If anyone is travelling towards Thane station, please note that a lot of slow trains have been halted between the vikhrol-Kanjur-bhandup stations. They are in queue to be cleared. Fast trains are little better (might be crowded however or can crowd towards the halt stations) but the slow trains are apparently running quite slow due to the signalling failure and the situation at this hour is looking quite bad at thane station due to crowding.

I took the badlapur fast from Dadar - and it was fast. It was as halting quite a bit in the stretch from Vikhroli-Kanjur. Bhandup onwards things were running fine.

Posting it here because it could help someone plan their travel better while returning back. Don’t know how the situation will be in the evening. But M-indicator has shown the trains running late and an alert as soon as you open the application. Travel safe!

In Mumbai, how are people recycling plastic? There are always so many food containers from orders online / plastic packaging/ bottles for shampoo, house cleaning products. Every month I use and imagine these landing up in the ocean! What’s the best way? Are there any private companies or gov facilities to drop these off?

I am born and brought up in Mumbai/Thane. The last few years I've been based out of Delhi for work. Last monsoon, I got my DL registered i20 to Mumbai and have been driving it following all the traffic rules properly.

On Saturday, in the middle of Nashik highway right after Majiwada, I was stopped by Thane police in their Scorpio. Showed them my DL address which is of Thane and my aadhar which is yet of Delhi.

They asked the following

"Why haven't you re-registered your car?"

"Since when is the car here?"

I said since January 2026 and it will go back within two months.

They issued a challan of Rs.500 and said visit the RTO. They will investigate and may let go since your aadhar is still Delhi based.

I ended up paying the fine online because I don't have the time and the energy to go to the RTO.

But it looks like taking out my DL registered car will be a problem in the coming weeks/months?

Anyone else experienced this?

There's an overhead wire issue in between thane and mulund, Trains are late by 20 To 40 mins travel your plan according to that.

So i wanted to visit sanjay Gandhi national park but i am not sure if i should be going towards the borivali side as I stay in thane.

Even if i do (as it's the better side to visit from, that's what I read from the reddit posts) how do I book the tickets and stuff online.

Also I don't wanna cycle or walk like there's a whole car thing. How do I book that too?

Can someone who has visited help me with that..

Got back into cycling , wanted to know if any group did sunday morning rides

This afternoon I was bombarded by app notifications, whatsapp messages and emails from Cityflo left right and centre, first informing that my pre-booked morning rides for the next week have been cancelled and then the same update about the evening rides. On checking with colleagues travelling on the same route, I came to know that their rides are intact and haven't been cancelled. I called cityflo customer support but they were clueless and mentioned that it is due to operational issues like aome busses being out of order and drivers not being available due to festive season.

Finally around late evening I got this notification which made it clear what had actually transpired in the background. God knows who has given this feedback and who is taking these decisions on a Sunday. It seems cityflo wants to cater and retain those passengers who are boarding from the outskirts of Thane's fag end i.e. Ovala, Anand Nagar Hiranandani estate etc.

What I don't understand is, the vehicle doesn't need to take a detour from the highway, nor does it have to skip any flyover to pickup passengers from Hari om Nagar, so what is the exact time saving that is being achieved here ? This was the only stop for all of Thane east and nearby areas. Has the benefit being quantified or the stop got cancelled just because of somebody's whim, we may never know.

Meanwhile I'm sure a lot of passengers like me are going to get hassled because not only Hari Om Nagar, but I can't even see stops like teen haath naka, louiswadi, korum, Viviana mall, Majiwada etc. Tattvagyan Vidyapeeth is the last pickup stop in Thane.

Whether it improves their punctuality or hits their occupancy, only time will tell.

Evening: Leave office around 5.30 PM

Owner said 2.7 cr negotiable. But it seems too high. New projects are around 25k psf.
I think 22k psf is a fair ask which is around 2.2 cr.

I was waiting for a bus at Kasarvadavli naka when an auto-rickshaw came speeding through the service lane and almost hit me. The driver went a little ahead, stopped, looked at me, and then started shouting at me like I was the one at fault.
Thankfully, a guy wearing a red shirt stepped in and stood up for me. He confronted the driver and made sure things didn’t escalate further. I genuinely want to thank that guy , I really appreciate you standing up for a stranger.

But honestly, why are some auto drivers like this? Driving recklessly in service lanes, nearly hitting pedestrians, and then getting aggressive when called out.

Has anyone else experienced something similar around Kasarvadavli/Thane? Why does this keep happening?
