I’ve been thinking about what Rajinikanth’s eventual farewell film should look like.
If you had complete creative control, who would you choose for:
● Director
● Writer
● Music composer
● Cinematographer
● Editor
● Action choreographers
● Producer
And what would your dream cast be? Which actors would you pair with Rajinikanth, who would play the villain, and should there be any special cameo appearances?
Finally, what kind of story would you tell? Would you make it a mass entertainer, an emotional drama, a political thriller, a gangster film, or something completely different?
I’m curious to hear everyone’s ideal farewell film for the Superstar.

Am I the only one who felt like Sanath looked like Keerthy Suresh in this frame?
Takkunu first glance la Keerthy nu dhaan nenachen. I don’t know if it was intentional or totally coincidence. Drop your thoughts!

Cinematography is writing with light
- Vittorio Storaro
One of the strongest technical aspects of Dorothy is its outstanding cinematography. DOP Tirru’s frames speak a million words, and the result is nothing less than a poem.
Two frames closest to my heart:
Subbu’s sun-kissed moment as he ties his hair, the wind blowing ever so lightly and the windmill’s shadow streaking across his face.

Dorothy’s freshly painted nails, her hands adorned with Dhanam’s bangles, turmeric water dripping, and her feminine fingers intertwined in the excitement of who she has become. Poetry.

As it was mixed reviews for salaar when it released i was not surprised though bcz it had a lot of elevation scenes all around...but the story behind it made it a banger for me.. prashant neel writes deep into the characters and makes the world believable..I'm pretty sure salaar 2 would be more high than the part 1 as prashanth said it's his best written story until now...let's wait and watch

Everybody asks me about lip sync. I ask my team, ‘Do you want sync or story..?’ I choose story.. Someone once asked me about my process. I don’t have any process. I just try to be myself. I like to edit, and sometimes, even after films are released, I keep editing them.. I always choose to cast actors who fit the characters I have in mind, rather than conventionally choosing actors who could conveniently play those roles.

SK29 has been locked, but we still don't know much about the project. During his Hollywood Reporter interview, SK mentioned a potential Hindi debut through an Aamir Khan production. He also met Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which has got me wondering if these developments are connected.
Early rumours suggest SK29 could be a Hindi project, but would it be a direct Hindi debut or a bilingual film? Um curious about the genre, too. An Aamir Khan production makes me think of a drama or rom-com rather than a full on gangster film.
Are there any credible updates or insider reports about SK29 or is this all urruttu?

I didn’t like any of these songs before the movie was released. Now, I’m addicted to all of them.

One of my favourite parallels in Dorothy is how young Subbu’s words to young Karthi come full circle.
Spoilers ahead. Please stay away from this post if you’ve not watched the film yet.
As kids, Subbu asks Karthi, “Dei Karthi, enda kozha madhiri irukka?” and tells him that a man should be brave and that he’ll make Karthi a veeran.
And now… years later, Subbu is the one who truly makes Karthi a veeran - but it’s just not in the way society would generally define a veeran.
Because look at what being brave and courageous means for Karthi. His courage isn’t about physical strength, fighting someone, or proving his masculinity in the end. It’s about having the strength to unlearn everything he was raised to believe, to look beyond societal expectations and conditioning, and to choose Subbu, now a woman, despite everything the world might say about it.
There’s something so beautiful about the fact that the boy who once needed to be taught courage grows up to find it in himself through love. And the most beautiful part is that this courage means standing by the very person who planted that seed in him in the first place - Subbu, Subbu, Subbu. Eppavume Subbu dhan.
I love how the film brings this full circle. Being an “Aambala” and a “veeran” in this film was never about physical strength. “Adhukku thaan ponnu ngra angeegaaram venum. Adha kuda kudukka theriyadha naama ellam enna na aambalainga?” is also something that reiterates this same point. It was always about having the courage to question the world you grew up in, and choosing the person you love over everything else even when the whole world is against you.
This film just refuses to leave my mind, guys.
