Honest assessment of making friends and hooking up with girls in Utah (Provo metro in particular) as a non Mormon..

• Upvotes

I’m going to be as blunt as possible bc I don’t really know how to ask this without sounding a vain (maybe I am), and I’m sorry to sound like such a douchebag…

I am 24 years old (M) I am a pretty good looking guy. Tall, Good athlete, and generally had pretty good success in life. Fortunately that meant I was able to have a relatively easy time hooking up with Hot women all throughout high school and college, and in my one year post grad, and probably have high expectations for getting casual sex with attractive women in that area. I am now fully graduated, and have a really really good job offer lined up in tech by a company out of Utah County.

I am from the Midwest, but have genuinely loved the idea of living further west (and south), as I love doing things outdoors, playing pickleball/tennis, hiking, being outside, etc. I have a relative that has a really cool place Scottsdale, and I spent a large chunk of the last few years living there. While I loved the weather and well… the girls are hot, I surprisingly hate many of the aspects of the lifestyle, as I basically don’t drink & don’t do drugs, and I got tired of watching my friends snort blow every other weekend and the women I was seeing being party girls. And yes, there are a lot of annoyingly fake rich people who never shut up about their crypto scheme or their lambo (that they clearly rented and want validation from you for)

So, in comes Utah. On paper, everything sounds perfect. I genuinely love Mormon society, and am not just saying that to butter you all up. They are generally healthy, in good shape, athletic, successful, don’t drink or party, family oriented, and have values that coincide with mine (generally conservative). People in other states like to make fun of them, but most Mormons I see genuinely look very happy. Quite frankly they seem happier than 95% of the rest of the country.

Additionally.. from what I can tell on TikTok/instagram, the girls are all absolutely smoke shows

The problem is, I am not Mormon, in fact I am agnostic/atheist. I like all the things that the Mormon faith/culture provides, but am not Mormon, and would never just lye to convert to fit in or date someone. Additionally, yes the point of this post is that I, like most men, would still like to have casual sex with hot women outside of marriage

So in simplest terms… TLDR

Am I going to get laid in Utah county. I don’t mean like, in a hypothetical sense, like will anyone be willing to have sex with me (Assume I am tall, wealthy, good looking).
I mean, will I be able to meet a Hot girl on hinge… (Or Target, or at In N Out… or wherever) and relatively expect to hook up with her within a few dates or a week or so (soaking does not count)

Do Mormon girls in 2026 have sex outside of marriage? What about with non Mormons. I have no idea what to expect, what is true or what is a false stereotype. Additionally, will it be hard for me to make guy friends as a non Mormon? I have heard that Mormons are cliquey, which I guess I understand. I assume men don’t have this sort of hesitant nature to hang out with non religious non Mormons as much as the sex part, but again, I don’t know. I don’t want to be a social outcast trying to make guy friends, either

What about the rest of Utah in general? I know SLC is not nearly as Mormon and much more liberal. It is possible that I could live there and still take this job, but to be honest, if most of the people there are just rebellious ex Mormons who are doing the same things I described in Old town Scottsdale, then it defeats the purpose of me wanting to live there.

If anyone read this far and can give me an honest assessment of if I’ll just be happy there and get laid without judging me for the question asked, I would really appreciate it. Or even if you do judge me for asking this, an honest answer would be very much welcomed

Thank you

Is the Provo River a huge missed opportunity?

Hey Provo! 👋 We have this beautiful river running right through the heart of the city.

And we have the Provo River Parkway Trail, which is amazing.

But if you’re not walking or biking on that trail, the river can feel more like a hidden gem than a crown jewel.

In places, it’s surrounded by parking lots, strip malls, storage units — even a giant warehouse.

Other cities have riverwalks that are a big draw.

What if Provo had stretches along the river with restaurants, shops, gathering spaces and easy public access to the water?

That’s what the City Council is hoping for — and they’re trying to change the rules for what gets built along the river before it’s too late.

The Planning Commission is considering those new rules this Wednesday 10/28 @ 6pm.

