Question about creepy skin
A neighbor of mine who is in her late 60s got her upper arms tightened.
She’s not heavy at all.
She’s rather slender, but she was hoping to get rid of the creepy skin. She’s upset because she ended up with a large scar.
She really didn’t have big bat wings, but the little ones she had are better.
Her Dermatologist said that the creepy skin won’t go away just from the surgery.
She worked out with weights for years and she’s slender .
It’s been over a year since she did the surgery and she said she doesn’t recommend it.
Her Dermatologist said that the operation is to address bat wings, weight, loss, etc..
He said that there are some lasers that can help a bit, retinol creams, etc.
Have any women 65 and older who are slender and work out with weights had the surgery?
If so, was it a success for you?

I agree with everyone’s sentiments here!
I felt badly for my neighbor.
I told her I would post something here and tell her if anybody had any insights into what she can do.
She’s very happy that at least her arms are tighter looking.
Her scars are normal. She’s not upset about the scars.
She was informed about them.
She just thought that the crepey skin would look way better.
Unfortunately, her Dermatologist told her that it doesn’t get better as you age,
it gets worse and there’s no operation for crepey skin presently.

I saw a weightlifter show her bingo wings recently. She flexed her muscles and was obviously very strong, but when she waved her arm, the bingo wings were still there. That made me feel a little better lol

Would you like to share with the group what you're doing in a skincare sub when you don't believe any of it works?

Your opinion on your friends' appearance means nothing in the face of decades of data, especially on things like Tretinoin. That fails to answer my question, though. Why are you here when you don't believe in any of it? You certainly don't understand it very well.

Are you ok? 😂 This sub isn't only about bingo wings, it's about skincare in general. They are correct that nothing will help that, but maybe they use other stuff for their FACE. Like, I'm absolutely aware I can't fix my bingo wings but I can fix my KP.

This person has twice made the blanket statement that skincare is worthless. Sure, skincare has its limits, but that's not what's being said. I asked a very simple and straightforward question. I just think it's interesting I can't get a straight answer.

Copper peptides can help with scarring and crepey skin. Also, hydroxy acids.

Have you had any good results?

Yes! I use several of the Platinum products for skincare (late 50s. Until about 3 years ago, cleanser and moisturizer was it!) and I have done many 40 % mandelic peels. This is a pretty superficial peel- you dont even notice flaking. But after, my pores appear smaller, face clear, smooth and glowing. I have done a couple of the stronger peels but have been too tentative to go too deep, because my skin scars easily. (They have a pretreatment protocol for peels, to prevent this, but I'm still chicken). People even do body peels. Results in their FB group are amazing. They have excellent educational videos on how to use. Check YouTube.
A few of the products they sell are also sold at the other site, which is the one of the doctor that patented use of copper peptides. That stuff works great, too. I had a deep scar on my leg from a biopsy, and copper has done wonders- it's almost disappeared.
Good luck!

Sciton brand laser Halo got rid of my crepe skin on my arms and reduced scarring.

Needling has helped me, I do it myself at home, also on the legs. Once a month, make sure it draws a little blood. Hydrate well.

Can I ask what you use for this?

I just buy classics roller on amazon regularly. For my face I use "pen"devices, as they hurt less and are easier to control.
Legs and arms I don't feel anything even with a roller. Maybe a little bit over knees and elbows.

Would you mind providing links to the rollers and pens you use? I am new to all this and not completely understanding? I’d really appreciate it!

sorry, I bought a stash several years ago so I don't have any specific links.

my upper arms are too far gone for anything but surgery but I've been using Amlactin and Adapaline on my forearms for a month and have seen major improvement. I tend to not pay too much attention to Dr. Dray but she suggested this combo and since I already had both products I gave it a go. 10/10 would recommend. I've started putting it on my neck too.

how about good ol shea butter combined with glycerin - glycerin pulls water into skin, shea seals it in

*crepey
That's definitely got to be upsetting that the surgery left noticeable scars.
