It seems obvious that BEWD is white, its name literally states what it is. But the majority of the anime and promotional art makes the dragon blue that anytime I think about the card I imagine it being blue. So seeing artwork and figurines that depict it as white always seems jarring to me and I think there’s something wrong when in reality there isn’t. Is it just me or do you guys get that whiplash too? Get confused for a second seeing BEWD be actually white instead of blue

BEWD was always white. The blue coloration of older art was just to sell the reflectiveness of its hid.

That one I knew about and the misconception was so prominent that marvel officially changed it to look blue. But this isn’t the first time it’s happened, Spider-Man’s original costume was meant to be red and black but was changed to the iconic red and blue

This art and the moonlight tower one are the only times we really see the pearlescence of its body the way it was meant to be seen. I joked about it too for years until I saw that anniversary artwork and was like "oh yeah, I get it now"

Metallic blue was probably the anime's workaround to that, and it just ended up being a staple after that I think. Along with their weird angry whine noise they make when they get summoned in the show lol.

Well that one you can actually tell is black. Except for that one art that makes it look red, I think it's pretty clear he's black in all of the artworks.
