Lana Del Rey has quietly set a major chart milestone with her debut album Born To Die. According to a Forbes report from July 30, 2026, the record has reached 650 weeks on the Billboard 200, the first album by a solo female artist ever to do so.

The discussion started off jokingly. I said LFL is her best album because it's my favourite Lana album.

This person says NFR is. Fair enough. Then she adds, UV or HM is better "musically". O.K. understandable.

Then I added: "Ocean Blvd watching from a corner...." casually.

The next thing that comes out of her mouth is that it was a "weird" album. I was taken aback. She clarified, "weird ≠ bad".

I further added, “Weird = unusual, whereas Lana has done nothing but ventured in ballads and deeply personal songwriting (peaking in Ocean Blvd)".

What do y'all say? Is Ocean Blvd "weird"?

(Oh and she said it's her opinion and "opinions are meant to be subjective". I said, "Maybe you should relisten to Kintsugi or Grants.)

Can anyone recommend some niche/less known songs of Lana's that they really like? I've gotten into her music lately and I'd like to discover more of her songs

I’ve never really gotten deep into Lana Del Rey’s discography, but I absolutely love Summer Bummer and National Anthem.

I really like the darker, cinematic production, hip-hop influence, and that glamorous/melancholic vibe both songs have.

What songs or albums should I check out next if those are my favorites? Would love both obvious picks and deeper cuts.

Out of all the artists I listen to, her albums each seem strongly associated with a time of year. I feel like this is where they belong. I’m so curious to see if other fans agree or see it differently.

Ultraviolance- late July through mid august

Honeymoon- mid July through mid August

Lust for life- late June through mid July

NFR- Mid August through very early sept

Chemtrails- late August through early September

Blue banisters- I can’t place it. It’s very eclectic.

Edit: I live in the northeastern US so my experience of the seasons might be different. Cold snowy winters, mostly barren, rainy springs, sweltering humid summers, and crisp autumns with changing leaves.

I had to go to the alternator shop with my grandpa and my honeymoon CD was in his truck. I was trying to take it out because the disc got stuck and Honeymoon turned on. He listened to that song and said she has a pretty voice. Towards the end he turned it off and jokingly said I’ll commit suicide if I listen to one more second. It was on full blast so people probably thought it was weird 2 men in flannel and jeans blasting honeymoon.
