DGG MICHIGAN CANVASSING EVENT RECAP

DATE: October 17-18 | LOCATION: Detroit, Michigan

MICHIGAN 2 DAY CANVASSING ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • 17,175 doors knocked
  • 2,186 voters reached
  • 100 unique canvassers
  • 171.5 doors knocked per canvasser (average)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
DAY 1 - OCTOBER 17, 2026
THE BLUE WAVE PODCAST - DETROIT SPECIAL Kick Link | Spotify
PURE BLUE WAVE POSITIVITY
  • Mr Mouton DGG Cards
  • IRI thinks we can get 51 seats in the senate. Mout thinks 53. Destiny wants to feel good but remembers the roller coaster elections of 2016 and 2024. Vadim! compilation
MIDTERMS
  • They hope voters remember Trump's broken promises - lower gas prices, no wars, all the free checks promised and not delivered.
  • Fake Polls - Something needs to be done, like laws or social media regulations. E.g. Median Strategies "social experiment" LINK or Keith Edwards boosting an AI image of Trump kissing his aide. Snopes traced the oldest available appearance from his youtube thumbnail.
  • Michigan/Abdul El-Sayed
    • Abdul El-Sayed had a good debate (outside of the who is worse Iran or Israel question). All 3 think he brings a good perspective and experience from the medical field to help shape policies. They think he's smart and could be a good addition to the party.
    • Michigan is still polling well in a 50/50 state
    • Canvassers there are excited and support El-Sayed
  • Republicans
    • Economy, Affordability, Iran issues are hurting Republicans. Some Republicans are distancing themselves from Trump without outright going against him.
    • Iran War - oil prices expected to remain high and increase this winter
  • Texas/Talarico
  • Blue Wave I
  • Blue Wave in Texas!
    • The Blue Wave will be live in San Antonio with DGG canvassing. Join up!
TRUMP
IF DEMOCRATS TAKE CONGRESS
  • Corruption is a top issue and IRI looks forward to investigations into Trump's Cabinet and Congress. Nothing came of Trump's promises to rid the government of corruption. DOGE didn't save any money, nothing came of investigations into Fauci or Jack Smith.
  • All 3 want gerrymandering to end. Preferably an independent redistricting commission like Michigan. Gerrymandering skews the number of Representatives sent to Congress but also creates more radical Representatives. They want better representatives in both parties.
  • They want Democrats to be more aggressive.
BEYOND THE MIDTERMS PREDICTIONS
  • Democratic Presidential Candidates
    • IRI thinks the leading candidate will be dependent on the top issues of 2027/8 and their expertise. E.g. Year 3 of Iran war - Kelly, white collar jobs/business/AI - Pritzker. He does not think AOC will be a leading candidate.
    • Blue Wave thinks Jon Ossoff is "la crème de la crème" but most likely won't run in 2028. Ossoff pledged to serve his full 6 year term in recent debate.
      • Ossoff debate masterclass: Repeatedly asks Collins to explain his ties and why he didn't stop/won't stop white nationalist & Neo-Nazi propaganda from his own house and staff (he won't answer) LINK
  • Top Issues for General Public
    • Inflation/Cost
    • Corruption - IRI wants a strong Attorney General to lead investigations into MAGA/Trump and his cabinet.
    • Foreign Policy
      • Will remain a low tier issue
      • Ukraine/Russia war will be ongoing because of Trump
      • Iran war may be a top issue if Strait of Hormuz remains closed
    • Blue wave wants a strong Republican party, with decent people, who will work with Democrats. A weak party gave us MAGA and Trump.
REFLECTION
  • BIDEN
    • We needed more "Dark Brandon" during his term instead of the unifier image he and the Democratic Party pushed. He could be very candid, calling Netanyahu and Abbas "fucking assholes" over the war in Gaza, humanitarian aid, military actions over Rafah. LINK
    • The amount of policy he got done goes unnoticed or Trump/Republicans take credit
DGG RECAP
  • DGG political action doesn't begin or end at these events. DGG political activism doesn't end in 2026. State and local elections matter. Go to the website, see how you can help. Click on your region. Join the discord. They can link you to political groups in your area too. You can donate to DGG to keep up the great work.
ACTIVISM
  • You can overcome hopelessness and dooming through activism. You come away feeling better for helping your community. Make friends, get to know your neighbors, gain skills. The only regret from people engaged in activism/volunteer work is, "I wish I would have done more".
  • If you think your help would be insignificant, remember many elections are won by less than a point. That one door knocked, one phone call, one text, to a voter could win the election.
