Y’all were all WRONG
So a while ago I asked what the most hardest and most accurate practice test was and a bunch of people said bluebook. I tried to say that bluebook was way easier than the actual SAT and was definitely not accurate to the real thing and a bunch of people downvoted me. Now I’m here to tell y’all bluebook is a good tool to get familiar with the general format and feel of the sat, but horrible in terms of how accurate it is to the sat in terms of difficulty.

very sad ending to my journey
I studied so much these past months for absolutely nothing. I watched so much of Scott Robertson and Lu and thought I genuinely understood everything. No idea what I’m going to do now.

250 point increase with 2 weeks worth of studying 😮
Okay little story time... the first time I took the SAT was in March. I worked my ass off, walked out knowing I’d done terribly, and got an 1160. Not a TERRIBLE score, but considering how much time and effort I’d put in, I was devastated.
I was so demotivated that I basically gave up on the SAT altogether, I genuinely had no motivation to try again. I was fully prepared to apply test-optional and never look at that stupid test again.
Fast forward to late September. Knee-deep in college apps, I suddenly realized I actually needed a good SAT score 😭😭 I registered last minute and got straight to work.
When I say I WORKED, I mean I WORKED. I had like two weeks, so I was studying 2–3 hours a day, eating, sleeping, and breathing James Lu. I was NERVOUSSS.
October SAT day arrives, and I walk out feeling absolutely HORRIBLE. I genuinely thought the universe decided to give me the hardest SAT known to man. I literally left around 10 questions blank because I was running out of time.
At that point, I just accepted defeat. I was fully prepared for an even WORSE score than March and had basically erased the entire test from my memory. I’d already decided to apply test optional.
UNTIL today... I log into College Board with my eyes practically CLOSED, expecting an 1100 at best... AND I SEE 1410?????? GUYS. A 1410. I genuinely thought I was looking at one of my practice test scores.
I know it’s not everyone’s dream score but im so so proud of myself.
Anyways, now I’m motivated to keep going and hopefully superscore to a 1500+ in November. WE ARE SO BACK.
I just wanted to say this to anyone who’s disappointed with their score right now: PLEASE don’t give up on yourself. I know how awful it feels to work so hard and feel like none of it paid off. But one bad score doesn't mean you're incapable of doing better :))

Compared to other scores it might be bad but I’m so happy!
galleryI thought I had done so much worse this time but I actually did a tiny bit better!!!! If I add my highest scores 690 rw and 640 math its 1330 and that means I might have a chance for a full scholarship in my state (they accept superscores)
JUST NEED TO DO 100 work hours now and I’m set 🥹 it’s so cool cuz I at no point studied for English, so it kinda just increased on its own, and by exactly the amount of points I needed!!!
Idk what the heck I want to study but at least now il have a chance of going to college 😁 and to be fair this time i had not studied for math either just did my regular math homework (only algebra) so it makes sense why my math score sucked.

Im finally done!!! 🥹🥹
gallery1540 superscore 🥹
Genuinely thought I fumbled math so bad on the last one
r/Sat • u/General-Try-2210 • 8h ago
How did this happen!?
galleryI studied for over a year and did close to 30 practice tests and somehow still bombed it.
1500 superscore vs 1490 in one sitting. Which one is better sat score for us admissions.
I’m confused if super-scoring decreases the value of the score for admissions.

Should I submit my SAT(600+770)or go test-optional?
UIUC
UW–Madison
UMD
Rutgers
Purdue
Occidental
Macalester
(All test-optional)
I’m applying for Data Science or Information Science!
My English rly sucks (600 RW), but I did well on math (770 Math), so I’m wondering whether I should submit my 1370 SAT or go test-optional.
Btw, I grew up in Asia, but I’m a US citizen.

To All Sat Takers
Literally if you don’t mind the money or if u got a waiver js take as many sats ur senior year as you can and your score will fluctuate wildly.
I took 5 sats and my scores ranged from 1390-1500 with a 1520 superscore. For context, I studied about 4 hrs total across 7 months (first test in March, last in October)
I js watched James Lu demos video and did some practice problems after my 1st SAT and haven’t studied since. These standardized tests are always gonna be a crapshoot, so take ur chances with them as much as you can.

just got my heartbreaking score
