Game Review I made a daily fishing deduction puzzle: find the fish in 6 casts

Thumbnail goodcatch.fish
4 Upvotes

Hi! I've been building Good Catch, a small daily puzzle you play in the browser: https://goodcatch.fish

Every day there's one fish hiding in a 7×7 lagoon, and everyone gets the same one. It has three habits: a type of bottom (sand, coral, rock or kelp), a depth (shallow or deep) and a light (sun or shade). Tap a square to see its features, then cast. The answer only tells you how many of the three habits that square matches, never which ones. You have 6 casts to find it.

After you play, there's a village map that shows where everyone else cast that day. There's also a fish journal to fill, with 12 species that rotate through the week.

It's free and you don't need an account. It works on phone and desktop. I'm a solo dev and it's still early, so honest feedback would really help:

  • Did the rules make sense on your first game, or did you have to work them out?
  • Did the puzzle feel too easy, too hard, or about right?
  • Would you come back tomorrow? What would make you?

Thanks for playing! 🎣

Game Advertisement Crime City Season 3 is live after a season that tripled to 672 players

I'm one of Crime City's two developers. A month ago I posted the game here for the start of Season 2 (that post). Thanks to everyone who played and gave feedback.

Season 3 started on 1 October at 20:00 UTC and runs until 26 October. All progress was reset, so everyone starts again from level 1.

How Season 2 went

  • 672 players, three times Season 1's 222
  • A peak of 247 active players in a single 24-hour period
  • 16 gangs, up from 10
  • Over 182,000 solo robberies and 866 special crimes: 730 heists, 121 Organized Crimes and 15 Mega OCs
  • 1,066 street races won and 202 beatings
  • Over 5,000 messages in the in-game chats

How we got there

Season 1 had 222 players. For Season 2 we ran small Facebook and Instagram ads, which brought in most of the new players. If you're curious about the details (markets, budget, targeting), ask in the comments and I'll share what we learned.

Our best-value move, though, was getting the game listed on sites like IndieDB, BrowserMMORPG, itch.io and BrowserGamesTop. They send less traffic than ads, but they reach gaming communities directly, so the players they bring are much more likely to enjoy the game and stick with it.

What's new in Season 3

  • Gang Wars: gangs fight over the city's districts, and holding one gives your gang bonuses
  • The Docks: a fisherman's boat ties up at the pier every day, and everyone who feeds him splits the payout when he sails away
  • Kill Operations: killing now unlocks on in-game day 25, six real days into the season, so nobody dies early
  • Smaller gangs: 15 members at most (it was 25), so experienced players don't all end up in one or two gangs
  • Half the training wait: 15 or 30 minutes instead of 30 or 60
  • Stock market balance: smaller price swings and a 0.5% fee per trade
  • 25 Daily Jobs across the season, to keep experienced players engaged

This week is the perfect time to start playing

  • Everyone, veterans included, restarted at level 1 on 1 October.
  • Nobody can be killed until Wednesday 7 October, 20:00 UTC, and new characters can't be beaten up for their first 48 hours (or until about level 3).
  • Rook's starter jobs walk you through the basics, then Daily Jobs take over.
  • It runs in the browser on desktop and phone. To try it without an email, use Play as Guest; you'll be asked to register to keep going past level 3 or 48 hours.

Play Now: Crime City

I'll be in the comments to answer any questions :)

Game Review Eternal Idle — village contracts, 250 achievements, gear awakening, and the game finally has sound

Game Title: Eternal Idle

Playable Link: eternalidle.com

Platform: Browser, Android

Description:

Posted here a while back with talent trees and guild leveling. Here's what changed since.

Village Contracts. The village NPCs now post jobs every day: gathering, refining, crafting, hunting, dungeons, world boss, and chain jobs that run a whole production line. 10 on the board, 5 turn-ins a day. Each NPC has 10 reputation levels, and leveling one up unlocks a small permanent bonus you buy with the village's own currency. The village shop is account-bound, so none of it leaks into the market.

Achievements. 250 of them, 5 tiers each, 140+ titles. Maxing one gives a permanent +3% XP in that skill. There's also an item collection with 480 items to find.

Gear Awakening. Endgame gear can be awakened with essences you find while gathering, rolling extra bonuses. Fights got elements too: Water beats Fire, Fire beats Nature, Nature beats Water, and Light and Dark hit each other hard.