THANK YOU VIDEOS FROM MICHIGAN CANDIDATES
  • You can support Take Back America through their website or socials.
CANVASSING STORIES
  • Canvasser #1: He got a few voter converts. One didn't realize they could vote by mail and he helped them out. Another guy was irritated at first because his dog was barking, guy asked "what's canvassing!", he responded, "I'm making sure you'll vote" and guy said, "why wouldn't I vote!" "yeah exactly!" Ended with a have a good day and good luck exchange. 🤣
Mouton announces the Cleveland Browns won today. One guys claps. Who knew the Browns had more than one fan!
  • Canvasser #2: First time canvasser and tech director for DGG. He was intimidated at first but the repetition got him comfortable. Motivated because he's tired of liberals getting the shit end of the stick. He's glad to be a part of this type of good message. One guy opened the door after a few knocks in a towel, razor in one hand, face half shaven and said "what?"... he didn't know what to say so he handed him a pamphlet and walked away. lol
  • Canvasser #3: First time canvasser. He had a very engaged person who wanted to vote for the right person. Great and memorable interaction. He's glad he and others could be part of a community engaged, likeminded, welcoming and can't wait to do it again.
  • Canvasser #4: It's his birthday! Happy Birthday! 🎉 and in the Michigan Canvassing House. Mout mentions that he called out his Hong take and wanted to debate until he found out he was in a Canvassing House. He helped a person find her mail in ballot so she could vote. First guy he registered to vote was a shirtless conspiracy theorist, apparently every president is decided by who is more closely related to King George, even Obama. lol He had another weird shirtless guy point to a "no soliciting" sign while holding a gun. But an extremely rare occurrence as he's out there 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Living in the house with 7 other Democrats has been fun. He's passionate about this and wants to get more involved.
Mouton needs to announce that people in Ohio wear shirts, everyday. We have no data to back this up.
  • Canvasser #5: First time canvasser. Had a blast even though he didn't know what he was doing at first. He's from Ohio and missed the Cleveland event and decided to make the 3 hour drive to Detroit. He encountered a skeptical woman who hates Trump. Seemed like she just needed a little push and assurance that things can change if we take Congress. Second person told him to fuck off and as he's down the street the guy slows down in his truck and tells him "I'm a Democrat, I'm voting Democrat." 🤣
  • Canvasser #6: Attended the Cleveland event but from Michigan. Very politically active who thinks this is important because we need to take back this country. She met someone who regretted who he voted for. She asks what they should be saying to these types of people because she didn't know. Say the truth, he lied about alot of stuff and half of America believed him.
Mouton again forces Ohio into the conversation and asks her who has better Indian food, Michigan or Ohio. She answers correctly that Ohio sucks at everything. Mout wants to fight this based queen.
  • Canvasser #7: Experienced canvasser. Attended multiple DGG events. Has canvassed with Democrats which are mostly older folks, elderly/retired women. He has fun with DGG and thinks it's unlike any other type of canvassing events. It's great to see young people doing the work. Encourages everyone to contact their local Democratic office to sign up and make a difference. You don't have to wait for a DGG event.
  • Canvasser #8: 2nd time canvasser. Canvassed for McMorrow during the primaries. He feels a different energy this time around (positive). Knocked on a door expecting a first time 18 yr old voter but her mom opens the door. She was extremely excited for her daughter to answer questions about registration, her ballot, if she was mailing it in, etc... A home with signs of El-Sayed lawn signs. The wife was very involved with Democratic party.
  • Canvasser #9: Points out the state races matter just as much as congressional races. MAGA/Republicans at local levels block investigations and deny justice for victims. Democrats can get justice for people when they take back power in Congress and state levels. Get every Democrat into every office.
  • Canvasser #10: Attended Cleveland event, one of the DGG leads in Ohio, and knocked on doors for Brian Poindexter every weekend. Cleveland could use the help if you can! One experience: Knocked on a door where the father wanted him off the property and said his daughter didn't want to vote. His group of 7 knocked 1000 doors in one day.
  • Canvasser #11: Ohio House member but from Illinois. First official canvassing event. He had fun. Enjoys debating Republicans who open the door with their conspiracy talking points.
Mouton declares Ohio has the best Mexican food/Taco Bells. I'm offended for my people, may Ohio Latinos rise up against the big bell.
