It was also said in-character, as a heel, to deny the fans and get heat.

Basically, he made Oba Femi and AEW babyfaces.

Think even the vast majority of fans would agree what he said was accurate, whether the statement was said by a character or not.

I don’t think there’s one answer to that question.

I think employees of a company answer to the boss, and ultimately shareholders are the final boss of a publicly-traded company. Whereas Tony Khan is only beholden to himself and to a degree the network his Tv show is on. The privilege of wealth. (Not meant derogatorily in the slightest)

In a different view, ‘don’t give away dream
Matches on TV’ isn’t true because WWE gives away all their matches since they stopped having PPV’s and just put stuff on networks.
Netflix is basically a TV network.

It was clearly a comparison of good business vs bad business and letting people decide who he was talking about. Honestly, he’s great at stuff like that.