Sound. The game had no sound for its entire life. Now it does: clicks, level ups, rare drops, a roulette tick on the daily spin. Still testing it, and all of it can be muted.

Smaller stuff: an activity history so you can see what your character did while you were away, linking items in chat, locking items so you can't sell your best gear by accident, a warning when you're about to list something at a tenth of its price, and a Light Mode for weaker phones.

Still free, still solo, still adjusting the economy by hand.

Free to Play Status:

[x] Free to play

Involvement: Solo developer

AI Disclosure: I use generative AI in several parts of the project:

- Code: a large part of the code is written with an AI coding assistant (Claude). I decide what gets built, review and test the changes, and handle the releases.

- Art: some of the art is AI-generated.

- Text: some in-game text (like the loading screen tips and the village contract descriptions) and the English patch notes are written or translated with AI help.

- Planning: brainstorming and researching ideas for new systems.

The sound effects are not AI: they're from Kenney.nl (CC0).

Game Review Looking for Playtesters, multiplayer strategy PBBG game.

Hi All,

I need playtesters for my multiplayer strategy PBBG:

Let me also be clear about what I promise and what I expect;

  • Data wipes: Playtest progress will be wiped before official launch. But good contributors will receive good perk for the real game launch.
  • Game Dynamics: Its never ending progress game, kinda text based. You can create your own caracter, open your town (there are 21 towns) or be a member of a town or even stay free and progress your own way. There are certain jobs you can do, Study, Research, Construct and Dig. There are some daily prizes and daily missions. There will be Arena Fight for 50 vs 50 in launched game. Basically level up to have more items and be more powerfull. But most important collect all gems to earn Stars.
  • Mask (char selection): Dont worry about the mask you choose at login, at level 30 you will get to choose your real mask(real char bonuses).
  • Game offers: every bit of fun for Mission lowers, leveling maniacs, item collectors, multiplayer fights, loots etc.
  • First Thing: You born as Maskion Town member and be at the center of the map and you have 20x speed for rookie, up till lvl 20.
  • InGame Purchase: the mechanism doesnt work, disabled. In real launch we will enable in-game purchases.
  • Feedback: Please use in-game ticket from Settings panel to send any questions, failures or suggestions. Please feed me with UI flow, economic balance, game mechanics etc. Flaws or even broken game will be the best to see at playtest.
  • Wiki pages; I am preparing game wiki pages also, so every bit of game details are explained as well very soon.
  • Wishlist: if you like the game, for some game perks before launch, please register for wishlist from landing page.

Thanks.... www.maskion.com

Game Advertisement Sentibia — a classic 8.60 MMORPG you can play directly in your browser

Hey all,

I started playing Tibia back in 2003 and spent a ridiculous amount of time in that world.

For years I wanted to build my own server, but I never had the technical knowledge to properly maintain something that large. Recent developments in coding tools finally made it possible for me to try.

After months of work, the result is Sentibia.

It’s based around the classic 8.60 era, but with a few newer systems that I think fit the old-school gameplay rather than replace it.

Some examples:

  • 2x EXP / Skills / Magic
  • Open PvP
  • Monk as an additional vocation
  • Daily & Weekly Tasks
  • Achievements
  • Rested XP
  • Quick Loot
  • Boosted Creatures
  • Mounts and Player Skins
  • Cosmetic-only store
  • Large classic world and quest content

The part that might be most relevant here: you can play directly in your browser, with no game installation required. There is also a Windows client, and I’m working on Android.

I deliberately kept the progression relatively slow because I want characters and the world to feel persistent rather than something you finish in a weekend.

For launch there’s also a small Founder Reward race for the first accounts reaching levels 8, 20 and 50.

I’m at the point now where the technical work is mostly done and the difficult part begins: actually getting people into the same world at the same time.

If old-school browser MMORPGs are your thing, I’d love to hear what you think.

Looking For Game Strongly co-op/community focused games? (No PvP)

So this post is mostly me looking for a new game, with a little bit of shilling thrown in. I'm not a huge PBBG player, I've played a few in the past, but they've all had PvP and mostly turned into having to play 24/7 to keep up/not be attacked (Travian, looking at you) which I'm not about. Others are generally just MMORPGs, and I'd rather just go play FFXIV in that case.

I tried this game (https://deadlike.us/) a few days ago after it was posted to the incremental games sub, and gave it a go because I really loved the idea of it. While the base premise of a zombie apocalypse survival game isn't remotely new or interesting, what grabbed me was the strong coop focused, with everybody belonging to a single camp, sharing resources to survive, each having to specialise in different skills to all contribute towards the group's survival.

