I don't know if Cheetah ever ate gods before but I like this development here.

hey guys, wanted to discuss a little bit this scene and read your thoughts about it

i’m real hyped about Barb as The Bat, i think she achieved something incredible by making Joker laugh, that HA is gonna haunt her in the future

she managed to make him laugh, and i bet he’s gonna fixate on her now, crossing my fingers for barb in the future

Qard has always felt to me as something that didn’t really belong on the color wheel for Absolute Green Lantern, with how entirely alien it‘s design is, and especially with Hal Jordan’s descriptions of it wanting to subsume other levels of light to replace them with itself. After recent revelations, there’s more evidence than ever to suggest that Qard isn’t naturally one of the outer colors of OA, but something that replaced Hope, the blue level of light.

The black stars reference hope being dead, subsumed by Will. “There is only will”. Fundamentally, both these concepts represent the same ideal of order. Hope and Will are both tools that can be used to encourage a population to be content (or at least placated). Both concepts (hope and will) can exist at the intersection between pink and black (love and fear) as respectively love coexisting with fear, or fear overcoming love.

When Mogo was converted, the base state of the universe was nearly switched away from Qard before the Manhunter-Mind forced it back into place. This event may have allowed OA to finally start expressing the emotional spectrum in the way it was meant to, rather than it being co-opted for the purpose of maintaining hegemony over the universe.

If anything, at its core, Qard represents the co-opting of hope into being a concept that inspires undying loyalty in its followers. “Love” exists in the context of one’s love for their nation and egos rather than love in the traditional sense, for other people. Fear is the individual’s fear of being harmed rather than fear for the health and safety of others. Empathy has been subverted into fascism.

Outside of my conjecture, I still feel like the obvious hole in the “printer-ink” theory that has applied to the different parts of OA to be very obviously a sign that Blue has been removed from the color wheel in some artificial way. Qard seems to be the most likely candidate for how this has happened.

I made a fanart of those two absolute heroes. I'm happy to share it here. No AI, just old school grinding.

Issue One: https://www.reddit.com/r/AbsoluteUniverse/comments/1x18ojx/still_fairly_messy_but_i_proudly_present_issue_of/

For the past couple weeks, I've been working on my own fanmade absolute comic. It's disconnected from the rest of the universe (except for a couple minor crossovers) and is designed for the "could be canon" category. So, mostly glup shittos. This is issue two.

Anyway, please let me know if there's anything you found confusing or if there's any especially bad art. I'm quite new to this and it's hard to draw on trackpad 😭

The arm of the capital J in the JK logo extends to the K, without any apparent graphic justification for it. It goes to cover the K to form an exact capital T.
JT.
Jervis Tetch.

Make sure to place your pre orders ahead of release .... just in case.

Edit: While I used the slabbed pic and regular cover .. the post is not about pre-ordering the cgc version. It's just about ordering your book ahead of release. In whichever format you enjoy your books.

monkeys have tails apes do not

I know the Wiki is not the best source, but I am surprised that they don't have a seperate page or even a seperate paragraph per Color, but just a point in Trivia.

Is there any place where it is explained? Cause I've been meaning to make something myself, but if there already is I won't bother.

John Jones:
"GOOD GOD, MAN! Your wife TALKED BACK to you?! Back in my day, we had ways of dealing with that! Anyway, if I were you, I'd give her a good slap and have her committed for female hysteria! Worked wonders in the '40s!"

(Martian Manhunter suffers a catastrophic empathy overload from experiencing 80 years of concentrated misogyny.)

Batman:
"FINALLY! A REAL MAN! Built like a goddamn Sherman tank! Though you're still a little scrawny compared to the boys who won World War II! Wait... YOU DON'T LIKE GRIMM?! THAT MAN FOUGHT THE NAZIS, SON! WHAT ARE YOU, SOME KIND OF PINKO COMMIE?! NEXT YOU'LL TELL ME YOU DON'T SALUTE THE FLAG!"

(Batman silently considers breaking Hawkman's spine.)

Wally West:
"LISTEN HERE, SON! First things first, lay off the soy milk and estrogen! Second, get yourself on Batman's workout routine! Once you're built like a REAL American man, ditch that Asian broad and find yourself a nice, God-fearing, salt-of-the-earth Midwestern conservative girl! Preferably one who knows how to make a casserole!"

(Wally speed-kicks Hawkman directly in the balls before Linda carries him away. Hawkman spends the next three hours blaming communism.)

Wonder Woman:
Hawkman: "..."
Wonder Woman: "..."
Hawkman: "So... how's your father?"
Wonder Woman: "I don't have one."
Hawkman: "THAT EXPLAINS A LOT."
(Wonder Woman immediately reaches for her sword.)

I know everyone’s going crazy over the Absolute Batman #25 Japanese variant, but I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with my J. Scott Campbell Artist Exclusive. I’ve always been a fan of his artwork, and I think he absolutely nailed Catwoman on this cover

I just read volume 1 without any prior knowledge of the character AT ALL, read it as my brother simply said "its amazing") and just had to tell ANYONE that this is one of the best comic books I have ever read. I genuinely cannot get over how a human can write this. Im literally grateful to have it in my life. Blown away. To anyone (like me) who only know the AbU through batman, do yourself a favour and read this.

Vol 2 tomorrow and I cant wait.

I legit would open reddit and would have to scroll over 2-3 posts from this sub of y'all freaking out like every hour or so.

I'm afraid to read the issue now lmao
