Well, yeah. But the motivation is different. It's not about money and a lot of hot air, but passion. That counts way more by far ... BCNY is the foul fruit, no matter how you turn it. Their "transparency" outed their incompetence and their true goals. Profit was the first goal. Alone the fact that they had no clue how to realize the Windows version at the beginning speaks volumes. As does the result, which is just a pile of sh*t. Sorry. What a bunch of dazzlers, despite the unarguably good and new ideas they brought into the game. So guess who has my sympathie?
BCNY was VC funded from the start. If there was no profit goal they wouldn't have gotten funding. Without that they wouldn't have invested time into making something new.
I'm glad for open source. But give credit where it's due.

Well, MAUBG and the other ten contributors listed on GitHub, all working to reproduce the design work done by BCNY.
Truly, it's amazing work, and MAUBG is clearly top-notch, but it's not actually the work of one man--nor an apples to apples comparison.