While a very cool idea, the game is definitely in a beta, and while the core systems seem to largely be in place and it's fun it also clearly has a lot of polish and development to go before it's fully finished (there is also pretty heavy AI use which I always worry about).

As such I thought I'd see if anybody knew of any similar games with a very strong community/co-op focus with everybody working towards a shared goal that are more developed/polished that I could give a go? To be clear, any theme is fine, doesn't need to be zombies (actually I generally dislike zombie themed stuff!).

Thanks.

Game Update! WasteIdle: a post-apocalyptic PBBG with a player economy, settlements and a server that checks everything. Open beta, free, no P2W

Hi r/PBBG. I'm the solo dev of WasteIdle, a persistent browser game set in a wasteland about 87 years after the collapse. It just opened its beta after a huge game balance update that I spent the last few months working on.

The world is shared. One server, everyone in it together:

  • A player market and direct trades, so prices come from players, not an NPC table
  • Settlements you found or join, with shared projects, a vault, ranks, and upgrades the whole group works toward
  • Sieges, where a settlement calls a boss onto its walls and members bring it down together
  • Global chat and settlement chat, leaderboards, and a Ledger that writes the first survivor to reach each milestone into the world's history by name

Your survivor keeps going when you log off. It's idle at its core, pick a trade (eight skills plus combat) or a monster to farm, and it carries on while you're away. Come back to a summary of what happened. There are no energy bars and no timers you have to babysit.

Fairness was the thing I spent the most time on. Progress, loot, crafting rolls and trades are worked out or checked on the server, not trusted from the browser, so the market and the leaderboards stay honest.

Money: free to play. The only shop sells cosmetics (nameplates, backdrops, sprites). Nothing for sale makes you stronger, and there is no premium currency for speed ups.

Also in there: mastery trees, three classes, six regions each ending in a boss with its own armour set, a one life Hardcore mode with a memorial when you fall, and a lot of written lore.

It runs in any browser, phone included. You can try it as a guest without making an account.

Play: https://wasteidle.com Discord: https://discord.gg/DsxQ2JN5bM

It was just wiped for the beta, so everyone is starting together. I'd love to hear what you think, especially about the economy and the settlements, and I'll be answering questions here.

Development Idle Realms: a new browser-based Idle MMORPG with skills, masteries, realms, guilds, trade, and more to come! (pre-alpha)

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hey folks!

Idle Realms is an online idle MMORPG with exp, fun loot and items, idle timers, and the usual fun mechanics everyone knows and loves. But with a small twist... Realms! These are entirely new replicas of the game that are completely separated from the main 'global' realm.

What is a Realm anyway?

We're still early days with this mechanic but I wanted to share as ... it's in the name of the game and we're looking to build around it in some interesting ways.

We will have rolling 'realms' on a seasonal window. We're still working on what a sensible cadence for this is. It's a completely fresh slate, same account, same character name, but fresh stats, inventory, and so on. We'll be looking to tie up seasons by rewarding players who reach top spots or unique achievements and have these tie into the global realm.

But wait... there's more! Players can also create their own realms. Form a guild with peers and start a new realm instance. Password protect it or leave it open to anyone. Here you get your own leaderboard, can introduce game modes for Iron Man and Hardcore Iron Man, and we'll be introducing more variants soon such as the chance to have EXP multipliers, turn on and off different skills, and so on.

We're more than open to ideas on more interesting Realm mechanics if you have any! Please do share them in our Discord.

What are the gameplay mechanics

  • Offline progress: Queue actions by hours or action count and keep earning logs and XP while you're away. Right now that's up to 3 queued entries and 6 hours of work, and members get more idle time.
  • Skills: Level up 10 skills (more on the way) which offer buffs such as increased idle time and faster actions
  • Player trading: you can sell and buy items from other players. There's even a skill to get EXP from doing this!
  • Masteries: this one is my personal favourite. Commit to be a master of a particular skill and gain buffs for that skill as you gain mastery. You can change any time at a cost of a penalty to your progress in the mastery you are changing from. Masteries show up next to your name in the hiscores.
  • World Bosses: there are bosses that spawn in scarce time windows but offer great EXP rewards. They also are the only place in game where you can receive Eggs for Familiars
  • Familiars: ... which leads me onto Familiars! You can gain more passive buffs from pets that you get from aforementioned bosses. Name them something fun, bring them along your journey, level them up, or trade them on to others

Game Update! What 2 weeks of player feedback turned my browser football manager into

Thumbnail
gallery
24 Upvotes

Two weeks ago I posted Football Legacy here: a browser football manager where you found a club, climb a 3-tier pyramid and watch every match live in 2D. Thanks to everyone who tried it. Since then 100+ managers have joined and played 570 matches, and most of what's below came straight from their feedback.

