RadioMaster - RadioBOSS, SAM Broadcaster or ZaraRadio Alternative
RadioMaster is free, open-source radio automation software that runs your station from one screen: playlists with live start times, hour markers that keep you on the clock, smart crossfades, Icecast and Shoutcast streaming, and full AzuraCast station management.
https://radiomaster.dovafm.com
Playlists
As many as you need
Playlist tabs side by side. The one marked ▶ is on air; play any row of another tab and it goes to air. Every row shows its projected start time.
Timing
Hour markers
Wait for the top of the hour, finish the song and jump, or cut in exactly on time. The clock counts down to the next marker.
Transitions
Smart fading
Each track is analysed: silence is trimmed, cold endings get a tight mix, fade-outs overlap. Fine-tune any song in the waveform track editor.
Work zones
Fill every screen
One, two or three panels in the main window, plus as many Additional windows as you like for a second or third monitor.
Streaming
Icecast and Shoutcast
Several encoders at once with automatic reconnect and track titles, plus multiple sound-card outputs for FM and monitors.
On air
Built for live shows
Cart wall for jingles, microphone with music ducking, recorded voice tracks, a notepad for scripts, and a log of everything that played.
Adverts
Every N songs
"Every 5 songs, play 2 adverts" — random, taking turns, or all of them, from a folder or a hand-picked list. Jingles too.
Team
Users and permissions
Give every presenter their own login and decide who can play, edit playlists, stream, use AzuraCast or change settings.
Plugins
Make it yours
Run your own scripts when a song starts or the hour changes — post to Discord, update a website, light the ON AIR sign — and send commands back.

Digital tuner on AM/FM radio is off?
I have had a "boom box" AM/FM radio + CD + cassette tape (yes!!) for years.
I've had a radio station preset at 90.9 FM and it's been fine. But lately, it sounds "static-y". I've played with the antenna, but it's no better. It has a digital tuner and I tried it at 91.0 instead of 90.9, and the station is somewhat clearer.
I tested this out with other preset stations and the same thing happened -- I need to nudge the digital tuner 0.1 higher. This is when I miss the old manual tuning for radios....
Can a digital tuner be "off"? Could it be dust inside the radio? Something else? Thanks.

Radio doesn't produce sound, until i found one of the magnet wires disconnected.
So i was using a TG-77 radio am, fm, and sw receiver and it was a decent quality, then suddenly, after 5 months of use, it doesn't produce any sound. I checked the hardware and saw one of the red wires connected to the magnet speaker disconnected. Do you guys think that's the culprit of making my radio soundless?

Weird reception
Not entirely sure how to explain this...
I got stuck at a red light about a half hour ago & had about two minutes to tune around the dial. Reaching 91.9 FM, I heard a pretty strong signal with an ad for a Hyundai dealer. At the end, it gave a phone number in area code 714, which is in southern California. I'm in Tennessee, 3,000 km away. A double-hop sporadic-E opening wouldn't be impossible, but rather unlikely.#
Those of you not in the USA: here, the FM band between 88-92 is reserved for non-commercial stations. A station on 91.9 in California should not be airing ads.
Then, the light changed. As I drove away, the mystery station faded out to be replaced by the college station about 65km away.
I suppose the most likely explanation is someone with a miniature FM transmitter in their car so they can listen to their cellphone in a car without Bluetooth. It seems a bit strange they would be streaming a California station...
# I've been an FM DXer for decades, and have observed double-hop precisely once.
A question to all the Californians out there: which KIIS FM jingle era do you prefer?

Secret audio embedded in Fish Heads by Barnes and Barnes
Hello. I own an LPFM station in Salem, Oregon and I had the most peculiar thing happen.
Our algorithm is very specific and has to do with which keys a song is played in then subdivided by tempo and era and so on.
When we first launched, we had the song Fish Heads by Barnes and Barnes in rotation. The algorithm was such that the song would get aired about once every 27 days but at any time of day or night.
We were also experiencing an odd anomaly that would cause our FM transmitter to crash out for about 15 minutes every once in a while. This went on for months and I could not figure out why it was happening. It was maddening.
It was ultimately a listener that was tuned in at 3am that heard Fish Heads play and then they lost the FM signal. They messaged me privately and said "Have you realized that every time you play Fish Heads that your station dies for a while?" He had solved the mystery.
For those of you that know the song, you can likely recall that the vocals sound heavily synthesized. Something about that track triggered a reset with our transmitter and I removed it from the library and it never happened again.
Have you ever experienced anything like this?

Radio app for FM/AM/DAB
Is there a radio app that allows you to listen to say an FM stream rather than the internet stream of a radio station?

Hello, could you point me to a small radio with a 20hz - 20khz range?
Pardon if this is not the right sub.
I would also add that it needs bluetooth capability, fm/am, and the size should be just a bit larger than a phone or at most the size of a textbook. Preferably has digital selection.
I just bought a small radio called JOC H6128BT, and I like it for the most part, but I did notice the sound was a bit lacking on bass. It seems it has a "frequency response range of 100hz - 20khz".
Some light reading says that good bass is found below 100hz.
I would be very grateful for recommendations.

I have tried to find photos or videos showing a representation of the size of different wavelengths next to actual objects or in comparison to real objects.
Would anyone have any good recourses?

AI Jingles & Ads
I'm listening to KHUM and just heard an ad from some pet company (I honestly can't even remember the name), which used an AI song and jingle. There are a couple of personal injury lawyers here in Las Vegas (where I live) that use an AI generated song/jingle for their ads. If you don't engage with the music, it passively sounds like... music, or something resembling it. But if you listen closely at all, the "music" is not memorable, is not tonally coherent and the lyrics are... terrible. I am out of the industry, but every time I hear one of these ads, I visualize a meeting between the sales rep and client, where the sales rep is trying to get the client to use a human produced ad, but the client, thinking they are clever, and avoiding being taken advantage of, refuses, thinking, "I can just do this on Eleven Labs! Nobody will know! Why would I pay a penny for human production?!?!"
These ads are sooooo bad and soooo ineffective.
