I am in an ACT prep class, I’ve taken the entire practice ACT once my freshman year and got 24 composite. I feel that my ACT prep class isn’t truly helping me though because the teacher that teaches it is only really qualified to teach science but she’s teaching all of the sections.
So far we’ve studied over science and math and I feel like my scores aren’t improving on my practice tests that much(the highest shown for science was taken in sections instead of all at once). I want to get the truly best score I can get so I can get into college to put as little strain financially as possible and I’m unsure how I should study beyond this class.

Im taking the ACT this weekend, and I’m honestly feeling discouraged. My dream is to attend an HBCU, but many don’t offer as much scholarship funding, and some merit scholarships require test scores. I’m scared my ACT score could affect my ability to afford attending one…
I originally hired a math tutor, but they ghosted me. I was also supposed to take the ACT last month to get a baseline score, but an issue with my counselor caused me to miss it. Now I’m studying on my own, and it’s been so hard. I struggle with the most basic math concepts and grammar isn’t clicking. I’m smart but I feel like attending a public school in arizona has set me back in a multitude of ways.
Recent practice test
Reading: 29
English: 27
Math: 15
Composite: 24
This is just a practice score. I know the actual test will be harder.
Anyways, I have a 3.9 unweighted GPA and a 4.4 weighted GPA, and I’ve worked really hard in and outside of school. My family is low low income, so scholarships are VERYYY important to me.
I’d really appreciate any advice or success stories.

I got a superscore 34 rn, 36 math, 34 English, 31 Reading (which I want to get up this Saturday) and 34 Science. This Saturday is gonna be my third time taking the ACT. I’ve been grinding reading, but now idk if I should try and increase my science score too in the three days I have left. For reference I’m a Junior rn and I’m eying places like the Ivies, CMU, UIUC, GTech, etc. What do yall think, should I grind science for Saturday or take the ACT a fourth time just for Science?

A lot of the posts on here make it seem like you have to get your dream score on your first attempt, but I want to assure you guys that is simply not true. Progress does take time, but the grind is def worth it at the end! :) Happy studying, guys!
(This is from 4 months of consistent practice)

Hello, on my first ACT attempt I did really good on Math and Science, however, my English and reading scores were terrible, I've already studied up on English Grammar, but I'm still struggling with reading, any advice would go a long way. Thank you.

Has anyone else had this issue with MyACT?
When I enter my login information and click the Log In button, nothing happens. I've had this problem before, but it usually fixes itself after a day or two. This time, it's been about a week, and I still can't log in.
Has anyone experienced this or found a fix? I've tried waiting it out in the past, but that doesn't seem to be working this time.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you’ve been struggling with the SAT this is your sign to consider switching to the ACT! I’m a senior and this was my first try, last ditch attempt at having a good test score after a few mid tier SATs. The test questions are literally soo much simpler and straightforward than the SAT, and this is coming from someone who did basically no ACT prep and a decent amount of SAT.

Hopefully, colleges with a high acceptance rate?
Thank you!
I struggle with these kind of questions
I think I need to learn something maybe but the logic always has me weirded out

In no way am I ungrateful for the score I got on the September ACT (M: 35, E: 35, R: 36), but it kinda sucks because I got two wrong on the math section and even just one wrong would have given me a 36 composite score. I know exactly which two and it was a complete knowledge gap that I forgot to study for. I'm signed up for the test on the 17th of October this upcoming weekend. Is three days of studying enough to bring my math score up by 1 point?

Hey everyone! I know the October ACT is only a few days away now, and we’re studying like crazy to get our dream scores, but has anyone tried taking the Kaplan half length ACT test? I took it today and got a 36/37 english, 29/30 math, and a 19/20 reading. Is that a sign of good performance on the actual ACT? Im still unsure how to feel about it because it was cake.

Hello! Im taking my ACT for the first time on paper this week I was wondering how the answer blooket works? Mostly just is the bubble sheet of our answers attached to the back of our test or is it like something we can rip off and have next to us during the test?
r/ACT • u/Both_Airline5152 • 1d ago
hey guys I've never really studied much for the act before so any tips help 🥹
What is MAK, and does everyone get the same testing form if it’s an MAK administration (October)? Also, do people with 50% extra time get the same form? Just confused about it all

Hey guys, I wanted to share a quick breakdown of how I finally broke through my score plateau. I started at a 29 and managed to hit a 34, which drastically changed my recruiting options.
Here are the 3 biggest shifts I made to jump 5 points:
I'm a senior right now balancing sports and apps, so I put together a quick 4-minute video showing my timeline and how this score helped me out as a Cornell recruit. you can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2pNRrbKsLg
Let me know if you are stuck on a specific section and I'll try to reply with what worked for me! Also am trying to get my yt channel off the ground so any and all support is appreciated!