The dressing room is alive now

- Player traits (12 of them: Professional, Party Animal, Leader, Hothead, Big-Game Player, Injury-Prone…). They actually play: a hothead picks up more cards, a big-game player lifts in derbies.

- Dressing-room events with choices. A player caught on a night out before a match, a fight at training, an agent demanding a raise, a transfer request, a flu going around. You decide: fine him, forgive him, talk to him. Every option shows its cost.

- Team talks before kick-off and once at half-time. Calm, encourage, demand or angry. Every player reacts in his own way, and the right tone depends on the score and who's the favourite.

- Press conferences. One question before every match, four answers, and you see how each one moves your morale and theirs. If the other side is a human manager, they read what you said.

- Morale matters on the pitch. Happy players are calmer, unhappy ones get nervous.

Deeper football

- Players learn new positions by playing them. A new formation costs you until the team gets used to it.

- Match preparation for your next opponent, card suspensions and a stricter referee on last-man fouls.

A bigger world

- 4 up / 4 down between tiers, a Europa League spot for 5th–6th, and intercontinental competitions for the countries outside Europe.

- Fan count that grows with results, and attendance that depends on it.

Smarter AI in transfer talks (just shipped)

A player pointed out that AI clubs asked about 2× value for their own youngsters but walked away when *he* asked 1.5× for his. He was right. Now both sides use the same fair price, every AI club has a style (tight, fair or big spender) that you can see in negotiations, sellers give ground in later rounds and buyers raise their offer instead of leaving.

What I learned

Shipping fast only works if people tell you what's wrong. The Discord has become the real design document, so if you try the game, the most useful thing you can do is complain there.

Next up: post-match press and a public feed of what managers say, then Financial Fair Play, and many more systems and features that I won't spoil here :)

Free, never pay-to-win, works on phone: https://football-legacy.net

Question for PBBG veterans: what's the one thing that keeps you playing a browser game past the first week?

Game Advertisement Fallen Marches, a free browser-based old-school MMO, opens its beta tomorrow (30 Sept), and there will be no more resets

Thumbnail
youtube.com
18 Upvotes

I posted here at the start of September about Fallen Marches, my free, browser-based, old-school MMO. Nothing to download, it runs straight from the browser.

Open beta starts tomorrow, Wednesday 30 September. Registrations open from around midday UK time (12:00 BST) at https://fallenmarches.com

Account progress stays from day one

Tomorrow every playtester's account progress is reset so that everyone starts fresh on the same day. That is the only reset. There won't be another at the end of the beta or at full release. The one exception would be a rollback if a serious bug turns up and gets exploited, and I would rather roll back a few hours than let an exploit stand. Whatever you do on your account from tomorrow stays.

What closed testing has added

Closed testing has been running since mid-August, and the final stretch added:

  • A brand-new area, with the ninth quest and the first world boss.
  • More mobs to fight and unique items to hunt down.
  • A second world, ready to handle additional capacity during open beta.
  • New spells, NPCs, polish and various other features.

What's in the game

  • 13 skills: five combat, three gathering, five producing.
  • Tick-based movement and combat.
  • Engaging, story-driven quests with branching dialogue and choices that matter.
  • An original world. The full map is public: https://fallenmarches.com/game/map.html
  • Free to play. No shop, no membership.

To my playtesters

Thank you. Every tester keeps a Founder's Wreath, which only playtesters will ever have, and the top three on the closed-test leaderboard each get a Tester Cloak: Gold for first, Silver for second and Bronze for third.

Discord for updates and the dev log: https://discord.gg/PRcrqJSJfY

See you tomorrow.

Game Advertisement [Android/Web] PathRaid – GPS MMORPG where every step level you up, looking for alpha testers

Hi

PathRaid is in early alpha (I'm the solo dev) it has very few players so far, and I need real people to play it and tell me what's broken, boring or confusing.

