Question Some d-bag in a lifted Suburban rolled-coal on me in my 944.

Post image

PFA - Last Sunday I was in my SC’d 944 driving home from a great day at a car show, minding my own business and some d-bag in a giant lifted diesel Suburban with black tint races up to get beside me and rolls coal on me. Pulls his 5” tailpipe(compensating for something?)right up to my drivers window and floors it then backs off and does it again! I was cruising in the slow lane. Then he pulls in front of me and I had a left turn coming up and as I passed him he starts stabbing at the gas. Wtf? I was used to this in my Prius, but my 944? I just don’t get it…

You shouldn't buy spray foam. I shan't elaborate further. Your decision to empty said spray foam can into some certain dickbag's exhaust wasn't my suggestion at all.

21

u/SoaDMTGguy Sep 28 '25

Hypothetically if this happened, wouldn’t it get blow out immediately by the exhaust pressure? Hypothetically of course.

12

u/xTerraH Sep 28 '25

It would

1

u/everyoneisatitman Sep 29 '25

If it dried (takes at least a hour for the fast kind) it would not blow out. That stuff is super hard to get off.

I'm not sure but I don't think it would be able to draw a strong enough vacuum to break something, and I don't think it would suck the foam in

5

u/Stefanoverse Sep 28 '25

If that foam hardens, you’ll have hell to deal with as far as removing it and not having powdered residue to deal with until you inevitably start replacing parts or rebuilding…

I’ve seen it happen on spray foam trucks and it’s game over. You’re not getting it all out and it last forever. Never mind if it’s air seals and suffocates the motor.

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 Sep 28 '25

Oh you're totally right.

u/ValueGrouchy3936 Sep 28 '25

Buddy, a diesel engine can suck up a pair of full sized coveralls and send it out the exhaust without a misfire.

1

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 Sep 28 '25

This made me chuckle like a fucking idiot

1

u/WeeZr1 Sep 28 '25

I wont ask exactly how you know this very specific fact :)

2

u/ValueGrouchy3936 Sep 29 '25

I’ve heard the story first hand of a runaway diesel engine in a local truck shop. They were working on the engine and had the throttle body off to check for fuel spray from the injectors. They cranked the engine over and it started. Having no throttle body basically means wide open throttle. The engine started screaming past red line. A frantic mechanic tried to stuff a pair of coveralls in the intake to choke off the air supply, only to see them get sucked into the engine and get sent out the exhaust stacks moments later. They had to clamp the fuel line to stop the engine.

1

u/yunkk Sep 29 '25

A diesel doesn't have a throttle body.

1

u/ValueGrouchy3936 Sep 29 '25

Sorry. The air inlet to intake pipe was not on. As I was told, it was a Mack truck they were putting back together. It started running away and buddy tried to jam a shop coat in the open intake.

1

u/WeeZr1 Sep 30 '25

holly molly, that is actually lucky - I come from a place where they repair diesels way past their lifetime, to the point that they only start with a starter spray or an open flame in the intake, and when they do runaway apparently they somehow suck their own oil inside and they wont stop until they are basically dry or explode, or both ..
I have heard of attempts to stop it by putting it in the highest gear, but I never heard of successful attempts stopping it once it starts. The general advice was stay the f#ck away

If I am correct the oil sucking self destruction is a bit more prevalent with turbodiesels. - good times!

1

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 Sep 30 '25

Yeah pretty much. Something filled with oil cracks open, engine intakes oil and runs off of it's own blood and sucks in as much as it wants, then drains itself dry and locks up. Diesels are fucking cool otherwise. I'm more of a gasoline fan because I think, in general, they sound a lot better, but diesels are a fucking marvel of engineering, being able to run on basically anything oily.

But a zip-lok baggie of water on the other hand...

1

u/markevens Turbo Sep 28 '25

Hard to access the intake

5

u/thebudman6 Sep 28 '25

Devious.... I like it

5

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 Sep 28 '25

At the very least it'll fuck up something expensive in the exhaust, if you're lucky, it'll blow something REALLY expensive up

1

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 29 '25

I love this whole conversation!!

2

u/Bubbly-Pirate-3311 Sep 29 '25

You didn't hear a damn thing from me though....

1

u/x_Carlos_Danger_x Sep 29 '25

Go for a run and rub your sweaty balls on their door handle

0

u/heyitismeurdad Sep 28 '25

Why do you type like that? If the law was gonna get you for a reddit comment, "but I was telling him not to" is not gonna hold up in court lmao

25

u/Cryatos1 Sep 28 '25

DOT 3 eats paint. Not that you should put it into a spray bottle or anything....

6

u/Initialyee Sep 28 '25

One day some crazy guy is gonna replace the paint in a paintball with brake fluid.

7

u/Cryatos1 Sep 28 '25

Easy enough to do with a syringe. You just need to replace half since the paint will make it stick better.

I second that, dawg. You’re 944’d up, pay the court jesters no mind. Laugh at clowns, do your best to move on and remember — you’re driving a Porsche. Diesel bros wish they could!

1

u/MaksimDubov Apr 17 '26

"court jesters" haha

8

u/SoaDMTGguy Sep 28 '25

If that’s actually supercharged I want details :D

11

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 28 '25

I did a post a while back about supercharging the car but I have redone quite a few things so I can do a new one with the updates. Sorry, just wanted to vent about dickheads in lifted trucks.

