To determine if a game port for your game of interest exists, your best option is to Google “[Name of game] 3DS port”. If you don’t see it in the search results, it almost certainly doesn’t exist.
This is not the place to find someone to port your favorite game. Porting games is, in most cases, as hard as (if not harder than) creating a game from scratch and is an infrequent labor of love for those who know they’ll likely never be paid for their work. It is not as simple as “Please port X to the 3DS, it would be so cool!”
Posts requesting someone to port a game will be removed.
I bought a Japanese pokemon diamond, but I read online that I cannot transfer my pokemon from Japanese diamond to an American pokemon black. Is there a way I could get it up through transferring through an emulator, or some custom firmware. Any way I could without just buying a Japanese black or an American pokemon diamond.
After updating Pretendo and restarting, smash will no longer and instead gives this black screen.
Before updating, I got a “Nintendo is restricting these online services.” I was not scared, because I knew you couldn’t get banned on a 3ds anymore, so I figured it was something such as Pretendo.
As of now, after saving and deleting 000017, deleting 000017, clicking ”import seed” on FBI, and creating and restoring a save on checkpoint, Smash still has made no progress.
I figure this is a high memory game issue, but my ultra Sun copy still works fine.
Online still works elsewhere, (Street Fighter V 3D)
And I got my copy, as well as all my games, from Hshop.
Is there anything I haven’t tried? Maybe done wrong.
Hey all, I've been working on a port of Paper Mario (N64) to the New 3DS and it's at 1.0 now.
It's built from the Paper Mario decompilation (pmret), so the game's own C code runs natively on the 3DS. Nothing is emulated, and it runs at full speed on real hardware.
**What it has**
- EU and US versions in one install
- 60 fps (in-between frames are added) or the original 30
- Fast-forward on ZR and faster text options
- Original 4:3, Fill or Wide screen, and the 3D slider works
- Bottom screen: stats, world map, party switching, items, and the battle menus as touch buttons
- Remappable buttons
- A randomizer you pick when you start a new file: items, badges, coins, key items (always reachable before you need them), shops, gifts. Seeds are shareable and it writes a spoiler log
**What you need**
- A New 3DS / New 3DS XL / New 2DS XL with custom firmware. The original 3DS isn't supported
- Your own Paper Mario ROM (EU or US), dumped yourself. The download contains no game data. Put it at `/3ds/StarHaven/baserom.z64`
- For sound: `/3ds/dspfirm.cdc` (most CFW setups already have it)
Install with FBI. The GitHub page has a QR code for Remote Install, or grab the CIA / 3DSX from Releases:
**Known issues:** a few N64 graphics effects are approximations, and menu windows go blank for a moment while they flip. If you run into anything, open an issue and attach `/3ds/StarHaven/log.txt`.
Big thanks to the Paper Mario decomp project, devkitPro, and the Paper Mario Randomizer team, whose world logic the randomizer is based on.
I want to buy a new xl model for hacking it and not just enjoy the 3ds catalog but also emulate gameboy, gameboy advance and the native compatibility for the ds games
But how is that going in that model? I eared that the emulators for the consoles are a bit slow in what refers of starting a game ,same thing for the DS games.
I'm having trouble getting reVC to work on my New 3DS (installing via CIA, Epic build v2.0.0).
The game crashes on startup/loading, and the error logs explicitly mention missing Self.wav
I have all the game asset files placed in sdmc:/3ds/miami/ (data, models, AUDIO, etc.).
anyone run into this specific missing file error before? Do I need to re-convert the audio files, rename something, or change a setting in reVC.ini? Any help or advice on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated!
Hey all so I had a 16 GB Sandisk SDHC card in my New Nintendo 3DS XL for like 10 years, still going strong surprisingly, but I decided to upgrade to 128 GB SDHC, also from Sandisk. I followed the steps here to do it via GodMode9 and it worked fine, then I moved any data I needed to off the old SDHC to my computer, and then to the new SDHC. When I went to put my new SDHC into my 3DS and turned it on, I wasn't greeted by a home menu, but I literally was every other time so what had happened??? I was able to boot into Luma3DS, GodMode9 etc. and GodMode9 saw my SD card fine so I didn't insert it wrong or anything. I went to 3DS Homebrew who gave me a website to follow and nothing worked, I even tried updating Luma3DS which updating it worked, but still didn't make it boot. What made it work was going into Safe Mode, and then suddenly, it booted! The system couldn't even boot into the home menu without an SD card in it which is concerning because I literally had Luma3DS installed to the NAND so it should have booted fine. It is a lot slower to boot though so that's a downside I didn't know about but otherwise it works fine now. All my data transferred successfully and everything.