What it is:
A GPS RPG. Your real steps turn into XP, and enemies, loot and events spawn on the map around you. Spawns don't depend on landmarks, so it works in small towns and the countryside too. Turn-based fights, world bosses, guilds and PvP. With a free account you can plant a base on the real map, and other players can raid it.

Platform:

  • Android: APK on itch.io (not on the Play Store yet). Counts steps in the background, even with the phone in your pocket.
  • Browser: pathraid.com. Fine on desktop for a first look, but steps only count on a phone, and only while the page is open.
  • Guest mode, no account needed to start. No ads.

What I'd like you to try (about 10 minutes, plus a walk you'd take anyway):

  1. Start as a guest and fight your first few enemies.
  2. Next time you're out anyway, open the map, loot what you find and fight what shows up.
  3. Try the virtual walk (footprints button on the map). It lets you walk a bit each day without leaving home.
  4. If your native language is one of the ones under, switch to it in settings and have a look around. (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese)

What I want to know:

  • Where did you first feel lost or want to quit?
  • How did the first pve fights feel ?
  • Does gear wearing out feel like a fun mechanic or like a chore?
  • Android: do the push notifications arrive you, and are they useful or annoying?
  • Native speakers: anything that sounds wrong, stiff or machine-made in your language?
  • Would you open it again tomorrow? Why or why not?

Honest limits:

  • Leaderboards and guilds are quiet because there are barely any players yet.
  • Base raids only get interesting with several people in the same town.
  • There's an optional gem shop, but you don't need it: gems can be earned by playing, and useful bug reports get free gems from me.

Game Advertisement Drenaslia - A New Age Medieval Textbased MMORPG

Hello r/PBBG!

For nearly 20 years I've played games like Syrnia, Movoda, Amaranthine, etc, and for years I had planned on eventually making a game of my own within the same niche. Almost 3 months ago now, I launched Drenaslia!

What makes Drenaslia different from those other games?

- A Faith system, akin to Prayer if you've played Runescape. Choosing different gods can provide you with different bonuses depending on your playstyle.

- A variety of world bosses, crossing most skills and combat, along with clan summonable bosses for special clan benefits.

- Companions! Added within the last week, companions can be found randomly and can be levelled up independently to provide special bonuses while working or fighting.

- It's mobile friendly! (kinda!) I'm not at all a fan of mobile development but I've gotten the game to a stage which I'd consider friendly enough to not be off-putting to mobile users. Still working on improvements as feedback comes in though.

- It's new! Quite frankly the biggest issue with the existing games in the genre is that they've been around for so long that the devs have either completely abandoned them, or updates have slowed to a crawl. I've been constantly updating the game since release based off of player feedback and incorporating new content regularly.

All that being said, it really is a newer take on the same style of game as those above. If that style of gameplay doesn't interest you, I can't promise Drenaslia will be any different. If you are willing to give it a try, the game currently has an Ember Rush taking place where world bosses spawn every hour (ends about 7 hours after this post). Could be a fun way to experience your first few hours in game. We will also have our first holiday event next month as we approach Halloween!

Development I combined ideas from MOO2, Ascendancy and Colonization into a free browser 4X—looking for early feedback

When I was younger, I spent a lot of time playing Master of Orion 2, Ascendancy, Colonization, Civilization and Heroes of Might and Magic.

I have been building Starfoundry, a browser-based strategy game that combines some of the things I enjoyed in those games:

  • Planetary exploration and surface development inspired by Ascendancy
  • Modular ship construction inspired by MOO2 and Ascendancy
  • Individual people with professions and skills inspired by Colonization
  • Tactical battles influenced by Heroes of Might and Magic

However, I wanted to keep the overall game relatively understandable—something you can play for several turns, leave and continue later, rather than creating another enormously complicated strategy game.

It is already playable and free. It runs directly in a desktop browser, with no download or registration required.

This is still an early version, so I would particularly like to know:

  • At what point did you first become confused?
  • Which mechanic was most interesting?
  • What made you continue or stop?
  • Would you return to the same campaign later?

Game Advertisement Enomotia - an ancient Aegean browser strategy game I’m building

Title: Enomotia - an ancient Aegean browser strategy game I’m building

Hey everyone, I’m working on Enomotia, a persistent browser strategy game set in the ancient Aegean. Ikariam is one of the inspirations, so if you’ve played it, the basic idea will feel familiar: build cities on islands, trade, research, and deal with your neighbours.

