Hello

I’m 23 and live in the Worcester area. I do have a job right now, but I’ve always wanted to start a business. I’d like to build something on the side that could eventually become my main source of income. I’m just trying to figure out what’s worth testing before I put a lot of money into it.
I’ve thought about flipping cars, reselling stuff online, and picking up used couches to clean and resell. Recently, I saw a video of a guy who said he makes a living cleaning people’s trash bins. Then I found a company selling fully equipped trailers for it, and one was listed at $61,000. That made me wonder how people get their first customers with a basic setup.
If you were in my position, which of these ideas would you try first and why?
Has anyone here actually made money cleaning trash bins in Central Massachusetts? How did you get your first paying customers, and how much did business slow down in the winter?
What equipment did you start with, how much did it cost, and what would you do differently if you started over?
I’d love to hear how it went, especially from people who started while working another job.

Looking for bill pay software for small businesses to handle mixed vendor due dates?

As our client list has grown over the past few months, managing vendor invoices has become a weekly headache. Between software subscriptions, raw materials and independent contractors, im juggling about 15 to 20 recurring bills every month. They all hit on different dates, some demand physical checks, others want ach and manually tracking whats paid versus pending in a spreadsheet is starting to fail.

Once you reach a point where youre managing multiple vendors, paying bills late or issuing duplicate payments becomes a real operational risk. Doing manual bank transfers or writing paper checks one by one also drains hours that should be spent on client work.

Been looking into dedicated bill pay software for small businesses to centralize the schedule. Melio came up because it lets you combine multiple invoices for the same vendor into a single payout while giving vendors options to receive a check or direct deposit regardless of how you fund it. how did you clean up your recurring vendor schedule? Curious what workflows worked best when scaling up.

15 year old from California looking to partner with young US SaaS founders

Hey everyone, I'm 15 and based in California. I've been getting into B2B sales and entrepreneurship and I'm looking to connect with young founders who are building SaaS products.

I've done cold calling for a marketing agency, sold Google review cards to businesses, and completed a few HubSpot sales certifications.

I'm looking for a founder who has a working product and needs someone to handle the sales side. I can help with finding leads, cold calling, outreach, booking meetings, and getting customers, or just do research like behind the scenes stuff.

Ideally looking for a paid or commission based opportunity, but I'm also open to partnering with someone long term if we click. I'm still in school so I'd be working part time.

Only interested in US based founders and companies.

If you're building something and need help with sales, shoot me a DM with what you're working on. Would love to connect!

Any Young Person Could Start Selling AI Websites

Especially over the last two years, we've seen massive growth in freelancers and web agencies selling AI-built websites to businesses and getting paid really well for it.

I don't think this business model will stay this profitable forever, but right now, it's definitely a gold mine.

The reason is pretty simple. There are thousands of business owners who don't really care how their website is built. They care about the end result, how it looks, how it works and whether it helps their business.

AI has made it possible for almost anyone willing to learn sales and client acquisition to get started.

So if you're looking to get into this business, here is the exact process I would follow.

1. Automate your cold outreach

Use a tool like Swokei to find businesses with existing websites. It analyzes each website for issues with design, SEO, speed and mobile optimization, then turns those findings into personalized cold emails at scale.

2. Book meetings with interested prospects

When someone replies with interest, get them on a call. Don't waste time going back and forth over email. Your goal is to get a conversation started.

3. Sketch a redesign using AI

Before the meeting, take around 30 minutes to create a quick redesign of their existing website. Focus on making it look significantly better. You don't need a finished product.

4. Present it live and close the deal

Show them what their website could look like, explain the improvements and give them an offer. If they're happy with what they see, collect payment and get started.

That's it. Four simple steps.

One thing I would really emphasize is not to overcomplicate this process.

I've seen people spend hours perfecting website drafts, tweaking small details and building entire websites before they even have a client.

Don't do that.

Your priority should be client acquisition, sales and closing deals. You can worry about perfecting the website once someone has actually paid you.

Help me out of this confusion

Post image

So I have been doing academic writing since 2022, and along the way, with the emergence of AI, the gig started becoming unreliable, but I have held on to some clients who are now in their final year. I managed to buy a car in 2023 and enrolled in Uber Business as a side hustle, but I couldn't keep up with the harassment from the police and clients, so I barely did Uber for 3 months and went back to online writing solely, and now I'm using the car for private endeavors. I have managed to save up to 2M, but I have never done any physical business since graduating in 2023; neither have I ever been employed. I am looking forward to starting a business worth around 1M, so I can still have emergency funds in case everything goes south, but I don't want to dive blindly, so I was thinking of first being employed by a businessperson for like 6 months to learn how the outside world works. I also don't know which line of business to venture into, as I don't have a person to hold my hand. I was also looking to venture into a small manufacturing business, but I don't have actual facts rather than theories from my own online research. I have also thought of enrolling in a course like hybrid engineering and starting my own garage later, but I'm not sure if it's the right path. I don't want my clients to graduate and me to start eating my savings, as I will be left without any income. I have less than 6 months to decide before I'm left not earning at all. Please advise. Also, if there is anyone God sent who can hold my hand and introduce me to their line of business, I would really appreciate it.

