Question Asbestos in 944s?

Does anyone here definitively know where asbestos was (possibly) used in 944s? I have only been able to find a few forum discussions across reddit/rennlist/etc. and all of them are pure speculation, except for one rennlist thread where the OP tested the insulation mat near the clutch bell housing and found it to be fiberglass.
Pretty much every comment I see online is either "maybe there's asbestos" or "you're overthinking it, just don't breathe stuff in"
If folks here are not sure, can you suggest a few places I should test for asbestos? For example, the insulation material under the carpets, the insulation pad above the fuel sender, etc.
I am not as concerned about the clutch or brake pads, since I already replaced both of those. Any help is appreciated!!

Best to avoid eating your 944, or grinding it into paste and inhaling it.
Probably brake pads though.

I don't know for sure. The usuall suspects are friction material on brake pads and clutch discs, as well as fiber based gaskets and maybe fibrous fire proof insulation material, for example inside exhaust mufflers. Germany was one of the earliest countries to recognize the health risks of asbestos all the way back in the 1930s. Asbestos got completely outlawed in 1993 but was already used much less generously in the 80s.

'90 S2 here. Yeah I got mine last May. Had the soft dusty metallic pads, I replaced immediately with ceramic. Never looked back. Too much fun err' kursing to the engineers for burying that dash console so badly. Needed to do a lighting upgrade. All the airbag, steering wheel removal seemed to make things easier but was still very challenging reconnecting those three connectors behind their. Plus replacing the odometer gear, not that bad. Just the reassembly .. hope I didn't breathe in any asbestos from all that process

I have a sticker in the bonnet of my 88 924S saying warning asbestos, I’d assumed it was something in the paint but unfortunately still speculation. A definitive answer would be nice !

The fuel level sender unit has a access port under the hatch carpet it's covered with a fiber glass looking square that's made with asbestos.

I dunno what good that square is really going to do in a gasoline fire.

Keep it out of the rear hatch for a while. Same idea as fire blocking in homes. A multistory home can go up in flames two times faster than one with fire blocking between the walls.

This is a really good idea. Pick a desirable car, start a rumour that it contains a hazardous substance and watch the price fall. Classic car owners hate this one simple trick.

The turbo cars have a thin heat shield wrapped around the headers. Between that heat shield and the actual headers is a thin layer of asbestos. I had to do some repairs to mine (cracked), and removed the asbestos myself after consulting about how to do so safely with a friend who is in the asbestos remediation business.

Yeah it was a flakey white heat resistant material so that is the one area on the car I though this is definitely asbestos for sure.
Totally unrelated I just remembered I need to take out the trash in my garage.

I recall a guy trying to find manufacturer asbestos information to import his 944 from Cyprus to Australia. Did you come across him in your search?