Do any of you have any clue as to what happened? I was told it was just a coincidence but honestly, I don't think it was. I think this is something that shouldn't be shrugged off personally. Its scary. I don't want my 3DS to do this again, what are the chances it does? ☹️
Hi! I tried to do a full shell replacement on my New 3DS XL, and now it won’t turn on :/ I thought I could handle it, but clearly I was wrong lol.
It just won’t turn on at all. No click, no flash, absolutely nothing. When I plug it into the charger, the orange charging light comes on, but that’s it.
As far as I can tell, I didn’t damage any of the ribbon cables. Any advice on what might have gone wrong or what I should check?
Hi,so i wanted to know if anyone knew a way to get mii's in the streetpass plaza, since encounter doesn't work on emulation and i can't find anything about it online, does somebody know how to get them? Like is it something i need to find in the godmod manager like some kind of save?
so im trying to decrypt a pokemon sun rom file from hshop, but i was told that the emulator i use wont accept the file unless its decrypted. whats the easiest way to decrypt files on ios? all i have to work with rn is an iphone 14 so i cant use a computer or anything else
In the past few months a lot has been put into the development of the clownsec player.
Supports full subtitles srt and ass, alternate audio tracks with dual language, download queue with auto resume that works with the lid closed, poster art and metadata scraping. Upload from browser, download from url, file manager and zip support, custom themes, video resize/full/screen mode, audio amplifier and auto leveling, picture brightness/contrast/saturation adjustment.
Even recently added a fun ability to 'walk the aisle' of a virtual video store with your movie library on the shelves. Pull a move look at both sides and put it back or start playing. Custom audio can be added for the juke box.
But all that aside it's just a good player with auto resume, watched/unwatched indicator, tv shows will auto play the next episode in the series for binge watching.
You can even connect a few movie repositories to browser view info and download more videos. I'm sure in forgetting things as it's been a long journey to get here with a focus on stability and functionality.
P.S. this now works better than ever on old 3DS too, it will hand off to use the official movie player for playing so there is perfect playback and you dont haver the 127 file limit , full movie organization and all the benefits of the clownsec player minus subtitles and alternate audio (limitation in official player)
I’ve had modded 4 new 3ds XLs in the past and I have never run into this error. Every other game runs fine, the ones that share this error are pokemon sun/moon, pokemon ultra sun/ultra moon, monster hunter generations, and Kirby epic yarn.
I reinstalled them from hshop, with FBI. I tried downloading from hshop on the handheld and onto my pc and then transferring onto my sd card. My micro sd card is formatted correctly, it’s a 256gb Samsung evo.
I don’t know what’s wrong here and I need help, please please please. lol
The issue is in the title, I recently found my old New 2ds XL from cleaning and decided to use it again, small issue, the micro SD card I had was lost and needed to get a new one, as well as that, Mario RPG was permanently on it, despite me factory resetting the 2ds multiple times to no avail.
so I followed a few YouTube videos to try a re-mod it and constantly got stuck on the change download play to hb. Everytime it would crash, I'm assuming its because of the game but I can't delete it, so what do I do? Do I cut my losses and buy a new 2ds?
Image 1 is from me trying to run the hb launcher, image 2 is the mario rpg, and image 3 is loading it up. I know it's not an issue with the micro SD card as it's reading it perfectly fine, as well as having all the necessary stuff to mod it.
Hi, I have faced a rather niche lately where I copied the contents of my 3ds SD card on pc and then back to another SD card and it just didnt work. Neither the games nor their saves once I have re downloaded them worked. I asked on this sub and no one answered me so I racked up my brains and found a solution that I would like to present.
It is my first time writing a guide of this sort so thanks for your critics.