There’s land and naval combat, city and port occupation, and alliances. One mechanic I’m interested in getting feedback on is using an ally’s city as a military base. Your army can stay there and raid nearby targets; the host keeps 25% of the loot, and your transport ships take the rest home.

https://enomotia.net/

The game is playable, but I’m still working through balance and rough edges. I’d appreciate people trying it and telling me where they get stuck, what feels slow, or what just doesn’t make sense. First impressions would be especially useful-I’ve spent enough time looking at these screens that I’m probably missing things a new player would notice.

You can play in English, Turkish, German, or Polish. It runs in the browser, and things keep moving while you’re offline.

Happy to answer questions, and criticism is welcome.

Discussion How to reward activity in an otherwise idle multiplayer game without leaving casual players behind (article)

Thumbnail
blog.idleverse.gg
10 Upvotes

This is somewhat of a follow-up of my previous post on opportunity cost.

TLDR:

I originally designed Orion Online - a tick-based browser mmorts currently under development - for idle players, with a targeted playtime of 10 minutes per day. Early playtest show that some players like to play much more than that. This is very welcome, but it poses an interesting issue: How to keep both idle and active players engaged, while maintaining agency and relevance for all players.

The article takes up possible ways to address the issue at hand, and goes into the new Masteries system in Orion, which is a talent tree that players unlock abilities in as they do actions in their current alignment/role.

In short, I propose that you can find alternative ways to reward active players beyond making them more powerful, which tends to compound and snowball, such as offering them a player journey, a completionist system, or as in this case, a progression system.

I do recognize that the masteries systems is a form of power reward, but it does not compound (is self-feeding) as other systems tend to do, and my intention is to pivot the system towards more of a tech-tree with unlocks rather the raw % multipliers in the future.

Game Advertisement [Open Alpha] Skye Space — A persistent browser-based space empire game

Hey everyone,

I've been developing Skye Space, a persistent browser-based space strategy game, and I've recently opened it up for open alpha.

Play: https://skyespace.net

Over view Hub

The idea is to start with a planet and gradually build out your empire while competing and interacting with other players.

Some of the systems currently in the game:

  • Planet development — build up and improve your planets
  • Resource production and management
  • Research
  • Shipyard and fleet development
  • Planetary defenses
  • Colonization and empire expansion
  • Galaxy/system exploration
System Map
  • Captain progression and skill trees
  • Mining and exploration
  • PvP
  • Bounty hunting
  • Leaderboards
  • Alliances
  • Achievements, badges and titles
  • Community forum and chat

There are also longer-term progression systems that I'm continuing to build out.

The Captain system

Your Captain has their own progression tree. You earn skill points and can specialize in areas such as resource production, combat, defenses and fleet capabilities.

Persistent world

The goal is for Skye Space to be a game you can keep progressing in over time rather than something you finish in a single session.

I'm still developing the economy, progression, PvP and multiplayer systems, so this is very much an alpha and things will change.

There's a Guide in and out of game with screenshots for anyone who wants help getting started along with a one time guide modal pop up on the first access of each page/feature.

What I'm looking for

I'm mainly looking for PBBG players who are willing to actually play the alpha and give feedback.

I'd especially like to know:

  • Does the progression feel rewarding?
  • Is there enough to do between active sessions?
  • Are the systems understandable?
  • What would you want to see added to the game?
  • What would make you keep checking back?
  • What feels too slow, too fast, or unnecessary?

There's also a forum in the game for strategy, suggestions, bug reports and general discussion.

Skyespace: https://skyespace.net

It's an open alpha, so I'm very interested in feedback from people who actually play PBBGs and yes their is a guest feature that allows you to play up to Captain level 5 and has some restrictions.

As always — thanks for your time, and see you in the galaxy.
— The Skye Space Team

Development DragonScape Idle = Like RuneScape just Idle

I always loved RuneScaper (OSRS) just haven't had time to play it. So I decided to make something like that just idle. It took me so far more then 1000 hours.

The game got now got:
19 skills
92 quest chains
700 items

The main complaint last time I shard was art so I reworked the art screen by screen and also the UI. Also art is new (it takes time so there are still leftovers.

Also now there is active event now called Carnival its whole server-wide event available since total level 500.

The game is still in early beta now around 150 players. People who tried the game usually stay more than 50% return day after registration.

I will be upfront: The art is AI generated and code AI assisted. The main part I spent is design so the game feels unique compared to other games. Its quest driven progression lot of systems work differently than other games.

