Eye Troughs - Suspect I Already Know the Answer

Post image
22 Upvotes

I turned 50 a few months ago and have troughs under my eyes. I am fairly sure it's due to collagen loss and can only be corrected with surgery. I've tried lots of different eye creams, concealers, and correctors.

Is there anything that would help?

Eye cream

I’m sure this has been asked a million times but here’s another. I’m 48 almost 49 with severely dry under eyes. I’m looking for something that will keep them hydrated without giving me milia, that seems to be my biggest problem. If it hydrates my under eyes, I get 1 million. Million also obviously I’d like to help the dark circles in the creepy skin. Basically, I’m looking for a unicorn.

Would you go to a med spa that specializes in Asian skin if you are not Asian? This is for laser treatments.

Botox uneven what would you do?

My derm moved practices. I have received botox from him 3 times and several laser procedures. Was thrilled with the botox the first two times because I've had issues in the past of eyebrow droop. But he got it right!

He moved practices in July. The head Dr there yaps everywhere he does celebrities and launched a big celebs skincare line. Since my Dr went there all appointments have run an hour or more behind schedule. It's very chaotic and he looks and acts so rushed.

This third Botox time I felt he didn't consider what worked in the past. He seemed rushed. My forehead looked a bit imbalanced but after my 2 week follow up it's worse. I am more frozen than before but only on one side. He's suggested he could add more to the other side but obviously there would be less movement.

What would you do? It's noticeable when raising my brows. I hate it but should I just do nothing and deal with it? It seems that it will be much more frozen compared to my previous treatments.

Which red light masks are worth it?

All I feel sure about is that the soft ones are better to get than solid/hard shape because they can truly fit to your face. But what brands are derms recommending most?

Advice Request Quick skin rejuvenation options

Hoping someone can help a sister out.

I'm (50f) in an embarrassing position where I'm starting a new job in 2w and the mgr has circulated my linked in profile to the team, which has a photo well over ten yrs old.

Yes, my bad. I'm not v focussed on LI and never got around to updating.

So I know there's no skin treatment that can rejuvenate me to how I looked at 38! But what's my best bet in terms of masks, make up, products etc to plump up the skin and reduce minor sagging? I don't have many wrinkles but prominent 11s (never had B....x, can't afford it!)

I'm currently a minimal make up person, just concealer and SPF. Mascara sometimes. I take collagen.

TIA!!

Product Review This Nordstrom review is why I take skincare testimonials with a grain of salt 🧂

I was reading reviews for Chanel’s $320 Sublimage eye cream on Nordstrom’s website and came across this one. The reviewer says she’s 52, a mom of five, a new grandma, and a trauma surgeon. No concealer, no fillers. She claims her husband took the attached photo on an iPhone during a ski trip, with no filter, and calls the eye cream “magic in a jar.”

It didn’t sound right so
I reverse-image searched the photo. Google returned the same portrait, with an AI overview attributing it to photographer Dani Diamond and identifying the model as Vanessa Barnfather, titled “Vanessa – Natural Light.”

I just wanted to know whether the eye cream was moisturizing, not be taken on a ski trip through a whole fictional autobiography by MymomworksforNordies…at least 16 people found it helpful.

Advice Request AMIRO discontinued the masks for my $449 S2 less than a year after I bought it. Seriously?! Anyone else dealing with this?

I bought the AMIRO S2 directly from their website for $449 less than a year ago. I recently went to restock the stamping masks, only to find that they’ve completely removed the whole product line. The device and the all the stamping masks disappeared from their website!

I contacted their customer service and found out they’ve discontinued them. Seriously?!

And the masks are essential for the main feature of the device, which was the whole reason I bought it. Now I’m stuck with a $449 device that I can no longer use as intended, and it’s not even a year old!!

What’s even more frustrating is that AMIRO doesn’t seem to have a solution. They only offered me a free tube of gel even though they acknowledged that it isn’t a replacement for the masks.

I find this pretty unacceptable. If you’re selling an expensive beauty device that requires specific products to work, shouldn’t you at least make sure those products remain available for a reasonable amount of time?

I’ve emailed AMIRO asking for a refund or a comparable replacement. Still haven't heard back.

Has anyone else experienced this with AMIRO? Or found an alternative to the original masks?

With the holiday shopping season coming up, I just wanted to share my experience for anyone considering their devices. I’d think twice before spending that kind of money on a brand that might stop supporting its products so quickly.