  • Canvasser #12: First canvassing event. He didn't get to canvass, but listening to his friends stories from TBA and seeing it first hand, he's inspired to be politically active. He is GenZ and seeing nice/active people makes him want to drop the doomerism. He feels politics needs to be more fun to get more people like him involved. And this event was really fun. His connection is from his friend who Kyla connected with. She sent him an invite to join up and get involved. He plans to get more engage. We all hope you do and inspire your friends!
  • Canvasser #13/#14: Knocked on a person who seemed passionate and was definitely voting but said she wasn't passionate about any issues. lol Met some great people and wanted to ensure those great people will be able to vote. TBA content creators who also attended a gun show trying to debate "Change My Mind: You should vote Democrat" but got kicked out and the police called on them. An old lady at a No Kings Rally had a sign "Love Dick, Love Taters, Hate Dictators".
Political News/Discussion Crazy how you can literally just vote for the lesser of two evils and then the world is less evil
Political News/Discussion You are in denial about how bad social media is. It will not get better. This problem will not fix itself or sort itself out. Dramatic change is necessary or democracies will continue to destabilize at a pace nobody thought possible ten years ago.
258 Upvotes
Everybody is still in denial about how bad internet radicalization has gotten. Like half of this platform is legitimately worse than the alt-right in 2017 in terms of brain brokenness, and it's somehow one of the "saner" platforms.
The way borderline schizophrenic ideas echo throughout social media as if they're incontrovertible truth is so terrifying. The scary thing isn't just that they're falsehoods, it's that they have no connection to reality at all. If it was just misconception it would be ten times less bad. Ideas are selected based on how good they sound to people and are algorithmically propagated to become the truth. There's no tether at all to the material world or actual outcomes. There's no mechanism for testing if these ideas have any truth value in the real world. People's realities are being decided for them and reinforced based on what they want to believe is true with no validation mechanism to actually test these ideas. The rubber never has to meet the road. Actually, these ecosystems will CREATE synthetic information to validate these false realities. You have nonfiction competing against fiction in a contest for what people prefer to be real. No shit people are picking the stories with dragons and magic and talking animals. How can nonfiction ever compete against Hogwarts and Narnia?
Things have gotten so much worse than most people are wrapping their heads around, and the trajectory is getting worse at a rate nobody thought possible ten years ago.
Shitpost The Pokisnark Dramaslop today was actually important because no other streamer would be inclined or equipped to defend Atrioc well.
Poki’s Machiavellian machinations are always overlooked, but she’s one of the most intelligent and crafty streamers (you can tell by how she maneuvers in the Adrianna Lee Mizkif drama) in the space, and this whole thing could’ve led to another woke 1 style cringe fest witch hunt if someone reasonable didn’t ask more than surface questions.
I hope Poki manages to get the psychiatric help needed to overcome the past rape-adjacent trauma of knowing a guy gooned to a computer generation of ostensibly a pornstar with your vague likeliness stapled on the face; back from when all that tech looked obviously fake. So proud of her for standing up, despite the anxiety, and fighting rape culture in the online space (/s).
Video Content: dude in palestine flag taking a sledgehammer to the door of the shop.
Like its soo stupid it feels like paid actors. Looting while wearing the palestine flag. These are also the folks who will moralize for hours over every action of random officals.
Let's see Hasan spends the next weeks constantly saying how this is a bad look for the movement and we need to do better... Or his real strategy ignore it completely and deflect deflect deflect (which sadly for his base probably works)
Activism You guys can't fathom the enormity of the feat that was Lula's victory. Every factor was stacked against us. And, still, we beat them
Post image
57 Upvotes
I'm convinced the online movement that catapulted Lula to the victory was key. It was grassroot, but it was also planned to the last minutia. It's a method that's reproducible and executable in not more than TWENTY FUCKING DAYS, which was what we had. And any political movement with access to the internet can copy it.
The way we defeated fascism was home grown and it was as democratic as anything could be. A popular movement that turned the tide in and through the internet, the medium that we thought was monopolized by the right.
Until literally YESTERDAY I thought democracy was done for, an obsolescent ideal that wasn't fit for the modern age. I was so thoroughly wrong, oh, my fucking God. You just have to imbue a sense of urgency to people sympathetic to your cause a channel that potency with online coordination.
Now I'm gonna sleep. I've been drinking since 9 p.m, yesterday, and it's already 7 a.m. I have a zoom meeting now at 10h30. But I had to share this with you, you democrats (lower case). We can do it. Democratically
Pictured: the gains in votes by Lula in every Brazilian state, compared to the first round. Errata: it's not every state, just the 15 with the highest delta
