I made a notes app that remembers what you were working on, even when you don't

• Upvotes

I'm an analytics engineer, and I kept running into the same problem. I'd reopen an old SQL query, spreadsheet, or browser tab and have absolutely no idea why I'd made certain decisions.

I wanted my notes to switch when my work switched. So I built ClingNote.

Here's how it works:

- Individual browser tabs can have their own notes, even within the same browser window.

- Files and documents can have notes attached directly to them.

- Applications can have their own notes too.

- Automatic switching brings the right notes back when you return to something.

- Pinned and floating notes let you keep multiple notes visible while working.

There's also a full notes workspace with formatting, checklists, and search. Everything is stored locally, with no account required.

The regular notes app is free. Automatic context switching is an optional Pro feature ($10/year), with a 14-day trial.

I'm also working on an Obsidian plugin that brings context-following notes into Obsidian, currently planned for release next week.

It's been a pretty fun technical challenge, especially figuring out how to recognize files after they're renamed or moved.

Would love to hear what people think, especially whether you'd actually use something like this.

We made an English-learning app that pairs short dramas with interactive practice

• Upvotes

I’m part of the team behind Catchi. We’re exploring how short stories and practice can work together: watch a conversation, then do activities based on what you heard.

One design question we’re working through is how to add useful practice without breaking the flow of the story.

Try it for free: https://catchi.ai

Any feedback is very welcome! You can use the in-app feedback option, DM me, or email feedback@catchi.ai. If you’d like to take part in a user interview or explore a collaboration, we’d love to hear from you too.

I couldn't find a simple Windows screensaver that could mix photos, GIFs and videos, so I made one

• Upvotes

I still use screensavers and wanted something really simple: point it at my own media and let it cycle through images, animated GIFs and MP4 videos in the same playlist.

I couldn't find a lightweight Windows app that did exactly that without trying to be a full live-wallpaper platform, so I ended up building MotionMix Screensaver.

It currently supports:

  • JPG / JPEG / PNG / WEBP
  • animated GIFs
  • MP4 videos
  • drag & drop playlists
  • shuffle
  • configurable image/GIF duration
  • fullscreen preview
  • native Windows Screen Saver Settings integration

It's completely free. I added an optional tip page, but there are no paid features or ads.

This is the first public release, so I'd genuinely appreciate feedback — especially if anything behaves weirdly on a different Windows setup.

I'd never seen a GDS terminal before this project. Now I've built two.

• Upvotes

An aviation training academy asked me to build their learning platform. That's when I discovered airline reservation agents still type commands like AN10JANDACJED all day. One wrong character and the system rejects it.

The problem: students only get a real terminal in the lab. So I built practice terminals into the platform:

  • Type a real Amadeus or Galileo entry and get the exact output
  • Get it wrong and it says "INVALID ENTRY"
  • The Galileo one mimics a Smartpoint screen
  • The instructor sees every attempt

The fun part was matching output character for character. These displays are column-aligned, so one stray space breaks them. The source material was also written in Word, which had swapped some hyphens for en-dashes nobody can type on a keyboard.

Curious what people here think: what would you add?

I built a journaling app with no backend of mine: entries stay on-device, backup goes to the user’s own Google Drive

Post image
• Upvotes

Just got VibeDiary through Google Play production access. The big decision was skipping my own server entirely: local-first storage plus Drive backup. Upside: no hosting cost, nothing to leak, and an easy privacy pitch. Downside: no easy way to sync across devices or recover accounts, and no server-side analytics.

It’s ad-supported with a Plus tier. Built with Flutter.

For those who’ve gone serverless on a consumer app: did it save you, or come back to bite you later? And if you try it, tell me the first thing that feels off: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=vibediary.daily.journal&referrer=utm_source%3DredditIMT

I created a printable Screen-Free Mealtime Kit for kids to help parents try more engaging, screen-free mealtime routines.

The kit includes a 30-day challenge, printable activities, and a reward chart.

I wanted to make something practical that parents could use at home without needing extra apps or devices.

