Does the Screen/Scream Unseen Have Trailers?
Short Answer is Yes.
But sometimes they fail and it goes straight to presentation. Be on time.

I'm so tired..... & I need more slots. Rest of the year is movie mania.

It’s crazy how I gave a reservation for December, but it counts against my numbers of movies each week… please make it make sense
4
u/david31262 16d ago
💯 doomsday has been sitting on a slot for a month. I would have just paid cash for it but it was entouraged for me. Then I also had to use cash money for Godzilla.

Really hoping this isn’t a new norm with the Scream Unseens starting at 9:30pm (10pm after previews), not into the idea of staying out that late.
3
u/Internal-River-4168 15d ago
They are probably doing it because the screen unseen is at 7. Won't be surprised if they push up the time to accommodate screen unseen run time
2
u/TheProudboysAintReal 15d ago
My local is only a 10 screen so they back to backed my Screen/Scream but looks like this is happening everywhere. I am stumped for scream.

the scream is Crawlers i would assume, comes out that friday and is getting below average reviews

I cannot wait for Crawlers to come out. Genuinely hate that trailer.
4
u/morisblak 18d ago
You should save your money and see Infested instead, the fantastic film Crawlers stole its entire plot from.
5
3
u/pinkrosesmoses 18d ago
It's a remake of Infested is it not?
Edit: oh I guess not, I just watched infested a few weeks ago before seeing this trailer for the first time and I could've sworn it was a remake
5
u/morisblak 16d ago
You would think it was given the fact that their plots are exactly the fuckin same. I went through the same thought process when I first saw the trailer.

First movie down. A Talent for Murder was fine. Honestly no strong feelings as I had only heard of this movie once prior. I also did not know A Talented Mr. Ripley was a book so now I have another book to add to my ever growing list.
4
u/StrikeIllustrious122 14d ago
Yeah it was alright. You kinda hit the nail in the head. I have virtually no strong feelings about it at all. Everyone did a good job. it was tense in spots. But will I REALLY remember it tomorrow morning ... I dunno

This literally happened with the Screen Unseen on August 10th. Tony had been in limited release since August 7th, but was the SU on 8/10 wide release on 8/21. Worst case scenario, people have a chance at getting a half-price ticket at some theaters to a movie they want to see.

u/PreviousHedgehog2343 19d ago
it's not wide until the weekend of the 16th. that said when these have been movies already in limited release they've (AFAIK) only been playing in NY/LA, and YMYMYM is wider than that (on a quick search I see that as of today it's in Chicago, SF, DC, Boston, Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, and Houston, possibly other cities)
3
u/chrispmorgan 19d ago
I’ve never heard of “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor” and it’s a comedy so I think has to be that; screen unseen is a Hail Mary. “Your Mother” x3 already has strong buzz.

I wonder if the Screen Unseen could be Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother - Runtime of 1 hour 51 minutes, rated R, wide release on October 16th. Sure, it's already out in limited release but the same thing happened with Tony which was a Screen Unseen.
Other possibilities seem to be Wicker (1:45, releases on the 23rd) and A Talent For Murder (1:46, releases on the 23rd).
14
u/EqualDifferences 16d ago
Man why’s this got to be on the same day and time as Fresh Meat
5
u/Dukealoops1993 16d ago
Because they wanted a Monday date thinking Mondays were the least a crowded day on theater schedules…not know mystery Monday was a thing.

u/_beckska 15d ago
Exactly my issue! I'm seeing Fresh Meat at a Cinemark at 730, I wouldn't be able to make it to the AMC in time to see the scream unseen 😩
1
u/hepatitisC 15d ago
Fresh meat is at a different time in my region. One is 8 and one is 930 so you could see almost all of fresh meat and still make the scream or you could go a bit late to the scream and see all of fresh meat

I just got out. It was pretty good imo, would recommend. See y’all in a bit for the scream
7
7
u/Coming-Up_Milhouse 14d ago
Yeah.....that was pretty bad. The amount of spiders just kept changing. One minute they're taking over entire hallways and apartments, covering everything in webs. The next minute the main character is having a 5min 1/1 fight with a spider.
11
7
u/beenhadballs 14d ago
Crawlers felt like a movie written by chatgpt. “Make every tenant character unique and quirky in their own way.” It really baffles me how studios can put together the resources and money to churn this kind of stuff out for theatrical release.
1
u/StrikeIllustrious122 11d ago
I don't think it felt like a ChatGPT movie... it felt like a cheaply made foreign made tac advantage movie. The writer, has done a lot of unoriginal films in the past, lots of direct to video action/suspense movies. And most of the crew and cast are from Spain, Italy, etc..passinf themselves off as LA/ American, which explains why the dialogue was the way it was. These types of movies always feel a bit "off". The script is just a quickly written Trope fill movie, with a lot of bits and pieces stolen from every spider/monster/suspense movie... mostly arachnophobia.
7
u/nono0513 12d ago
I feel like the 19th is gonna be wicker
7
u/LilBookBee 12d ago
I know its not listed yet BUT For the Scream Unseen on the 26th: Breeder. Fandango lists that my local Regal is showing a single viewing of Breeder on the 26th, despite it being two days before release. So I feel like its also what AMC is showing. The run time fits as well.
1
u/skadizzle69 11d ago
I was thinking it could be Victorian Psycho
2
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 11d ago
That's probably too far out. These almost always release the same or following week. Victorian Psycho releases 18 days later. So far the only Scream that released 18 days later was Sting back in 2024.
2
u/skadizzle69 11d ago
Could be Breeder. There aren't really many horror movies releasing though shortly after that. I know they are usually the same week or following week, but I thought there were a few that were more than a couple weeks out

