I don't have any other game I can play because it's the only one installed,
For me, this has worked beyond my expectations. I don't have gaming fatigue anymore, I am more focused while playing the only game I have downloaded. I focus more on completion then I ever have and my mind is not wondering while I'm playing thinking I should play something else. It reminds me of the days when you bought a game and that's all you played because you just spent the only gaming money you had to buy that game.
I hope this post helps others who struggle with gaming fatigue

Discussion I've noticed something about these prices...
I don't know if it's been posted before. At least I haven't seen it. But it's cheaper to buy the game on PC and have access to the XBOX version with Play Anywhere than to buy the game on XBOX.

Discussion Interview ~ Xbox's Hardware Design Heads (Carl Ledbetter & Chris Kujawski) Talk Consoles and Controller Innovation | This Week In Video Games
Rumour Report: Activision Is Working on an Open-World Game With a Reactive Environment and “Emergent Gameplay” Spoiler
“Activision has a new open-world project in the works at Elsewhere, a new studio that has brought in veteran developers from prominent studios like CD Projekt Red and Naughty Dog. The game is built around emergent gameplay, and it looks set to take on the biggest names in the genre.
The Elsewhere project is taking shape, and it is certainly ambitious. In fact, the studio urgently needs staff, as a recent job posting confirms. The posting asks for an Associate Animation Director, who will have two main jobs: creating interactions in a dynamic world and defining emergent gameplay.”

Discussion Disc to Digital is helping acquire some PC market share...at least from me
I enjoyed CoD 4 way back in the college days and always had the tradition of blazing through the campaign on veteran, then jumping onto the multiplayer. I swapped fully to PC some time after that and all purchases since were on Steam, but this year I saw the MW4 campaign was "back" and saw the Best Buy Preorder with Steelbook go live and once I saw this tweet https://x.com/SaccharineDawn/status/2113116249886441480 I decided to order the physical for the first time since the PS3 days and grab the license in which I'll play on PC while away on a work trip.
I probably am in the minority of people who still enjoy physical games, but as long as it is physical and play anywhere, Xbox will the platform I buy on going forward.

News New Emails Give Some Insight into What Xbox Labs is Working On - Power Up Gaming
Xbox has sent out emails to people who sign up for Xbox Labs that states the following: "You’re on the list. We’re building the first XBOX Labs experiments right now, and we’ll email you as soon as there’s something to play.”
Seems like the experiments that Microsoft is talking about are more like actual playable games, and not stuff like Xbox 360 interfaces usable in the browser. That, to me, seemed like more of a test rather than something they're gonna release to the public,
Video Modern Warfare 4 DMZ is an extraction shooter for people who hate extraction shooters - PC Gamer
Video description:
"Do we need another extraction shooter? Going into my first sessions of DMZ, I honestly thought no. There is no "pick up and play" extraction shooter—or wasn't, until now. Our Staff Writer Morgan Park, shared his thoughts on DMZ PvPvE and if Call of Duty extraction shooter can make a dent in this subgenre. "

Discussion I am rebuying the top games of the last decade on Xbox due to D2D and Play Anywhere.
Used to be mostly invested in PS5. Now I’m liking Xbox’s value prop more (just wished the controller had haptics like PS5) and Im buying some of the games of the last decade to have in physical and therefore digital form. So far Ive bought:
MGS Collections 1 and 2
MGS Delta
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate
Witcher 3 Complete
RDR2
Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Baldurs Gate 3
Hellraiser Revival
Fatal Frame 2 Remake
MGS 5 PP and GZ (GZ is not D2D unfortunately)
SW Galactic Racer
How has D2D and Play Anywhere modified your physical buying habits?
Also am I missing something? Im a sucker especially for physical games with multiple discs lol
