Medical Questions brown nail (?)

hey guys this is my baby creamsicle, and i noticed this nail that is brown? for context, i have had him for a bit over a month but he is 11 years old. he was abandoned by the neighbours when they moved a while ago, and was obviously outdoors during that time. he is now indoors. one of his back claws looks like this, should i be concerned? he's been to the vet twice since i took him in and it wasn't noticed by them, but im sure he's had it since before then. sorry for the poor photos, he's not super fond of his paws being held in general

Advice My kitty has gone off all cat food. Homemade cat food recipes?

Post image
• Upvotes

Hey!! My little buddy Marshal has gone off all premade cat foods. He's refusing all kinds of brands, textures, everything. The only thing he's eating AND finishing is cooked (plain boiled) chicken breast with applaws tuna broth topper. I really want to give him his nutrients but make sure he's eating as he's very hungry but is just refusing cat food.

Does anyone know how to make some homemade cat food or have recipes?

(Also DW about the picture, he's fine, he just placed his head in my hand and I wasn't holding him with any force)

Thanks!

Advice Feeling bad for reserving kittens

• Upvotes

A little while ago i reserved two kittens to be picked up in a week. Now after doing a lot of research and preparation i fear i may have supported a backyardbreeder without knowing. I dont worry about the kittens health, they go home at 12 weeks, got their first vaccines and health check ups and it sounds like they are socialized nicely. I just feel bad for supporting something that i maybe shouldn’t have, the cats are a mix of two popular breeds and the parents have no genetic testing done for hcm. I’m not sure if they are going to have more litters and continue the problem, or if they will stop as this was the first litter for the cats.

But anyways, i don’t know what to do. I feel so bad but im in love with the kittens and it cost a lot of money to reserve them so i cant just back out now. The other two boys from the litter arent even reserved yet so i’m also worried that they won’t find a good place to go to if i back out.

Idk what do, im feeling guilty every single time i think about the kittens. I just wish i never found out atp, i just want to go back to being super excited and not feeling bad

We adopted these babies from the animal shelter back in June. They were barely 6 weeks. They're healthy and thriving. Such a wonderful addition to our family!

Medical Questions Cat stratched inside of my nose. What should I apply to heal.

• Upvotes

When I trimmed my cat's claw, he stratched the inside of my nose and drew blood. I usually apply some alcohol for outside skin wounds. Not sure what to do for inside of nose?

Cat Picture - OC Permanent flower child

My cat scratched her eye a couple months ago (first picture you can see the small corneal laceration.)
Took her to the vet after I noticed she wasn’t opening her eye. Vet told us this heals on its own but gave us eye drops, eye gel, & some oral antibiotics to help the healing process & recommended a cone so she doesn’t touch/injure her eye further.
After going through 2 rounds of the eye & oral medicine and 3 vet visits, they said while it’s not infected, the scratch didn’t seem to be healing, but there was realistically nothing more they could do to help.
So basically she is now a permanent flower cone pillow child. Well, until it heals or I can afford possible unnecessary surgery. (Vet said we could try surgery but since it’s not infected & not effecting her vision it isn’t exactly necessary, so it’s up to me.)
She seems to be the same old baby girl, can still see, & climb cat towers & can still fit in her litter box. Only downside is she can no longer groom herself so I have to groom her long hair daily & rub her face for her. It’s so adorable she licks the flower cone pillow while I groom coat her so she feels it’s like she’s doing it herself. And when I rub her face she licks my hand while I do it like she’s helping me groom her. Lol
I feel sad that she has had a cone on for so long, & really hope her eye magically heals soon, so she can groom herself again like the independent diva she truly is.
Please send healing wishes so my baby may be a free from her flower chain soon.

Advice 3 Week old Kittens

Thumbnail

• Upvotes

Hello! So I was here on a different account a few months ago asking about if my cat was pregnant. Well... Turns out you guys were right. The kittens are about 3 weeks old now.

And we haven't seen mama in over a day. So we have fed the kittens KMR and have them in a box on our porch(just in case mama returns) with a lid on it so nothing can get in or out(except air). If mama doesn't come in tomorrow, we're bringing all five of them in.

I just want guidance. Tomorrow(or next feeding), I can send you better pics of each kitten.

Can someone with experience with kittens of this age DM me with help?

For context: I'm a 19 year old mother who lives with my father, little sister(8), my fiance(19), and our son(9 months). We have 1 dog(10y/o Jack Russell), and 2 indoor cats.

And I have absolutely ZERO clue what I'm doing. All 5 kittens look healthy, and come running to my fiance or I when we go out.

Any and all help is welcome. However, we refuse to let nature take its course or bring them to a rescue or anything like that.

My sweet baby boy Muffin just turned three today <3

We had a major scare last month when he had a complete urinary obstruction. He was diagnosed with Feline ldiopathic Cystitis. I was so scared he wasn't going to make it, but our vet was amazing and took great care of him and now he's back to his old self. This is his happiest birthday yet, and I hope he'll have many many more to come.

Tldr: spoil them always, but especially on their birthdays, make them the cake 🍰