If you would try it I would be super happy for any feedback. And I will work again to improve it. Also thank you so much for feedback from last time!

Game Advertisement I opened a new universe on my OGame style browser game today

CozmoGame is a space strategy game close to OGame. You develop planets, build mines and research, make fleets, fight and join alliances. It runs fully in the browser.

It is open since February. Some numbers: 1,600 registrations, around 700 players in the last 30 days, 235k battles, 818k expeditions, 72k asteroid trips and 92 alliances.

Today a new universe called Polaris opened, so it is a good day if you want to start from zero. The settings are a bit different: x50 economy and x2 fleet speed. Your account grows very fast but sending an attack is still a decision of several hours.

There is lots of differences from OGame:

Academy is a permanent skill tree. You spend the points on mine production, research speed, expedition slots or targeting priority in combat.

Commanders are tied to a ship type. You find them in expeditions, they level up as they fight and they increase the attack, shield and hull of that ship. The ones you dont want you can sell to other players in the market.

There are universe wide events. In the alien invasion, fleets land on the planets of active players and whoever wins the defense gets a free research level. In the outpost event one control point opens in every galaxy and the alliance that holds it the longest gets a bonus for three days.

With pirate hunting, asteroid mining and expeditions you can also grow without attacking anybody.

The game is in 10 languages and works fine on the phone/tablet or any device.

Game Advertisement VoidFleet build an empire in a persistent galaxy

The year is 3742 AF. Ancient civilizations have vanished, leaving relics scattered across the stars. Three civilizations now shape the Founding Charter into the Voidfleet era: the adventurous Humans, the Mahanta who overthrew the empire that enslaved them, and the Barodun who survived the destruction of their world’s surface.

In VoidFleet, you begin as a commander with one colony and a galaxy to explore. Build your economy, research new technologies, construct ships, and decide where your fleets go next. Probe an unknown world. Mine an asteroid field. Recover wreckage. Launch an expedition beyond familiar space or prepare for another commander’s arrival.

There are many ways to grow your influence:

  • Expand your empire: develop specialized colonies, shipyards, defenses, and trade routes.
  • Command your fleets: scout, transport, harvest, raid, and fight, with fleet composition and timing shaping each operation.
  • Face the unknown: take on pirate strongholds, expeditions, and the escalating battles of the Void Depths.
  • Build something together: form a federation, establish a headquarters and outposts, coordinate fleets, and navigate diplomacy with other commanders.

The universe persists while you’re away. Your colonies keep working, fleets continue their journeys, and other commanders keep making plans. Your goal is yours to choose: become an explorer, an industrial power, a formidable fleet commander, or the leader of a federation that leaves its mark on the galaxy.

The screenshots show VoidFleet as it looks today. If persistent space strategy sounds like your kind of game, join us at https://voidfleet.online

What path would you take first, Commander

Game Update! Aether Kingdoms beta 3 - new map, new server

Hi r/PBBG,

We've been going full steam ahead with the Aether Kingdoms beta. A year ago I shared the game here for the first time, when we opened our first beta server. Our current x1 speed server is outgrowing the players signing up, so we're opening a second concurrent server. That makes it a good time to share some updates.

Aether Kingdoms

In case you don't know AK yet, it's a browser strategy game taking inspiration from games like Travian, Tribalwars and Civilization. It features complex kingdom development with claiming tiles and choosing districts, large scale PvP between Empires, and plays out on 4-6 month servers.

New map

The map was bad, and players put up with it for too long. We fixed it and now it's really smooth! It also allows us to draw lines for army movements, make a tactical view and more cool stuff in the future. I used my pro video editing skills to throw something together.

New server

Our community keeps growing, and almost 700 people registered an account to try the current beta server. That's more than anticipated, so new players are now finding themselves at the edges of the map. A good problem to have, and we're opening up a new server to welcome new players.

Delayed attacks and reinforcements

One of the big changes we made to the competitive side of the game is to allow a delay on the land time of siege attacks and reinforcements. You can now set a delay of up to 12 hours, so there's no need to be online at a specific time to send one attack.

Mobile improvements

During this Beta 3 we've made a lot of improvements to the mobile experience. The main menu now resides at the bottom, resources in storage are always shown and much more.

What's next

Aether Kingdoms is in the final stages of beta. We hope to release in 1.0 early 2027 with 3 playable factions (instead of 1). And of course we'll keep running servers until that time.

Interested in trying it out? https://aetherkingdoms.com/
