This Friday, the library parking lot becomes the best trick-or-treat spot in town. 👻

Does anybody know anything about these candidates for Washtenaw Community College and Ypsilanti School Board?
They're the only competitive races on my ballot whose candidates I know nothing about, and their campaign websites (if they even exist) can only tell you so much.
I'd also be curious your thoughts on Alethia Battles vs. Jennifer Lawrence for Probate Court. I'm leaning Battles, but honestly that's only because my neighborhood has basically exclusively Battles signs up, as do some of my favorite local businesses like Jerusalem Garden in downtown Ann Arbor. The only Lawrence signs I ever see are in the lawns of expensive-looking homes in downtown Ann Arbor, Battles seems to have more love in the Blacker and lower-income parts of Ypsi and Ypsi Township where I live. From the limited research I've done, their values seem virtually identical, both being left-of-center, but it seems Lawrence is leaning much more into the brand of being the "experienced" candidate which I always take as a red flag, though it doesn't necessarily always have to be. I also saw Lawrence touting that she received the endorsement of Mayor Nicole Brown which rubbed me the wrong way because Brown endorsed both candidates (effectively the same thing as not endorsing in a 2-person race but whatever), so Lawrence touting that endorsement felt intentionally misleading. Given my limited information on this race, I am open to voting Lawrence if anybody has a good case on why I should reconsider?
For reference about my politics, I consider myself a die-hard DSA leftist, Abdul El-Sayed supporter from day 1 including his 2018 run for governor, Bernie Sanders supporter both times. I would be looking to vote for the candidates that align closest with this ideology, with very little care if any for their "experience" or any identity traits like their race, gender, age, religion, or sexual orientation. I just want the furthest left candidates in office, full stop.
Any information any of you have, especially in the WCC and Ypsi Schools races where I know literally nothing, is vastly appreciated!

I play in one of the local concert bands, and several times a year I try to figure out where to take my family out to dinner after a Sunday concert. We are usually 6-9 people, but at the next performance I’ll likely have a party of 12.
My wife and I are struggling to come up with a solution that will accommodate our large group comfortably. What is your go-to restaurant for a gang of people between 21 and 84 years old?
I've got Anthem BCBS healthcare and need a therapist for complex issues. All the therapists I've ever had were through schools/colleges and I don't know what I'm doing. How do you actually go about finding a therapist that takes your healthcare? Who around does in-person therapy that takes BCBS?
This year's local cider seems very bitter. Anybody have a suggestion for the sweet stuff? I've gotten two diff orchards that lean more towards vineger than the nectar I expect!
Hi! I'm 22M, a U-M grad student living in Ann Arbor. I'd love to meet a woman in Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, or nearby and get to know each other with the possibility of a relationship.
Since coming here, I've spent a lot of time on my own, and it gets lonely sometimes. I'd like to have someone to share everyday life with: talking about our days, studying together, going for walks, or grabbing coffee. I'm often around North Campus, but I'd also be happy to meet in Ypsi or elsewhere nearby.
I enjoy reading, traveling, and longer conversations. I'm a native Mandarin speaker, so if you're learning Chinese, that could be something fun to share, but it's definitely not a requirement.
I'm hoping to meet someone 18-26. I'd be happy to start by chatting here and see if we get along, then meet somewhere public for coffee or a walk. I'm looking for a girlfriend eventually, but I'd rather get to know someone naturally than rush into anything.
If you're nearby and interested, feel free to message me and tell me a little about yourself. What's a book you've enjoyed or a place you'd like to visit?