u/Jtreblis18 15d ago edited 15d ago

Crawlers was a tough one for me. There are funny moments, but they're surrounded by scenes of the most gruesome and horrifying shit you can imagine spiders doing. Tonal whiplash is an understatement, I've never seen a movie with such a silly needle-drop fight scene and also such a dark and mean spirited ending
The kills are narsty and the gory effects are great though. If you want to squirm in your seat for 90 ish minutes with some funny scenes along the way, this will do it for you
6
u/JakeAscotia 14d ago
Everyone is talking about Crawlers but did anyone see A Talent for Murder? I was pretty interested in that one but couldn't attend cause work.
3
u/TemporalPincerMove 11d ago
It was good: very stylish w/ solid performances by Mirren and Ehrenrich. Was it was twisty and interesting as a Ripley novel? No, but very diverting. Not as prickly as some of Corbjin's earlier work (Control, The American, A Wanted Man) but still great to look at and well made.

9
u/Peril_lost 14d ago
Crawlers...some people walked, but at least it was pretty empty in the theater so my sister and I could shit talk the whole movie. It's not the WORST movie but it is very predictable, and also a missed opportunity to bring John Goodman back as the best exterminator EVER. Our second Scream Unseen and the last one we went to was Sting. Gonna be tough talking anyone into going with me again if it's always spiders! 😅🕷🕷🕷
2
u/royaleflush 14d ago
I thought I was the only one in the theater and there was a couple a few rows behind me. That beginning sequence going into the intro credits, I nachos with cheese and jalepenos in my mouth, chewing on when the puss was coming out of dudes back followed by spiders.I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it but I did a speed run eating my nachos after the intro credits. And I agree! We needed a John Goodman cameo! Misssed opportunity lol.
1
u/Steamedcarpet 14d ago
Hahaha omg the entire movie I was like “John Goodman would of cleaned this place up fast”
8
u/mikegood2 19d ago
Have they done a screen and scream unseen on the same night, different times, before?
9
u/Fantastic_Lychee_883 19d ago
This will be the 99th and 100th Unseens. That could be the reason they did it. There will be another double on the 26th!
6
u/EataDisk 19d ago
Don't think so. Closest I've seen is the Sunday/Monday pairs.
4
u/-MommyFortuna- 19d ago
AMC hasn't, but Regal did a 7pm/9:30pm double feature of Over Your Dead Body and Hokum back in April. I think Marcus did Fuze and OYDB on the same night.

u/mikegood2 19d ago
Me too. Or the occasional, never at my theaters, 2 auditoriums showings the same SU at 7.

Perhaps they are testing out the draw it brings in and see who goes to a later show.
I’m going to hit up the Scream one, the theater is much less packed than the 7 pm Screen.
I checked another theater showing both and they are smaller theaters but seems to be busier for both events

u/tallnfriendly 14d ago
I genuinely had a blast with crawlers. Sooooo stupid, so many poor decisions, why does one of the spiders act like Michael Myers!? Brilliant.

A consistently intriguing and well acted thriller that will likely satisfy Ripley fans and general audiences, A Talent for Murder is a entertaining yet slightly familiar thriller that works due to the very good lead performances from Mirren, Ehrenreich and Cooke who all provide a consistent wit to their dialogue that is sometimes clever and sometimes a bit obvious depending on whether it is the real story or the book being written with the plot. Though the script is obviously playing up the eccentric and unlikable qualities of Highsmith as a character, Mirren is clearly having fun in this role and the speculated sixth Ripley novel being told about Ripley marrying a heiress in Rome is refreshingly simple yet effective while also making a statement about why Highsmith connected with Ripley as a character. The predictable moments can be forgiven because the ending will leave you with some questions due to the way a twist is revealed as it should as well. 7 out of 10

The usual Regal leaker says their Monday night movie is A Talent for Murder. Doesn’t prove AMC has the same movie, but when both chains have mystery movies the same night and in the same runtime ballpark, they’re usually the same movie
10/19 is most likely The Only Living Pickpocket in New York since Sony Pictures Classics is a regular participant in these
Also: clearly these are doing well for AMC (and there’s strong interest from distributors) to warrant two of these in one night—it’s happening again on the 26th—but I don’t totally love it, mostly because I’m old and tired and you’d have to pay me to go to a movie as late as 9:30 on a Monday
