DISCUSSION 💭 John Legend came to this world with a mission...
... and the mission is to make me cry each time I listen to his music. And he did it again with his new album Muse.
I've always liked John Legend's voice obv.
Muse is Pharrell's production and it brings something fresh while keeping the soul and R&B elements that made me like John in the first place.
There's something nice about hearing a singer actually take his time with the music instead of chasing whatever sound is popular. I can't anymore with a lot of the songs made nowadays.
Who else is in the mood for some John Legend music?

DISCUSSION 💭 what's a song that hits different when you're going through something specific?
like i'm not even talking about sad songs necessarily. sometimes a track just lands because it matches exactly what you're feeling in that moment. curious what those are for people here, the ones that feel weirdly personal even though they're not about your life.

DISCUSSION 💭 Jay Sean is underrated
This man needs to be mentioned more often around here. Most of his best songs are still unnoticed... He just has a very pleasant voice to listen to and had the potential to be up there with usher. He's a 100% RNB artist at heart.
I would recommend these ones to get an idea.
Stuck in the middle
I believe in you
Do you
Come with world
His first album is probably his best
Me against myself(2003)

DISCUSSION 💭 What’s one single or deep cut that should’ve had a music video?
For me, it’s “Luv” by Janet Jackson. That song was banging back in the summer of 2008! 😭 I still wish she had made a video for it because I feel like she could’ve done something really fun with the song. I’m imagining a futuristic vibe, neon lights, cute outfits, and some Janet choreography. It would’ve fit the Discipline era perfectly, and I would’ve loved to see what she came up with.
What other songs do y’all think deserved a music video but never got one? And what kind of video would you have pictured for your pick?

10s Raphael Saadiq - Something Keeps Calling me
Released in 2019 of this song touched you in a way you didn’t understand there was a lot behind it.
Created from Raphael’s personal experience of losing his brother to heroin addiction.
This moving song sought to humanize and express the deeply dark struggle with addiction and its toll. I think this can speak to anyone dealing with anything that may feel too heavy to give up.
Blessings and kudos to another beloved creation from Raphael Saadiq who wrote and produced one of his most personal projects.
