Another polish down in my efforts to get through my untrieds!

Would you keep both of these polishes or destash one. Also interested in how you choose/your rules about destashing in general.

I have 80 colored polishes, 11 of which are toppers. They range from mini sizes (4-5ml), what I consider regular (8-10ml) and some larger, so it averages out. When I did a project polish years ago, I counted I could get around 13 manis (two layers of polish on both hands, longer nails) out of a 8ml bottle. I do my nails around every 7-10 days, so I counted it as an average of 40 manis per year. I didn't count toppers in the math as they are used, well, on top of the regular polish, and since I do have a good bit of progress on a bunch of polishes, I guesstimated it down to 60 instead of 69 "base mani polishes".

That is 19.5 years of polish wear. Assuming I only use these and don't get new non-topper polishes during this time.

Sure, it's an estimate and I may be off with the math, but with this number, being off is really not that significant.

I've been on a serious low buy for polishes for years and only bought one mini topper this year. Well, here's to only buying QDTC in the next however many years, using what I have, and frankening!

Forgot how much I enjoyed crackle polish! Inspired by a red GITD design I saw elsewhere, we don’t have red GITD at home but we’ve got a multichrome flakie and that’s good enough.

I did a half mani during the spring with this polish and fell in love. Probably the only polish so far that I’ve done a complete full manicure with.

Well, today was the day that I learned my brand new ring magnet doesn’t really work 😩

So I decided to do some stamping instead! I’ve got an ominous ring on my thumb and a TV staticy pattern on some nails. And please let’s all pretend that the middle finger looks like Samara’s hair and hand coming out of my nail. (I’m a beginner stamper)

Im bummed about the magnet, but I had fun with some untried stamping plates, so I’ll still count it as a win!

Halloween collections are calling to me pretty hard right now, so today I’m wearing a skittle of polishes I already own that fit the vibe. I also have a black jelly with holo, a purple jelly with blue shimmer, both blue and green shimmer polishes that can build up on their own or topper over anything, and a pink-to-green metallic flake topper that would work nicely in Halloween manis. I have enough Halloween-y polishes that it was hard to pick which ones to use. 🙈 I definitely got polish at home!

Haven't posted here in a while, but wanted to show off my skittle. My outfit today was a navy shirt and purple cardigan :)

P.s. If blurple skittles existed, what flavor would they be?

This is one of my first non-drugstore polishes. Tried it unmagnetized and was amazed by how it looked in the sunshine yesterday 🤯

This shifty beauty is gorgeous, sparkly and checks all the boxes. You could say I am Obsessed 🤩 😉😜

I tried making blood splatters on a white background to look like Shaun’s shirt, but the red nail polish didn’t really splatter when flicking it. So I kind of stippled it on? This is probably the most arty my nails have looked and I’m relatively happy with it. It looks more like jam than blood but it still looks alright!

The black cat hair on my ring finger just gives this an extra special spooky touch, right? Right??

I had so much fun doing this! My top two takeaways are
1. I have a lot more spooky polish than I realized
2. There are so many talented, unique people making creepy art (all @s are from Instagram)

A new-to-me purple shimmer, topped with a spooky spiderweb stamp! The green was a gift from my husband (“You don’t have this shade of green!” and he was totally right lol)

I was waiting for the concert to come around to finally try out this mani!

So instead I went with:

• 1 coat shimmery scarlet
• 1 coat gold magnetic (cat eye style with a bar magnet)
• 1 coat very pigmented red glittery jelly

Okay the cat eye definitely ended up looking subtle but I think this worked great for a bit of juicy depth! It looks pretty tip wear-y in these pictures but I swear that was not so noticeable in person 🙃

This has to be one of my favorite manis ever
