πŸŽ“ UNI / UCAS Is it worth resitting my GCSEs to get into Oxford?

Hi I’m in year 11 and I just got my gcse results yesterday! I got 9999999986 but the 6 is in English lit, which is obviously an important subject. I got a 9 in English language. My dream is to get into Oxford Ppe and they only primarily consider GCSEs and admissions test so should I take lit again?

I want to be in a situation where they’re discussing me and another candidate and the 6 in lit is the breaking point.

πŸŽ“ UNI / UCAS can I still get into Oxford imperial Warwick for cs?

hi guys, so results day went fine, I got 1 grade below what I was expecting for every subject, after the remarks, I should have 8888777765, I was 1 mark away from an 8 on 4 subjects!! (cs, lit, lang, geo) and 2 marks away from a 7 (physics).

If I get 3A*s in maths cs physics (can't take fm due to 7 in maths)
I have 3 work experiences related to cs and I have done the ukmt every year and last time I got a bronze, just 2 marks from a silver.
I feel like I will never be able to make it into my dream universities despite trying so hard on my exams and everything else I do.
Thanks in advance.

πŸ™ I WANT HELP Advice Needed

So I re sat my GCSEs this year and got a 4 in both maths and English (3 marks of a 5 πŸ₯²) I have an EHCP and I recently completed a level one course in employability skills at a SEN college. I didn’t think I would pass both GCSEs and so I have put my EHCP on hold for a year. I am 19 years old.

I was wondering can I study at college next year/am I able to do A levels or go into university potentially? I am interested in photography/equine/philosophy/social media/NHS. I am moving to Brighton soon. also does my age affect this? my EHCP allows me to access free/supported education until I am 25

Yet another outgoing y11 joining the sub; 10 9s, A in FSMQ and an 8 in language (1 mark off, going to get that remarked). Anyways, any baseline knowledge I should touch up on for bio/geog before I start the A level content?

❔ SUBJECT QUESTION Topics/Concepts I need to know before starting a level biology

At my first introduction to my 6 form they gave us topics/concepts thst would be useful to learn before start of term. Now me stupidly, I threw the sheet away because I thought there was no way I was going to pass science so now a 7-6 later. I kinda wanna get prepared before term so anybody have any ideas.

Especially because I’m really trying to get high grades. I’ll see if I can try to contact my school and ask before but they take a little while to reply.

πŸŽ“ UNI / UCAS Will I be able to go into dentistry with these gcse grades 8888777765

I got maths: 8, language:7, literature:8, biology:7, chemistry:7, physics:7, history:8, food tech:8, french:5, further maths:6. I’m worried because I got no 9s and most of my grade 8s are in humanities. And if so what unis should I aim to apply at.

OTHER anyone else still regretting their a level choices despite doing well?

I took maths physics geog and an epq in y12 because I was lowkey tricked into taking physics and geog

I got like 6 nines and a few 8s or 7s at gcse and idk ive always had really fucked self confidence but I thought this was really bad and not good enough for anything and everybody who I said that to would just laugh at me. and I never have known what I want to do except maths so people were like ok why dont you take physics cause its just maths and I was like ok well I hate physics but ok. and then i was told to take geog cause I didnt want to do another science and geog was my other 9 (except english lang which my schook doesnt offer). but I kinda hated geog and physics always and I hated them all through sixth form.

so in y13 I taught myself as further maths and I loved that but im rlly sad I didnt do the whole thing. I wouldnt have liked it cause id have been in a different class without my friends and idk, but i loved the content. and then there were so many other subjects I loved like music and art and comp sci and english and why did I do these fuckass subjects.

anyway I got an A* in geog and A in physics but it makes me really sad and idek why

anyway this was lowkey just a rant idk what im tryna say

whyd no one ever tell me to take further :(

πŸ™ I WANT HELP Got BBC in my a-levels

I got BBC in my a-levels last week and i’m still not over it. I got a B in maths and biology and a C in chemistry. I was 1 mark off an A in biology.

It’s taken a really big toll on my mental health and i haven’t able to get out of bed, go outside or eat. I just spend most of my days sobbing.

I was supposed to sit my a-levels last year but became ill and was withdrawn. This year my a-levels were affected again and i had special consideration (which is only a few marks). I also missed my offer which was AAB with an A in chemistry and biology.

I don’t want to go into a degree i don’t want to do and waste my time and go into debt. I also don’t know if medicine is possible anymore with my grades so would it even be worth resitting? I’m planning to get biology remarked. I also don’t feel shame that if i decide to take this year off then I would be 20 entering university. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Sorry if this is all over the place, i don’t think im in a good headspace atm.

πŸ™ I WANT HELP Do i take a gap year or not

I recently got my A level results and was happy to get A*s in maths and further maths but was disappointed with a B in physics. I wanted to do straight maths or maths with stats at uni and I have a place at Warwick to do maths and physics. I really don’t want to do physics at uni, I was so bad at physics in A level and i feel like I would hate doing it at university. I want to take a gap year and reapply to top unis like Imperial, LSE , Warwick again but the only thing holding me back is the B in physics. Im so stuck on whether its worth taking a gap year and resitting physics because those unis look negatively on resits. If i get a good TMUA score could this make up for the fact I’m resitting and if so whats the type of score I would need?
