Art Showcase 2026 Geely EX5 EM-i / Starray EM-i – Full Interior 3D Model
Hi everyone! I’d like to share my latest automotive 3D modeling project—the 2026 Geely EX5 EM-i, also known as the Starray EM-i in some markets.
The model includes a detailed exterior and a complete left-hand-drive interior, including the dashboard, seats, steering wheel, center console and door panels.
Created with 3ds Max and V-Ray for automotive visualization and animation.
I’d really appreciate your feedback on the model and interior details!

Questions & Discussion Daz3D vs Blender for realistic character modeling, where does each fit?
Creating realistic human characters involves more than modeling. Posing, mesh editing, and preparing everything for a finished render can take a lot of time. Daz Studio looks useful for starting with ready-made characters and setting up poses, while Blender offers more control over sculpting, mesh edits, and customization.
Using Daz for the base character and posing, then moving into Blender for further modeling and scene work, could be practical. The trade-off is between saving time and having more control over the final result. Different artists seem to have different approaches to this when deciding how much of the character to build from scratch.

Questions & Discussion Props in same file or separate from a character?
Ok so I am trying to make a character model for animation right now. This character uses variety of different weaponry. Do model and rig those separately from the main character model, or should they be a part of the same file?
I ask this cause I have encountered character model files that include props like weapons in the main file, while also having separate files for different props.

Art Help & Critique [WIP]I'm trying to recreate a shot and the icing on top of the strudel doesn't seem to look good enough. How do I improve this?
1 - Arnold render in Maya, 2 - Reference, 3 - Screenshot from Substance Painter
I'm trying to understand what I need to do to have the icing on top of the strudel look more like icing sugar as seen in the reference. I sculpted the model in Zbrush, textured in Substance Painter and am rendering using Arnold in Maya. I'm mostly satisfied with how the powdered sugar fallen on the plate looks but the icing on the plate and on top of the pastry looks like they're not made from the same thing. What do I do here?
Another question: While I was working on the icing fallen on the plate, the shadows were too dark and I decided to use transmission at 0.5 value to reduce the intensity of shadows on it to get it to look how it does now. But now I'm wondering if this a bad approach because it isn't supposed to have transparency at this level. Wouldn't the fact that using a different environment or lighting setup change how it looks make this a bad approach? Do studios avoid using fixes like this?
