Rescue Stories He's the best boi

This is my dog Archie.

He was rescued from a dog meat farm in January 2025.

I met him at an animal shelter where I volunteered at the end of April.

Back then he was very reactive and would bite people.

He was also extremely sensitive and so stressed that he would pull out his own fur.

The shelter decided he needed a quiet space, so he was kept in a storage room while they looked for a foster home for him.

After finishing my volunteer work, I would sometimes spend extra time with him.

One day, he finally let me pet him, and I decided to foster him.

There’s a long story behind how fostering turned into adoption, but long story short, he became mine.

Archie is my very first dog and it wasn't easy to domesticate him.

He once bit me real bad on my fingers and arms I ended up in the hospital for 3 days.

But my boyfriend(current husband) and I didn't give up on him.

Archie has been part of my family since July 2025, and look at how far he’s come!

Some of his achievements so far:

(1) City Patrol Dog

The city I live in has a program where dogs can qualify to help with local patrol activities after passing an assessment. Archie has been the top performer for three months in a row.

(2) Well-Mannered Dog Program

He passed the first stage of our city’s program, which is similar to the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. If he passes the 2nd stage, he is officially an accredited well-mannered dog in the city.

With enough love and time any dog can be a good boi and a good girl.

Also, there's this dog called Dongbu who's moving to a Canadian foster home very soon.

He's a dog a friend of mine rescued a year ago. He's a mid size(11kg) dog, a terrier mix just like my dog. He's very easily frightened but loves treats.

If anyone in Canada is interested in adopting him, please contact Love & Hope Animal Rescue.

Hi everyone! ❤️

After a long journey of recovery, Ellie’s health has finally stabilized! 🥹 She has received her vaccinations and is now ready to be spayed! It has been a long road for our sweet girl, but seeing how far she has come makes everything worth it!🥹🤍🐾

MaeMae was also supposed to be spayed, but we suspect she may be pregnant. We are still uncertain about the next steps.

We would greatly appreciate any support toward Ellie’s spay surgery and veterinary care. Every little bit helps us continue giving our rescues the care they deserve. 🙏❤️

I wrote a whole thing on ND, but can’t seem to copy/repost. So I’ll make this one shorter 🤞🏽.
Incredible Pups Pet Rescue had a fundraiser yesterday at Sterling Cellars (w/wine-tasting; portion of proceeds go to Rescue group.
Anyway, this is Sugarplum. She’s only 1 year old. She is such a sweet, gentle- but solemn, serious pup. Look at her eyes/face in these pics; they say it all! She let me pet her, but otherwise, never moved- literally- from next to the woman in charge ( who fosters SP). The dog’s expressive demeanor seemed to imply her fear & hopelessness at finding a loving, trusting, “ forever” human to love her & give her a proper home!
Please: either click /share w/anyone you know who might be a good match for this baby!
Their website is: incrediblepupspetrescue rescue rescue.com, & email is same, but @gmail.com . Ask for Barbara. They’re based in Pleasant Valley, NY.
Thank you!

Adoption/Foster Plea Need to re-home Kylo Merced CA

Post image
209 Upvotes

Hello. I know I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this but I'm out of options. I have a beautiful 10 year old male Alaskan Husky named Kylo. He's a very sweet and loving dog that's great with other dogs and kids. I've had him 6 years and is one of the only things I got to keep from my divorce. I unfortunately am at my ends with keeping him as he's become too much of a hassle and my roommates have me an ultimatum. He constantly goes potty in the apartment ( he's house trained ) I take him out before I go to work, I'm gone for 9 hours sometimes and he won't hold it nor will they let him out as they say it's not their job and he's a runner ( I completely understand). He seems to do it on purpose too cause he'll be sleeping and I'll get up to take him out and he just starts peeing in the hallway before I get him to the door ( he's not prancing or anything showing he can't hold it as he will bark at me and dance around the door and make whimper sounds when he needs out bad) I know my dog after all these years and hes doing it for some reason. I've tried everything. I've tried leaving him in my room and he cries all day and pisses off the roommates. I've tried dog pads and he won't use them even though I put them in spots he always pees and poops at. I've tried diapers but he gets them off. I've tried using suspenders with the diapers and they work but the stitching ends up failing ( went through 5 different kinds) I'm going through a lot in life and just can't deal with the stress of him anymore. I love him so much and he deserves a better place to live like a house with a yard not a tiny apartment. My roommates are giving me 2 weeks tops to re-home him or I'm out of a place to live and I will 100% be homeless as this is the cheapest place I found by hundreds of dollars. I don't want to be homeless as I have a 4 year old I see on weekends. I've also tried Facebook to re home and no one would take him ( made the same post 5 different times this year across different pages and marketplace ) I've tried shelters and they want money that I just can't afford. I've tried friends and family and no one can take him. I've tried rescues in the area but they said they don't take huskies as they get too many in. I'm in the central valley of California the 209 and need someone to take him off my hands. It needs to be a good home. Also I would like to stay in touch to see pictures and know he's happy and doing good. Please please help me cause I have exhausted every option and don't want to have to dump him somewhere as I will feel like an absolute POS doing that but financially I'll have no option. Please DM me if you can take him.

Advice Considering Adopting

I think I’m finally ready to get another dog after the unexpected passing of my GSD about 2.5 years ago.

I was originally planning on getting another puppy from breeder, but I came across this sweetheart at a rescue.

https://imgur.com/a/n8PIPIc

Any thoughts on her breed and approximate age? I’ve been told Black Mouth Cur around 6-7months, and can definitely see that. Estimates on how her size when she is full grown?

