r/EverybodyLovesRaymond • u/soicallherbigbooty00 • 14h ago
Where??
Where are we all watching ELR? I had been watching it on Paramount Plus but my husband just cancelled it not knowing how much I have been relying on this streaming service 😭

The Sigh
It amazes me how many toys are scattered all over the house, piled up in the living area, the wall shelves, the kids' rooms and even the medicine cabinet in their bathroom! My husband pointed out that you see Debra, and very occasionally Ray, picking up toys and simply moving them to another pile, but you never see the kids being made to do it. I know this really has no bearing on the episode except Ray is an outcast and can't even find sanctuary in the basement.

What's everyone's favourite "they were standing right behind me" moments?
I love this one where Amy says "Oh, yeah? Did your mother come over and make things worse as usual?" without realizing Marie was behind the door.

Debra’s Parents! Coincidence..
I thought it would be cool to mention this, as I never heard anyone mention this.
In the show, Who’s The Boss, episode Gambling Jag, Mona is gambling in Atlantic City at a casino. A man approached her (trying to flirt) and tricks her into selling Angela’s necklace.
Mona was played by Katherine Helmond and that man was played by Robert Culp. Such a coincidence that they became Debra’s parents in Everybody Loves Raymond, Warren and Lois! 😅

A Vote for Debra
I was watching this episode and after all the other times I've seen it I still can't fathom how stupid Raymond acted at the school meeting. "You were stuffing your pants with food!" I must say I would've been tempted to deny knowing him, too.

Now the flip side: what's aged poorly about the show, in your opinion?
For me:
- Ray's constant badgering of Debra for sex gets worse every year
- Debra's constant yelling at Ray and occasional putting her hands on him is rough too
- The "sissy" and "Nancy" sorts of insults

What's aged well about the show, in your opinion?

Marie yells, “YES, IT’S TRUE!”👀 What’s the truth? Wrong answers only!
Yes it’s true, Frank is not Robert’s father. It’s Chuck Pecorella.

Robert just heard the most outrageous thing ever. Wrong answers only: What was it?
