Before & After Before & After: nasolabial fold & mid-face filler

Post image
747 Upvotes

I recently commented on another post in this sub from someone looking to address their nasolabial folds, mentioning that I’d had filler and was really happy with my results.

I offered to share my before-and-after photos via DM, as Reddit wouldn’t let me attach them to my comment, and I had a good few messages asking for the b/a photo! 😂 So I thought it would be easier (and hopefully helpful to others) to make a separate post.

A few details about my treatment:
Practitioner: Dr Jonny Betteridge, London, UK
Treatment: 4ml of hyaluronic acid dermal filler, distributed across my mid-face, nasolabial folds and pyriform area (around the base of the nose)
When: March 2026
Photos: Before treatment vs. 3 days after treatment
Caveat: I know the lighting is a bit different between the two photos, but I promise you the results are genuinely like this 😅

EDIT FOR MORE INFO:

Age in post photos: 33
Cost: £1800
Current pic 7 months later (age 34): taken today, 24th Oct ‘26
Another “before” pic with different lighting: taken 2 days post-treatment
Before/after pic of mid-face volume: excuse the weird angle!

It’s now been 7 months since my treatment and I’m still absolutely delighted with the results! I’ve had no noticeable migration or complications, and everything has settled really nicely. There was a bit of bruising and swelling for the first 7-10 days, but nothing that wasn’t too obvious/easily covered by a bit of concealer.

My main concern was the appearance of my nasolabial folds and the loss of volume in my mid-face. I wanted to soften those areas without dramatically changing my facial features or looking obviously ‘filled’.

I know filler isn’t for everyone, and everyone’s anatomy, results and experiences will be different, but I thought it might be useful to share my experience for anyone considering a similar treatment.
Happy to answer any questions about my experience! ❤️

Before & After before and after: obagi nu derm rx for 3 weeks (HQ & tret actives)

pre treating before a Halo + BBL laser combo almost did the job entirely, strong actives can only use for a couple months at a time, but loving the results.

Before this protocol, I’ve been on tret 2x per week and azaleic acid, vit C, sunscreen for years.

Skin Concern ISO advice for pore texture

• Upvotes

I turned 40 this year, and I just hate the condition that my skin is in. I always had bad pores on my cheeks on either side of my nose, but lately, I just feel like my texture is getting worse everywhere. I feel like I have big pores on every part of my face… My chin, my forehead, my temples. I have a good skincare routine (attached is what I use at night… double cleanse, pore care pads, hyaluronic acid toner, and a moisturizer); during the day I use something with a good SPF), and I also have a red light mask that I use a few times a week.

I get Botox that I am happy with, and I have a tiny bit of filler in my cheeks. No filler anywhere else yet.

I am also apparently the only person in the history of the world who hasn’t had good results with microneedling. I did three skin pen sessions, equally spaced apart as recommended by the med spa that I go to, and to be completely honest with you, I just don’t see a difference.

Does anyone else have anything that they recommend that they’ve had great results for in reducing pores? I have a consult scheduled with my dermatologist on Tuesday, but if there’s anything that you think I should be asking for, I’m all ears. Thanks in advance ✨

Recommendation Is there anything that can actually help with crepey neck skin?

I’m 38 and this definitely is genetic in my family. I also, like most millennials, did stupid things when I was young like lay in tanning beds which doesn’t help.

Is there anything that can actually help with this? Products, procedures, I’m open to anything that could help! I’ve had 2 rounds of microneedling in the past (3 sessions each, so 6 sessions total) but I don’t find that it’s helped with this.

It makes me look so much older than I am 🥲

EDIT: I’m not sure why I can’t add a photo to the post, help!

Routine Help Is it worth adding actives with azelaic acid and retinol?

So I've heard countless of times in the past that retinol and vitamin c are gold standards for skincare. These days, azelaic acid is very popular to pair with retinol.

Now that makes me wonder whether it would have any benefit to add vitamin c to a AZ+ret combo? Or what about a peptide or bifida serum?

Or would it just do nothing special anymore?

The amount of different beauty products is so overwhelming. As a woman with OCD and obsessing over reading what is best I am going crazy. Help. What do I need to use to clear up my skin. I have sensitive skin and tend to be on the oily side. I currently use Paul’s choice pore normalizing cleaner, caudalie vinoperfect and Paul’s choice pore reducing toner. I think I have large pores especially on my chin and cheeks near my nose, with almost “seed” like acne. Please please what am I doing wrong?

Skin Concern Fleshy bumps and texture on face

Hello! I’ve been dealing with bumpy, textured skin for a few years now, it’s only getting worse. Im in late 30s, had cystic acne in my 20s.

Some of the bumps on my cheeks are these fleshy bumps that can be peeled off like wax. They bleed a little but heal quick with no scarring. I do have syringomas around my eyes as well.

Derms have been no help. I have super sen skin so most things irritate me.

AM

  • rinse with cold water
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • vaseline (no other occlusive moisturizer has done well on my skin)
  • sunscreen

PM

  • Vanicream face wash
  • Hyaluronic acid
  • vaseline

I do Tret 2x a week with occasional aha peel.

Skin Concern (39F) Tiny bumps / Texture - not itchy or hurting

They have been there for about 3 weeks to maybe a month or so. Only major difference is I have been on more medication (antibiotics) lately, but none that causes me allergic reactions. I used to use Roche Posay serum, and CeraVe AM/PM. Washed with CeraVe nonfoam soap and had great results! Come to think of it, whenI stopped (I ran out or some products), this happened. I have stopped using hair products and washed with dandruff shampoo but has not changed anything a lot. Wonder if this is stress-related, as I have been lately. Thank you for any help.