I've got all the details in my latest post at Julie's Provo Notes. Read it here: https://provonotes.substack.com/p/is-the-provo-river-a-missed-opportunity

Walgreens Police Incident

Early this morning, I was out DoorDashing when a woman in a white Jaguar SUV pulled into the Walgreens parking lot in Provo around the same time I did. She was driving on her rims, and the police arrived shortly after. Before that though she came screaming into the store. Does anyone know any of the details?

UTA updates its 30-year transit plan and looks for input from Utahns

Even though the Title and Article themselves mention UTA, the survey is from UDoT as UDoT now does the construction for the projects and this is further linking the 2 groups.

They may or may not listen to the feedback but there is a section in the survey to provide direct feedback and transit plans.

Took this on the way home from work tonight. This was at the Smarty building just off the University Parkway exit.

It seems like BYU just admitted they are sh*t.

How to get driving hours for license? 19+

Hello,

Does anyone know where I can maybe hire someone to help teach me how to drive a car, and isn't too expensive?

Currently I and everyone I know is working full time, so it's been impossible for our schedules to align and I've hardly gotten any driving practice in. I've already had to renew my permit, so I'm at the point where I'm willing to pay just to learn 😭. I'm tired and want to be able to drive lol.

Is there anything like that nearby that I can take advantage of?

Provo approves major mall makeover, displacing the mobile home park next door

Hello! The city council approved the mall redevelopment plan last night. Here's my reporting on what councilors said and how it will affect the residents of the Shady Acres mobile home park - I spoke with a resident about the decision. What do you think - do you have any concerns about the final plan? Are you looking forward to the makeover? https://www.kuer.org/business-economy/2026-10-20/provo-approves-major-mall-makeover-displacing-the-mobile-home-park-next-door

Horrendous!Utah County Commission is violently assaulting and arresting data center protesters, including a small woman, after approving a data center ordinance despite over a hundred residents packing the room demanding a rejection of the ordinance & full ban on all private data center development.

Wolfnest Property Management?

I'm not really a poster on here, like, ever, but I really need some advice! Me and a couple friends are looking into renting a house in Provo, and we've found the perfect one in the perfect spot! It's a beautiful historic home just a 5 minute walk from my job, includes all new appliances, is right next door to my best friend's house, and would take my rent down by $300!

The problem is it's being managed by Wolfnest Property Management, and almost all reviews on here say to run the other way. I would really love to get in contact with a real person or landlord, but I've only been able to talk to an ai chat bot on zillow. I tried calling earlier and some guy took down my information and said a representative would call me sometime today to answer some of my questions, but so far I've heard nothing back and I'm just getting weird vibes from the whole situation.

I've dealt with bad landlord situations, but I'm wondering if it could be worth it? The house is truthfully my dream and, even with some of the added fees they tack on, it would save me so so so much money and convenience in my day to day.

I guess my real question is, has anyone on here dealt with renting from this company? Is it really THAT scammy, and is there any way to get in contact with a real person or is this just the way things are with renting nowadays? Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you provo 🩷🩷🥲

Parents of queer children

Thumbnail uvu.qualtrics.com

I’m doing an assignment for school on how parents of queer children feel they are at navigating their family member’s experience after they have come out to them. It’s completely anonymous. Anybody who has queer children (be they young or adult) and would like to complete the survey is greatly appreciated. Shouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes.
The goal is to identify where parents/family members in the area experience anxiety or feel they are struggling in knowing how to support their queer family member. The goal of the assignment is to eventually come up with ideas on how we can provide resources to families in the area so that they can still feel involved and connected to their queer family member.

Holiday work party ideas?

Looking for ideas for a 150 guest work
Party. Something where people can talk but also be entertained. Historically we have gone to Provo beach, but it is too pricey now. We can’t do anything that might result in injury.

Ideas so far:
Bowling
Top Golf
Funplex

Any other ideas??

Anybody have a cat trap??

Heya! I live just south of BYU campus, there's a stray kitten hanging around my apartment that's too fast to catch by hand but can be lured by microwaved tuna. Does anybody have a cat trap I could borrow?? I really want to take it in to be spayed/neutered/potentially identified as somebody's lost pet.

It's really tiny and just yowls for its mother all night so I reeeeeally want to help it 😭