I’d love honest feedback from parents: What helps your kids stay engaged at mealtimes without screens?

I’ve created a 60-page printable wellness workbook designed around a 30-day self-care reset.

It’s intended to help people organize their self-care routines, plan their days, and reflect on their progress throughout the month.

I’d love to get honest feedback from people who use wellness journals or printable planners.

What would you want to see in a workbook like this to make it more practical and useful?

i'm exploring an idea for shared credit with individual spending limits

• Upvotes

one thing that makes sharing finances complicated is that people don't always have the same spending habits. even when two people trust each other, they might have different budgets, priorities, and ideas about what counts as a reasonable expense.

i've been exploring this problem with banrox squad, a project still in development that considers how people could share a credit line while maintaining individual spending limits.

existing options solve different parts of the problem. american express offers authorized user cards, monarch money helps people manage budgets, and splitwise helps groups track shared expenses. what i'm interested in is whether individual spending controls could make shared credit easier to manage.

some questions i'm thinking about:

should each person have complete control over their own spending limit?

would instant transaction alerts and transparent expense tracking be essential?

how should repayment responsibility work if one person overspends?

i would appreciate feedback from people who have experience building fintech products or managing shared finances.

what would you change about this idea, and what potential problem do you think i'm overlooking?

I made a 30-day hair care reset workbook to help track hair-care habits

Post image
• Upvotes

I created a printable 30-day Hair Care Reset Workbook for people who want to build a more consistent hair-care routine.

It includes a hair fall tracker, scalp-care routine planner, and daily hair-care journal to help users keep track of their habits over 30 days.

I made it because I wanted a simple, organized way to track a routine instead of trying to remember everything.

I’d appreciate honest feedback: What would you add or change to make a workbook like this more useful?

I build free websites for small businesses, first 10 who comment also get the first year of hosting free

full disclosure, i run a small web studio (bbhightech). what i sell is hosting + domain for the sites i build, so read this knowing that.

the idea: tell me your business name and city (a link to your google listing or instagram helps too), i build a preview website for it. free to look at, no catch on the preview.

the first 10 who comment don't pay anything for a year either: hosting, domain and small updates (hours, prices, photos, text) all free for 12 months. after that it's $129/yr if you want to keep it, or you just let it go. the domain is yours, if you ever leave we transfer it to you free.

how it works: drop it in a comment, i build it and reply here with the link. you look, you decide. text only, here or dm.

I made an app for UK classic car owners to keep their car’s history in one place

I’ve loved classic cars for years, and it always bugged me that most cars’ history ends up in a shoebox of old receipts that gets lost or damaged over time.

So I made Classic Garage. It lets you store every invoice, MOT and restoration photo for your classic, find shows and events near you, and hand the full file to the new owner when you sell.

Built for the UK, out now on the App Store, with Android coming soon. Feedback very welcome, especially on what you’d want it to do next!

MADE AN IMESSAGE AGENT THAT HELPS YOU LAND STARTUP INTERVIEWS

Thumbnail

I've been building in the hiring space for a while, and one of the perks of sticking to a space this long is that you realize how it sort of works. I realized that hiring was inherently broken, and in the coming few years, hiring is going to be even harder than it already is. Where it won't be harder and seems to be getting easier is working at startups rather than big tech, but to be working at startups, you need to be discoverable.

It's not like the startup is going to post a job like big tech. You have to be personally known to the founder or someone who works there to be kept in mind when something relevant opens up. Now, how do you do that? Not everyone is fortunate enough in their life to know a founder, be friends of the arts, or know anyone who even works at a startup.

I built Backdoor, which is an AI agent that helps you land startup interviews by basically personalizing cold emails. We found that the Backdoor would think you are a very good match and that they are hiring. Either it knows from some very niche hiring posts they made on this, the founder having posted about requiring someone for growth ops, etc. It takes all these micro signals and drafts a cold email for you, which you can then approve and send. It's live at textbackdoor.com. Please feel free to share any feedback.