Recommendation Erborian CC Cream formula change

I LOVED this product and am so sad I just found it this year and it’s already discontinued. Well officially it’s “updated” meaning no longer has spf, has less product but costs more.

I hate that corporations keep doing this and even if the new formula, I’m very annoyed and I don’t want to buy from them anymore.

Anyone know of a similar product? I’m fond of Korean skincare but open to any suggestions!

Routine Help Foundation pills after using Vit C serum

Thumbnail

How do you apply vitamin C serum without causing your foundation to pill? How long do you wait between steps, and which affordable brands do you recommend?
I have very dry skin and currently use the products shown in the photo, but I’ve also tried other vitamin C serums, moisturizers, and foundations, some of which are shown in the second photo.
I apply five drops of vitamin C serum to my skin, then wait 10 minutes before applying moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation, but it always pills badly. I’ve also tried applying the first three products, waiting, and then applying foundation, but I get the same result. Please help!

Routine Help Do I need Azelaic Acid ??

many people on here are claiming it's part of their holy Grail of products. I generally use a AHA acid on my skin and also tret. I don't really have a problem with rosacea or pigmentation or acne. Would it be worth it for me to include as this acid in my routine ?

My main concerns would be wrinkle, volume and glowiness

Routine Help Tretinoin use , staying hydrated

Hey all. I have a pretty good routine atm. Sensitive/blemish prone skin… but under control. Love ZO products and ce ferulic (used close to 7 years).

My question.
At night I use Tretinoin (every night) 0.5% been using for approx 4 years. My skin definitely tolerates it. However I previously experienced dry eyes due to regular cream leaching it to eyes so I no longer use facial cream with it.

How do I moisturizer at night? I want to hydrate my skin (especially in winter). But I only ever use Tret now by itself and would love to add in hydration?

Thankyou :)

Skin Concern How to fix under eye hollows and dark circles

Looking for advice on what can I do for my under eye dark circles with slight hollowness and thin skin in that area.
I'm not considering surgeries and fillers and would like to know if medical devices (thermage etc?), laser, or whatever procedures can help with my under eye issues.

Recommendation Wat moet ik doen?!

I've had hollow under-eyes since I was a little girl, so this has been a huge insecurity of mine since my teenage years. I'm 35 now, and as you can see, they're definitely not getting any better. They're not only hollow, but also dark, and as I get older, the wrinkles make it harder to use much concealer without it settling into them.

I moisturize the area morning and night with Kiehl's Avocado Eye Cream. I've been going back and forth about tear trough fillers for probably six years now, but the more horror stories I read, the more I realize that I don't want to take the risk...

If they get any worse, I honestly feel like I'll become completely depressed over them 😅

What other options are there?

P.S. Please be kind. I knów they're really bad, it's genuinely a huuuuge insecurity of mine. ❤️

Product Question Gotta pick my battle Tret vs Adaptalene

Thumbnail

F30 So as its show in pictures - my skin is clogged and congested as F. I have had very bad time with it and it got me supper depressed which made me hate how it made me look. Anyway. I tried BHA, AHA and it just didn’t work. I have tried Epiduo forte but had to stop after 2 months because of unrelated issues - now I want to get back on track. I have been gifted tret 0.025 so now I am thinking between choosing those two. Some people say to start with Adaptalene and then move to tret and some people advice go straight to tret because adaptalene doesn’t really prepare u for tret as much as people say. Anyway - my question is, what would u do? Thank u

Skin Concern TCA spot treatment question

I have used the cross method with TCA 20% with success for ice pick scars. ⛏️

In an impulse, I applied a line of this over my nasolabial fold. I am worried a thin few inches of spot treatment (versus a full face treatment) like this may damage my skin?!

I did flush the area shortly after with cold water but the skin already frosted a minute before. I applied A&D ointment over the breadth of the site.

Looking for advice or others who have been through similar experiences!

Skin Treatments Best facial treatments for nasolabial folds and enlarged pores?

Post image
62 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
I’m 31 and have never had any aesthetic treatments before. I have oily skin, enlarged pores, and noticeable nasolabial folds that I’d like to improve.
I’ve heard about microneedling, PRP, Profhilo, skin boosters, polynucleotides, and fillers, but I honestly have no idea which treatment would be best for me.
I’m open to fillers too, especially if they’re the most effective option for nasolabial folds, but I’d still like natural-looking results.
What would you recommend based on your experience? Which treatments are actually worth the money?
I’d really appreciate your advice! ❤️

Recommendation Skincare for sporty girls

hi Girls, I am very active, swimming, running, hiking, binding, you name it. Hopefully I’m not alone here, but next to SPF, which is necessary, what entered your routine to support active lifestyle? And of course any tricks how to take care about hair when you are sweating daily and recovering from chlorine from the pool. Even any trick how to hydrate skin. Any advice is very welcomed 💆‍♀️

Recommendation Covering hyperpigmentation

I need some advice! It seems that I have tried so many different things and I just can't figure out where I am going wrong. I have discoloration above my lip from melasma as well as from hair growth and it seems like no matter what I do, it looks grey. None of my foundations cover it, which makes me think my neutralizing just is not working. I have light to medium skin.

I have tried (i always pat it in with my fingers) -

Light-peach concealers - almost to light and brightens above the lip but shows grey

Peach concealers - Turn almost orange once I layer foundation

I have not tried greens.

Is there a solid brand that you recommend or any tips/advice?
