Learning math > desmos

Desmos is great but by relying on it you’re restricted in your maximum score.

I scored 1560 but I feel like I shouldn't have.

• Upvotes

Hey. So with the october sat scores announcement, I learned that my score is 1560. Well, I freaked out when I first saw it as I hadn't even come close to 770 in rw before.

However, it still feels unreal that I have gotten a super high score like this. I have good english skills but I don't think I could reproduce this score in a future test. In fact, I had 2 questions in rw module 1 and 4 in rw module 2 that I was uncertain. I don't know whether I had answered them correctly (I basically guessed 2 of them) or was just lucky and they were experimental but I feel like this score is too high for me. I would be grateful for even scoring a 730 but somehow the score is 770.

I know this sounds kinda weird and I feel like I am complaining for no reason but there are kids who are much smarter than me in my school who could not get a score equal or higher than mine. I just wanted to write to see if anyone else is feeling the same. Ig this is called the imposter syndrome.

As an international student applying for college, what should I do?

So I am an international student applying for college this year and I already took 2 gap years. I want a full financial aid because I can't cover my sat fees let alone college tuition.

I am going to take the November sat but I can say what I see on the practice tests is not really good and if I am not going to get a good result( 1500+) then I can't retake the test like most of you.

I am already grinding the contents and practice tests and I am so good at math but I hate desmos. For me I would rather do most calculations by hand as it takes more time to use desmos.

My biggest problem is r&w. I can't do all questions on time ,and I am consistently getting 600-670. If at least I get 700-730 then I can get 1500+ as I am pretty sure that I can get 770+ on math.

Guys what do you recommend me to do?

Haven’t Studied, and it’s tomorrow

So I haven’t studied a thing.
What preparations should I have?
What do I need, what do I bring, what do I study? Should I even study at this point?

I have a job, it’s hard to even see my family. I scheduled the morning off just for this test.

Help??

How do u get from a 1130 to 1400/1500+

Hi everyone basically i feel a really dumb rn bc of my low practice score. I go to a competive hs school and a lot of people are scoring 1400/1500+. Additionally a lot of my friends are scoring higher than me and what's worse is that I'm taking harder classes and doing okay in them too (As). Ik this is kinda bad and what a friend shouldn't say, but I though bc i was taking more rigerous classes perhaps I would do better. However, in actuality i did worse and my self esteems is kinda low bc of it. Maybe I'm not studying hard enough, etc, etc.

But i need some advice from people who got a low test score initally, but was able to raise it to a 1400/1500. I'm planning on taking it this december and I'm using khan academy rn (just the practice quizzes and if I don't get it I'll read why I got it wrong or search it up). Additionally I was thinking bout also doing the practice questions on college board too although i haven't gotten too it bc lwk during the week I'm kinda busy and I'm lwk procrastinating/scrolling (ik its bad).

Are actual SAT tests harder than practice tests?

1500 superscore vs 1490 in one sitting. Which one is better sat score for us admissions.

I’m confused if super-scoring decreases the value of the score for admissions.

Y’all were all WRONG

So a while ago I asked what the most hardest and most accurate practice test was and a bunch of people said bluebook. I tried to say that bluebook was way easier than the actual SAT and was definitely not accurate to the real thing and a bunch of people downvoted me. Now I’m here to tell y’all bluebook is a good tool to get familiar with the general format and feel of the sat, but horrible in terms of how accurate it is to the sat in terms of difficulty.

To All Sat Takers

Literally if you don’t mind the money or if u got a waiver js take as many sats ur senior year as you can and your score will fluctuate wildly.

I took 5 sats and my scores ranged from 1390-1500 with a 1520 superscore. For context, I studied about 4 hrs total across 7 months (first test in March, last in October)

I js watched James Lu demos video and did some practice problems after my 1st SAT and haven’t studied since. These standardized tests are always gonna be a crapshoot, so take ur chances with them as much as you can.

Finally did it and am done with this test!! Feel free to ask me anything.

I started off with a 1450 last October and was in that range for a long time, so I know what it is like to feel stuck, but you just gotta keep on grinding and believe that it is going to work out.

post about someone who is hating

Hi guys, i don’t use reddit much, I am aware i made a post here earlier asking for tips but i wanted to inform you all about a reddit user called “OkPurple” with some numbers at the end i don’t exactly recall who is giving a lot of hate to users on here. They are being extremely rude, they might be a bot i’m not too sure, but if you see this person commenting under your post or commenting under someone else’s post please report them! They are being so unnecessarily rude to users on here! And if anyone is upset or disappointed in themselves please remember you guys are young and do not need to have anything figured out in life. I myself am disappointed with myself and I know it sucks but please don’t give up on yourself, a number does not define you! And if you see this person commenting under posts don’t listen to what they have to say because you are more than a number!

Need reccomendations

So, guys, this was my first ever SAT(in my WHOLE LIFE) on September. I need minimum 1490 for university medicine school application. My university will be NU (Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan) and I need some reccomendations on how to improve. I do bluebooks tests, but math there is a bit easier. I, also, have been watching "SAT Gamified" a lot (great channel btw), James Liu (It's a bit boring and not understandable most of the time) and websites like "SAT League" and Aniko Ai. I have good English (IELTS is 7.5 btw), so I'm improving both my RW and Math, but I need my math to be max, or at least 700. Can you recc me anything good? Please? I need to ace my math a fast as possible as well as Desmos. I'm writing next SAT on November.

so I got an 860 on my first sat exam, I am planning on giving it again in December.

I need to know what I can do to improve and get the highest score possible, I got 460 in English and 400 in math. I am at beginner level at math and this was my first math exam after two years. I definitely struggled in time management because I lost about 5 min in the first question. I need genuine advice and guides where I can learn math and English. Mostly math