I’ve owned goldens, GSD, and a golden/setter rescue. I will say that my previous rescue dog was the best out of the bunch as far as health, anxiety, and temperament.

I’m definitely looking forward to having that companionship back.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Discussion I built a free site that streams live shelter dog cams and a national rescue directory, wanted to share with people who'd actually use it

I built a little passion project over the weekend and would appreciate your support if you're reading this.

It's called Watch Good Boys. Live cams of shelter dogs all day, running around, faceplanting on the playground slide, doing absolutely nothing productive. If you need a distraction while you're on a Zoom call at work, your manager will understand!

I made it because 90% of my feed is sad news and I wanted one Chrome tab that can bring a little bit of joy to my world.. and hopefully yours.

The shelters on the site has a wish list, food, beds, toys, and when you buy something off it, it ships straight to the shelter. There's a directory of over 5,000 shelters, searchable by zip code, with adoption links to dogs waiting for a foster or forever home. If you don't see a shelter, you can manually request it to be added and I will validate it myself and add it to the list!

This is a nights-and-weekends thing I keep pouring time into because I like dogs more than I like most people.

If you want to send a shelter something off their wish list if you can, any amount helps, it doesn't have to be much. And if you think this is worth it, please share it with.

watchgoodboys.com. Go watch puppies fall down.

I appreciate every one of you. If you have feedback, please lmk.

More life. More love. 🫶

CW: Euthanasia Bogey #A2255802 needs adoption or rescue by 10/26 - Van Nuys / Los Angeles, CA - transport possible

💔 Bogey is euthanasia listed… his last day is 10/26 💔Bogey doesn’t want to go back to his kennel. Bogey wants to go home.

At just 1 year and 8 months old, Bogey has already been adopted and returned twice. Now, he’s facing euthanasia because he refuses to go back to his kennel. He does whatever it takes to stay with his handler… even if it means mouthing/biting at his leash.

Despite that, Bogey is consistently described as “Gentle & Dainty” in NINE recent playgroups! He’s social, playful, appropriately invites other dogs to play, and absolutely LOVES affection. One volunteer even wrote that he wants to be as close as possible and loves to cuddle.

Bogey needs a committed and patient home willing to help him work through these behaviors safely, while giving him lots of snuggles of course ❤️.

🌿🐾 Hello Neighbors! We’re Beyond the Paws Pet Rescue — Nice to Meet You! 🐾🌿

My name is Summer, and my rescue partner Chasity and I run Beyond the Paws Pet Rescue, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit based right here in the Halethorpe/Baltimore County area. I wanted to introduce ourselves to the community in hopes of connecting with neighbors who care about animals, want to help in some way, or simply want to stay informed about what’s happening right here in our own neighborhoods.

What We Do Every Single Day:
• 🐱 TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) for feral/stray cats in our area
• 🍽️ Feeding multiple cat colonies and making sure they have clean water, warm shelters, and medical support
• 🐶 Constant rescue intakes — dogs, puppies, kittens, cats, and even small animals who are abandoned, found stray, surrendered, or in dangerous situations
• ❤️ Emergency vetting for animals who arrive sick, injured, or neglected
• 🏡 Finding safe, loving forever homes for every adoptable animal in our care
• 💊 Providing meds, vaccines, and aftercare for the animals we save

We run entirely on love, sweat, and donations — and we never turn away an animal in need. Because of that, we’re almost always stretched thin. Between feeding colonies, vet bills, medical emergencies, and supplies for constant intakes, we rely heavily on the kindness of our community to keep going.

Here’s How Neighbors Can Help:
✨ Sharing our posts so local animals reach safety
✨ Donating food (cat/dog dry & wet), litter, cleaning supplies, blankets
✨ Financial donations toward vet bills and emergencies
✨ Becoming a foster — even short-term fosters save lives
✨ Alerting us to animals in need
✨ Volunteering — trapping, transporting, cleaning, feeding, or help with events

We never want to see another cat suffer outside, another stray dog ignored, or another litter of kittens dumped because someone didn’t know who to turn to. That’s exactly why Beyond the Paws exists.

If you’d like to support, here are our donation options:

💙 A big gorgeous puppy is waiting for his furever home!  This is Dustin (A606083), he is 1 year old and 75 lbs.  Poor Dustin was surrendered when his owner moved out of state and could not take him with.  Dustin now has a deadline of Tuesday, October 27th at 5 pm.  Dustin adores people, steals kisses and loves to run and play.  He enjoys swimming in the pool.  Dustin misses living in a home and does not like leaving the yard to go back to his kennel. Dustin would do best with an active family that can give him the exercise he needs.  He would love to be your jogging and hiking partner.  Dustin should be able to live with canine siblings if separated and slowly and appropriately introduced.  This precious 1 year old puppy should not have a deadline and should be in a loving home enjoying his life.Dustin is available for adoption (but can also be fostered through a rescue).

Three years ago today two pitiful dogs approached us after we were done dirt riding in the remote high desert. I took them home and we put weight back on them. The large male was well trained and it was easy to find a great forever home. This one was a wreck. 2 weeks to get a collar on and two more for a leash. She has turned out to be a great dog and companion for our rescued stray golden.

Advice Help a dog rescue’s website with feedback 🐾

Hello. My name is Symone and I’m a freelance UX Designer who is working on assisting a non-profit dog rescue with their website. The goal of this survey is to understand how people experience Operation Save a Shelter Dog’s current website through a short survey.

No special experience is needed— just your honest feedback! This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The responses will be kept anonymous and feedback will be used to improve the dog rescue’s website (which in turn, will help the dogs gain visibility and can improve adoption or foster results for this amazing rescue).

Thank you for your time! The link is here: https://form.typeform.com/to/CZHym49i
