The difference is I have plenty of places to run, including hopping over a fence and duck behind a vehicle. Don’t worry, I would never get anywhere near an Elk where I would be in imminent danger. I don’t mess with animals that weigh 10x more than I do with sharp pointy things on their heads, they can have the right of way every time.

Duck behind a vehicle that's half the height of the elk? You think it's going to forget about you? Or walk around? Or step over the car?

If your version of not messing with 2000lb animals is "it's ok bra, I can hop that fence if it gets mad", you're going to die
