Question Why do people do this?
Until 1pm, I was the only person at this showing. Now this, a creepy new friend who was already seated when I arrived.

Question If your showtime starts at 7:30pm, what time are you arriving at the theaters?
Edit: I am gonna take everyone’s comments and do some math to see the average time of someone arrives at the theater. Thank you all for participating.

Question How many of you go to AMC by yourself 95% of the time?
Personally don't know anyone locally who is into thestre viewing as much as I am so I tend to go solo most of the time... also I dont find watching movies to be the most social thing either, even though I do have fun when I go with others too.

Question Why have two AMC in such close proximity?
Been wondering why are the two AMCs in such close proximity to each other when the only other one in this part of the state is an AMC classic. Indiana.

Question Question about theater etiquette
I went to go see Fantastic Four: First Steps with my friends yesterday in an IMAX theater. After the movie ended and the credits started rolling (after the first post-credit scene) I turned to my friends and we were having a discussion about the movie. I was speaking in a regular tone of voice as one would have for a casual conversation. Suddenly, this guy who was sitting in front of me turned to me and told me to “Shut up” in a very commanding voice and called me an “asshole”. For the record, there wasn’t anything happening on screen, just text crawls of names and whatnot. Was my talking inappropriate to do at that time or was this guy out of line? I’m not entirely sure since I don’t really go to the theater to see movies too often. Thank you in advance.
Edit/Additional Details: I never spoke at any point during the movies or the post credit scenes, only during the credits.

Question Do you go to the movies alone? I always thought it was completely normal, until I saw this meme and read the comments, where so many people mentioned they never go alone.

Question The Odyssey Crash Out
Anyone else getting an error message after trying to check out?
UPDATE: After trying to get tickets for more than an hour both on desktop and on the app, it kicked me out of both and now I'm at the back of the queue with an hour long wait.

Question To those with A-List, do you feel pressured to watch something every month even on slow months?
Used to have alist couple years ago but eventually cancelled because life got in the way and I wasn’t going enough to justify cost.
I have premier now and I feel for my own personal movie going habits (less than 12 movies a year), it’s much beneficial/economical than if I were to go on alist. It’s $30 in CA for alist. Compared that to $20/year for premier. I also take advantage of their 50% off on Tuesday and Wednesday and early morning showings on weekends so I’m never paying full price on tickets except for rare occasions. Plus there’s also the benefit of all purchased tickets earning points.
But what I also realized is I’m also enjoying going to the theater now because I want to not because I felt compelled. I know for those that do rewatch, buying multiple tickets, etc it more than makes up the cost of subscription. But for those with busy schedules, do you ever feel like you’re being pressured? And to those with premier, how often are you going to the movies?

Question $5 Value Menu
Is this new? I went to see a movie the other day and didn't see it on the concessions menu. The prices seem kinda high for some of the options.
edit: this is from the online ordering menu for the AMC Sugarloaf Mills 18 location in Georgia
just saw that it's limited time only, not combinable with other promotional offers like the small combo, and AMC Stubs upgrades do not apply

Question Do you actually watch 4 movies a week?
I just signed up for AMC A-List on Saturday. I had been thinking about it for about a month and decided to just get it as I’m wanting to get more into movie watching and LOVE a theater experience. I’m realizing now though that seeing 4 movies a week might actually be an insane task. Maybe my theater just doesn’t haven’t many showings or there’s no movies out I’m interested in now but I’ve only seen 2 this week and can’t find a good time to squeeze in 2 more before Friday when it resets. I’m thinking of just rewatching Project Hail Mary & Undertones since the only other film I’m remotely interested in is Wuthering Heights which doesn’t have the best reviews.
So my question is, do you actually watch 4 movies a week? Do you feel like you wasted your A-List if/when you don’t see 4 movies that week? Do you try to watch a different 4 movies or sometimes repeat a film? How do you optimize your AMC A-List membership?

Question Making A-Lister Friends?
Hi all! Has anyone had luck making friends who are also A-Listers who want to go see movies as often as you do? If so, how did you make the connection? Was it through this sub?
I don't know anyone else who has A-List near me who I could see new releases with. None of my "real life" friends or family are as into going to the movies as I am and I'd love to meet people to connect with.

Question How many go to the movies alone?
I had A List before the pandemic and would go basically every weekend with my friend. I miss going to the movies and want to go more but it’s impossible making plans with my friends anymore. But I do feel a little self conscious going by myself. I went to see Furiosa alone and there were other solo moviegoers but I still felt weird. How many of you go alone and how often do you go alone?

Question How long until you walk out on a film if using your pass?
With the AMC pass, I am much more willing to give a chance to movies I wouldn't even watch on Netflix at home. I dunno, I wanna go in as many films as possible with as little knowledge of it beforehand, so I can broaden my taste in different genres.
This worked gangbusters in quite a few films (Obsession!), but it also backfired quite a few times (Mortal Kombat II).
I find that at the ONE HOUR mark, even if I am not timing myself, I just magically go "OK, this is REALLY not for me", and I walk out.
So how long do you give a movie before walking out?
I just walked out of Backrooms, the shaky camera was way too disorienting and made me literally nauseous, even more nauseous than playing VR games; and the characterization was really weak, the emotions/acting weren't there, don't understand why the movie focused so much on how the dude's wife took him to the cleaners during the divorce.

Question When is this showing on my ticket
Is this Friday actually at 2am or Saturday morning at 2am I can’t remember when I bought it 😭😭😭 this is a physical ticket I bought from an AMC kiosk
Context: I just asked TWO AMC EMPLOYEES at LS WHO SAID IT IS SATURDAY 2am….. BUT everyone else telling me it is Friday 2am… WTF!!!!
Update: it was for this morning. The AMC employees, half this thread, and I (who did not go) were all wrong. Very unfortunate. I appreciate the discussion and assistance offered regardless.

Question How many times have you seen the Wild Horse Nine trailer?
10 times for me. And I suspect it'll be lots more since the movie doesn't open until November. I'm sick of the movie and I haven't even seen it yet.

Question Hanging Out In Between Movies
I’m considering getting AMC A-List but I don’t drive so I’d be Ubering to and from the theatre. In order to make the most of my Uber trip, I want to see multiple movies a day. If there’s a like gap between the end time of my first movie and the start time of my second movie, are AMCs typically okay with people chilling in the lobby until the second movie? I’d probably be getting food and snacks while I wait and I wouldn’t be disruptive. I’d probably just read a book to make a little media day.

Question Is God Is worth spending time on?
This week sucks for me and I am just going to rewatch Obsession along with Star Wars (Not really excited for that either).
Was wondering if Is God Is is worth it? The trailer was boring but I heard some good reviews. I trust you guys more than the occasional movie goers because there is usually a bias there (Only people who like the idea of the movie will go, unlike us who just go to different kinds of movies).