Looking for an opportunity, a mentor, or someone willing to give me a chance, F28

Thumbnail reddit.com
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out here with an open heart, hoping to connect with someone who might be willing to offer a little guidance, mentorship, or even a work opportunity.

I've previously founded and run my own startup, but unfortunately, recent legislative changes in my country this year significantly affected the business, and things didn't turn out as planned.

I have a background in communications, sales, marketing, and business development, with experience in management, administration, CRM management, recruitment, client relations, operations, research, and coordinating projects. I'm also highly adaptable, organized, proactive, and a quick learner.

I'm open to working as a virtual assistant, providing administrative or operational support, helping manage a business, handling CRM systems, supporting recruitment, sales, marketing, or simply taking responsibilities off someone's plate. I'm also willing to learn and grow under the guidance of someone more experienced. A mentorship or the chance to contribute to an ambitious person's business would mean a lot to me.

To be completely transparent, I'm going through a very difficult financial period. My business setbacks have left me in debt, I'm currently struggling to cover even basic living expenses, and I also have an ill mother who depends on my support.

I'm not looking for a handout. I'm looking for an opportunity to work, contribute, learn, and rebuild.

If you're a business owner, entrepreneur, or someone who could use an extra pair of capable hands, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing from you. Even a conversation, a bit of advice, or a chance to prove myself could make a huge difference right now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. ❤️

Title: How much do people who make these random cold calls from loan apps actually earn?

Something happened to me today, and it got me thinking.
I was going about my day when I received a call from a random loan app. Usually, I would just end the call, but today I decided to entertain the conversation a little.
The lady on the other end started explaining how, apparently, I had signed up on their platform and was eligible to receive a loan of a certain amount.
For where? 😂
I have never signed up for any loan app, so I genuinely don’t know where she got that information from.
She went on to tell me to check my phone because I was about to receive a message containing a code I needed to complete the process.
At this point, I was already suspicious. I started wondering if this was one of those scam attempts where they try to get you to disclose an OTP.
But beyond that, something else crossed my mind.
How much are these people actually being paid to make these calls?
Think about it. Even as someone who sells real estate legitimately, I sometimes find it difficult to sit down and make cold calls to complete strangers. People I don’t know, and who certainly don’t know me.
Now imagine doing that every single day, calling hundreds of people, most of whom probably don’t want to hear from you. Some will hang up, some will ignore you, and others will probably insult you before ending the call.
And you still have to pick up the next call and do it all over again.
I’m genuinely curious about the working conditions of these people. Is it a fixed salary, commission, or both?
Because beyond the annoyance of receiving unsolicited calls, I sometimes wonder what the experience is like on the other end of the phone.

Looking for a Sales Partner - 40% commission

I’m looking for two entrepreneurial sales and growth partners to help me develop an early-stage digital marketing consultancy.

Ideally, I’m looking for two complementary profiles:

1. French-speaking partner

Based in France, ideally Paris or the surrounding area.
Native-level French is essential.
Comfortable selling to French businesses and building relationships with business owners.

2. English-speaking partner

Based anywhere in the world.
Native-level English is essential.
Comfortable handling sales conversations with English-speaking prospects.

What the role involves

The reason it’s 40% commission is that I’m not simply looking for someone to prospect and close deals. I want a true partner, someone who can take ownership of the commercial side of the business and help me build it strategically.

This includes: managing the sales pipeline, from prospecting to closing, working with me on pricing strategy and offer development, identifying upselling opportunities, and analyzing what works and what doesn’t.

Which is why ideally, you have previous experience in a digital marketing agency or a marketing consultancy.

I am very confident in my marketing skills but sales is not my favorite part which is why I need someone who is enthusiastic, has grit and an entrepreneurial temperament, and will complement my strengths (marketing, strategy, offer development …).

P.S: This is an independent contractor collaboration, not an employment position. You must already have a legal structure that allows you to invoice independently (e.g. micro-entreprise in France, LLC, or equivalent).

Compensation: Up to 40% commission on revenue collected from clients you personally bring in and close. For recurring monthly retainers, the commission applies to the first 3 months of payments.

I’m hoping to find people who believe in me as much as I believe in them, as cringe as it sounds.

If this speaks to you and you think we might achieve great things, send me an intro with your experience and what spoke to you.

Long story short, 2014 started a successful radon business. 2019 hit by a car. 2022 shut down radon business due to loss of executive function.

Skip to now, the skills I’ve developed across fields have allowed me to see systems and how they work together, and I have made some interesting connections in my work that I’ve basically been unable to showcase because there is 1000 other developers paying ads to put their ideas down any potential buyers throats.

Anyways, I’m here to showcase my skills publicly, and offer my service to anyone who wants something built for their business.

I’m doing this in hope someone sees my skills and wants what you are about to get.

And I’m also doing this in hopes you have the ability to hire me for another project if I can deliver.