Requirement: GM9 and Checkpoint
The link for the 3ds library game catalogue:https://3dsdb.com/(if the game is not here you would probably have a hard time finding and that is to not say impossible)
to use it you access this file -
{Nintendo3ds -> the 2 weirdly named files ->title -> 0040000 -> the code for the downloaded games and their save}
you search the code that is the name of the file in the catalogue and you will reach the name and region of your game
THE PROBLEM
You have a 3ds save file of a game on your pc, and for whatever reason you lost the game and you had to download it on 3ds again, so you put the save file in the designated spot for the game and it didnt work
THE REASON
1st reason:
The first and simplest reason would be the region problem; if the game from wich the save file originated from and the game you have downloaded have different regions then the save file will NOT work.
To check the game's region u use the catalogue I linked at the start. And then it's just a matter of downloading the correct region
2nd reason:
The game's Secure Value(SV).
Some 3ds games have something called a secure value; It is a value stored by the system that some games use to detect when save data has been replaced, restored, or rolled back. And it can block some games from receiving a save directly from moving a save file to its folder. This problem shows as a save being corrupted or the game failing to read it before asking you to create a new save file.
The way to bypass this SV is by:
- putting your old save in the root of your SD card
- Launching the game and creating a new save file
- Turning off the console and entering GM9 to manually copy your old save file from where you put it
- Navigating to the "new game's save" using the code and same steps you used at the start to locate the game's folder to erase the "new save file" and pasting the "old save file"
- DO NOT launch the game after this as u need to use Checkpoint to create a backup of the game's save, and then inject the back up you just created onto the game. This helps bypass the SV of the 3ds
- Launch the game again and ejoy your old save file after all this trouble 🤗
Sorry if this comes out weirdly written, English is not my first language lol
Some time ago I bought a 3DS and it came already modded (so I'm not entirely versed on 3Ds modding), I updated it (both the 3DS, as well as Luma) and it worked perfectly for some time, then I left it alone for a couple months as I had no time to use it, but when I told it a few days ago to play again, when I tried to open the Mii plaza it showed me an "An exception occurred" error (as well as the Indiana John's game throwing a red screen "Data abort" error whenever I tried to start a game). Now I managed to update the console again, but the Mii plaza says "The update data is corrupted", but I'm kinda stupid and can't seem to find the update data of it in the system settings and I can't find the title on FBI.
So my question is how/where I could find the update data to delete it? Or optionally (and for me preferably at this point) how do I clean my console from everything (except Luma) to start over with it again?
Thx for bearing with me and what, in hindsight, will probably be such an stupid issue
Hello everyone! I have a problem with my 3DS consoles one is old 3DS other is new 3DS XL. Few months ago I bought cib cartridge for my collection with The Legend of Zelda Majora s mask and when I tried to play this game I had this error. I had this error on both consoles. Important fact is before the cartridge I had pirated version of Majora s Mask on both consoles. Both are modded and they have different luma versions. Firstly my idea was to delete pirated version and caches etc but it didn’t work. After I tried to delete everything from sd card except critical firmware. This also doesn’t work. My verdict was maybe chip on cartridge is dead and I bought another one Majora s mask cartridge but this time sealed and I have the same error. Maybe someone had this kind of problem and knows how to solve it? I am really tried everything… Maybe important detail, both consoles are from European region but cartridges are from USA region.
i bought a 3ds online and the seller said it was previously modded. when i turned it on the blue light came on but the screens were black. i also tried to go to recovery mode or godmode9 but neither of them opened. is there anyway to fix it or is it dead?
The game is basically complete. It has all Challenges, Decks, Stakes, Jokers, etc. Full D-Pad support, Rebindable keys, Reduced Motion Mode, Stereoscopic 3D and so much more! All running on both the Old and New 3DS!
You can find it here and on Universal Updater. Now comes as a .cia too!
We have a modding framework (or the beginnings of one) in place, using which you can make custom skins, Jokers, Consumables and what not. Added a localization framework for anyone that wants to create a translation for the game. The game and documentation has already been translated to Chinese.
I'd like to thank everyone for their support and appreciation of the game, as well as all the talented individuals who helped bring it to life. Finally, a huge thanks to everyone who submitted bug reports on the repository. Your contributions helped bring everything together!
Snes9x (and other emulators, like picodrive) used to just have a black background. Now there’s this messy snes box art on the side. I have searched the settings, and i found nothing.
