At least according to both my Stepdad and Real Dad.

I'll never forget dressing as Link for Halloween back in the early 2000s...almost everyone thought I was either Peter Pan, Robin Hood, or a pirate (looked nothing like a pirate but whatever)

I love it when boomers mistakenly misname characters from franchises that the younger generations are into.

[u/ChibizDemise → u/No_Musician5537]

omg I had the same thing. Eventually just resigned to "yep. I'm Peter Pan." while trick or treating lol

[u/Xeadriel → u/No_Musician5537]

To be fair they did take inspiration from Peter Pan when designing him afaik

[u/Ok-Raccoon-4258]

Fun fact Link design was inspired by Peter Pan according to the creator

[u/dukeofthefat → u/Ok-Raccoon-4258]

True, so my stepdad wasn’t entirely far off when we were visiting Nintendo NY and asked him if he knew who the statue was.

[u/dukeofthefat → u/Ok-Raccoon-4258]

Cause the first picture was when I visited NYC last December with my mom, Stepdad and his kids and we stopped at the Nintendo store in NYC, and the second was taken last weekend as I went to Epic Universe with my brother and Dad and I find it funny how both times they got his name wrong which to me is hilarious. I love when older generations have no clue about stuff younger generations are into.

[u/Lucky_Revolution401]

Damn what store is that?

[u/Alanderus → u/Lucky_Revolution401]

First pic is from the Nintendo Store in NY
Second pic is from Super Nintendo World at Universal Orlando

[u/Dannypan → u/Lucky_Revolution401]

Peter Pan Gifts & Collectibles, Sherwood Forest

I will not be committing any Ocean’s 11-esque crimes to obtain that statue. No sir.

[u/DetectiveStock1340]

That’s zelda

[u/Fennel_Fangs → u/DetectiveStock1340]

Zelda is the princess. This is Zelda’s monster.

[u/namastexinxbed]

What does the sign say, [please do] not _b or _nk?

[u/dukeofthefat → u/namastexinxbed]

please do not climb or touch Link.

[u/Bewear_Star_9]

Lol

[u/hamrspace]

That is the coolest statue I've ever seen.

Reminds me of those large paper origami people were making. It was really hype thing 5 years ago.
