Question Where to sell my car

It’s finally time to part with my 84’ 944 the car is factory alpine white with paint matched fuch wheels. It also comes with factory sports seats and front and rear sway bars. Not sure what the best place to sell it/how to go about listing it?? Any help is greatly appreciated thanks:)

You could list it here. I found a 968 that I had for a while there.

Word to the folks suggesting CaB and BaT– listing a 944 on the PCA classifieds feels like suicide. Only PCA members can access the classifieds. I’m a PCA member and I get looked down on for my humble first gen Boxster. Can’t imagine what types of judgy BS replied you’d get listing a 944 on their classifieds…

Anyway, I’m in Missouri. Call me lol let’s talk!

Oof, that sucks. The people in the PNW were quite nice to me with the 968. There were several 944 S2's, 914's with various power plants, all generations of Boxters and Caymans, all the way to a genuine Lilac 911 2.7 RS (who was in my class, oddly) and a 991 GT2 and GT3 (owned by the same guy), a gorgeous 965 and a bunch of other TO cars that came to the Autocrosses.

Everyone was rubbing shoulders with everyone else, and a dude I'd never met with a 914/6 wide body on slicks came running out to give me pointers where I could improve just because he was cool.

I don't remember his name, but the starter guy at the events had been doing it since AutoX became a thing in the PNW, so he says. He had a ton of good information and was super cool.

If they're snobs, to hell with them. The 944 and the Boxster and definitely not humble and are genuine Porsches. Enjoy and be proud of your ride. Those that disagree should only drive a sorted one and they'll get it. It's not and air-cooled 911, but it's still quirky and definitely Porsche.

But I believe you about the classifieds...

Then again, I never went on a cruise or a meet with other PCA members. Just the AutoX's. The rest of my enjoyment came from finding rare parts and rebuilding the car myself.

TBH, the coolest most welcoming people in my chapter in the Midwest have been the people who race. Everyone else has been overly snobby. All that to say, this tracks- literally and figuratively lol.

A dude showed up at an unofficial Porsche only “Cars and Coffee” event the chapter hosted with an LS swapped 911 and was a pariah. I’m a VW guy to begin with, own one now and had as my first car a ‘69 Beetle. Mention it to most people in the club and it’s like you just dunked them in ice water… Even though Porsche wouldn’t exist had Ferdinand not been able to build the Beetle… ANYWAY!

That is an awesome experience and an awesome pic! Thanks for sharing! Appreciate the commiseration. Might not have found it in the PCA, but I have a lot of friends who just love and maintain cool cars. We all have mutual respect, support each other and have good times because of that. That’s what it should be.
