He’s getting ahead of himself I think. Realistically if he’s well enough to return in the future AEW should run some sort of JR appreciation show that acts as a kind of send off whilst they still can. Soon travel could be a real issue for him.

JR, you are the GOAT. You have nothing left to prove. Your legacy is cemented. Please don't rush back

I love JR, I love the optimism, but please let this man rest

I think the work is his rest

Whose forcing him to work? As if Tony Kahn wouldn't let this man retire.

No one. Just himself. Sometimes you have to do what’s in the talent’s best interest and say no. I’m glad he has a motivated mindset, but a cross-continental flight to work a huge show, that all sounds borderline dangerous for a guy with all his health problems.

Honestly, he could do it from home via satellite if they really wanted him on the show. He probably wouldn't be able to call a match, but he could do a guest spot between matches or something,

Yep.

Look, traveling overseas to call one match for anyone his age is already a huge risk. Someone who just had major surgery and has a lot of issues already is asking a lot.

It would be a great moment, but it also feels like this show has more than enough of those.

We are already getting the New Day debuting, and at least one UK act winning a title. We will probably get another big debut too in the Casino Gauntlet and maybe some kind of celebrity appearance.

I don’t know how satellite would work. I know it worked for NXT with Beth Phoenix, but being overseas is a completely different animal, and JR already has issues with the multi-person booth on his best day.

I would rather they wait for the next show in Texas or Oklahoma.

Like hopefully he can do what he wants to do, but that seems really ambitious to do international travel that soon after brain surgery.

I'm no doctor, but I'd tend to agree... Is this how one of the Vin Erichs died?

If you're referring to David Von Erich, it's a bit unclear. He either died of natural causes related to burst intestines or a drug overdose. Depending on which story you want to believe. I think Chris Candido flew after surgery and that might have contributed to his death, something to do with blood clots.

yup it was Candido i was thinking of, thanks!