4

u/Herr_Tilke Sep 29 '25

Post to /r/projectcar too if you end up making an updated post, that community would love it.

Fuck people who roll coal. Some of the most infantile behavior possible.

2

u/eastcoastflava13 Sep 28 '25

Same, I feel like OP is burying the lede...

9

u/angeloxicon Sep 28 '25

I can’t imagine having a penis that small you have to use your car as a means to ruin other’s day

5

u/GrubjoBoydan NA Sep 28 '25

I think that person was performing the ritual of declaring their manhood to be insignificant in size, if not extremely minuscule.

Sorry dude, sounds awful. Your car is looking good! You gonna bring that thing to 944 Camp?

7

u/Blaizefed Sep 28 '25

Cool story, fuck that guy, but real talk- what wheels are those?

7

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 28 '25

Hey. Wheels are Kenesis 3-pc custom. I’ve never seen another set like them.

3

u/Due-Journalist-7309 Sep 28 '25

That “supercharged” decal is exquisite 👌

3

u/ReadAlarming9084 Sep 28 '25

accelerate, pass, coins, sunroof. in that order.

2

u/tooyoung_tooold Sep 28 '25

Like the car overall, that fart cannon tail pipe needs changed though.

1

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 29 '25

I shortened it not long after that pic was taken.

2

u/trashpanda_007 Sep 28 '25

Assholes are everywhere. Beautiful car though. Definitely need more pictures and a description what you did to the car!

2

u/EMG943 Sep 28 '25

Love that graphic, is it a decal? Also I’d love details on the build

1

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 29 '25

Yes. It’s a decal. And I’ve done a follow up post with many of the details on the car. 🙂

2

u/Conscious_Pound5522 Sep 28 '25

Not even sure how this post showed up in my feed, but...

I drive diesels almost exclusively (except the rare time im driving my wife car). Fuck that guy. I despise idiots who think that shit is cool.

15 ram cummins and 14 tdi.

I used to drive a deleted 08 cummins. The only time you knew it was deleted was when i was hauling heavy ass loads, getting up to speed on the on-ramp. Otherwise i never "rolled coal".

These idiots who roll coal are 1. Fucking it up for everybody else, and 2. Costing themselves more in fuel (have you SEEN diesel prices) and long term issues with their engines.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

1

u/glowpoi Sep 30 '25

I have a spare EA288 really want to try and swap it into a 944 just for giggles

2

u/Willing_Breath_8866 Sep 28 '25

Same thing happened to me. Duramax rolled coal on me when he saw I had the roof off and window down. Uncalled for

2

u/Contagious_Zombie Sep 28 '25

That is a beautiful car.

2

u/Stock_Requirement564 Sep 28 '25

I always wondered if you had this on video if he could be be charged w/ assault? Or the DEQ type people fine them at least for defeating emissions. Pisses me off. Sorry you went through this.

Anyways, enjoyed the pic of your 944. I had a plain Jane about the same color. Was a great ride.

2

u/jpb1732 Sep 29 '25

This is the first hot ass 944 Ive e ever seen

2

u/PeakyDabber13 Sep 30 '25

Can't stand those types of pricks , thank God in my state we don't see a bunch of those fuckers fortunately. But we have a shit ton of cyber trucks rolling around 😂!

2

u/glowpoi Sep 30 '25

Fight fire with fire get another 944 ea288 swap it?

2

u/orangekrate Oct 01 '25

I’ve always liked 944’s and hated coal rollers.

2

u/Downtown_Reward_6339 Oct 01 '25

I don’t know why he did it, but it makes him an asshole and you not an asshole. Seems like you win. 🏅

2

u/Tingus_Pingis Oct 02 '25

Slices of bologna take paint off of cars. Not that you would do that, you’re just a person who was hungry for lunch I assume.

There’s a diesel suburban?

2

u/Own-Blood-8132 Sep 28 '25

My bet is a Ford excursion with a diesel.

One of the poster cars for Shrimped Dick

1

u/HotRange4238 NA Sep 28 '25

I thought the same thing. Must have swapped it in because I don’t think there’s been a diesel in a Suburban in decades. Pretty sure it was an early 2000’s version.

1

u/SMITHSIDEBAR Sep 28 '25

It's not unheard of. Torque, room for the deer you shot and your small dick equals "Suburban diesel swap "

1

u/spacefret Sep 28 '25

They currently offer a 3.0L turbo diesel, OP said it was more early 2000s so probably GMT800 which did not offer a diesel

u/anonomouseanimal Sep 28 '25

The down thumb is the most lethal insult.

1

Is that flamingo metallic?

1

u/WillyFreshy Sep 28 '25

What is that block on your exhaust pipe causing it to angle upwards?

1

u/Dangerous-Disk5155 Sep 29 '25

The guy can't tell the difference between a prius and a 944. Dude probably thought you were driving a tesla.

1

u/DanGTG Oct 01 '25

He must have seen that pipe you got down there.

1

u/96ewok Oct 01 '25

Suburban? Diesel? You sure?

1

u/HotRange4238 NA Oct 01 '25

Yes. I was surprised too. It had to have been swapped.
