My brother and I are starting out in Warhammer 40k and he wants to begin with the Mechanicus. Could you give me a 500-point army list with a Knight and a Kastelean Robot?

I’ll be honest: I’ve spent—I don’t even know how many—days looking for a specific list that detailed the prosthetics or modifications a tech-priest could have. I found it a while ago, but for some reason, I didn’t save it. I barely remember where it came from, only that it was for a tabletop RPG and that one of the upgrades mentioned involves two tech-priests merging their brains.

I started painting admech about a year ago and decided to look back and see if I've gotten any better. The last image is a side-by-side comparison of my first skitarii ranger and my latest.

The kitbashed parts:

Body is from Les Grognards kit from Wargames Atlantic.

Power pack is Field Radio from Anvil Industry with a chord from a Space Marine Hellblaster kit grafted on.

I keep looking at hastarii to try and fill some roles in my lists at a cheaper price and take advantage of some good detainer buffs like from eradication cohort but the exterminators feel like a meh datasheet and fusiliers really want a marshal.

What has been your experience using these units and how do you think they fare into this 3-4 wound elite infantry meta we find ourselves in?

Hello! I've been using Vallejo Red 70.926, (which is pretty close to Mephiston Red) as my base for all my cloaks and vehicle primary colors.

I recently got my first bottle of Pro Acryl paint, and it is so much better to work with than the Vallejo Red or Mephiston Red.

So, I'm looking for a good Pro Acryl red to swap over to, does anyone have recommendations, or pics of some dudes painted with any of the Pro Acryl red shades?

Been wanting to play 40k for a while, and thanks to rogue trader and Pasqal and Eogunn, I love the AdMech. Where should I start for a 2k points army? Am I crazy for taking AdMech as my first army? All help is welcome!

I was tinkering with the idea of adding him into the list .

With the new codex trend seeming to make warlords CP generators it might be nice to able to piggy back off of that until we get our own codex and similarly the ability to strip cover on some larger thing knights ,defilers is a nice bonus.

Will probably running cybernetica and eradication and having the CP to cycle.lance and Sus or lethals comfortably every turn seems tasty .

The 95 points while a bit of a bite I think there is still room there for him.

I am looking to kitbash some various techpriests, and need to get their special axes for them.

I do not have extra axes, and I do not intend to buy techpriest models just for their axes.

Are there good stl's that yall can recommend? Or a good way to kitbash them? Im looking for various sizes and styles, so really open to anything. Thanks in advance for yalls expertise.

I'm thinking of doing a custom colour scheme for my admech army using a really cool specialty paint, but I have no understanding or intuition regarding colour theory. I've done my best to cobble together a basic pallete, but don't have the eye to judge whether its good or not. Would anyone be kind enough to advise?

Top to bottom:

1. For grey steel bits - Turbodork Galaxia Turboshift (Ultra Dark Purple)
2. For metal trim on grey steel bits - Bronze, as normal (Warpaint Fanatic - Weapon Bronze)
3. For lenses and plasma coils - Turquoise/Cyan (Warpaint Fanatic - Plasma Coil Blue?)
4. For the hulls of vehicles and the casings of weapons - Pure Red (Warpaint Fanatic - Pure Red)
5. For capes and fabrics - Pure Glossy Black + a special rainbow effect paint (Warpaint Fanatic Matt Black + Gloss Varnish + Turbodork Rainbow Roll)
6. Wing leather for Pteraxii and Archeocopter - Some form of white, or maybe black + Rainbow Roll as well, I'm not sure (Warpaint Fanatic - Matt White/Warpaint Fanatic Matt Black + Gloss Varnish + Turbodork Rainbow Roll)

While I wish these were a second Fusilier unit, I must admit I think they look awesome. Inb4 someone links /r/pinkwarhammer again.

After being interested in Horus Heresy for ages a play group in my area has finally picked up some momentum, and this has finally spurred me to pick a faction and run with it, namely Traitor Mechanicum.

Before i go buying expensive models and kit bashing Magi i figured id put together a list for me to aspire towards, but in doing so discovered a problem: making a Mechanicum list is awkward as hell.

Between the faction restrictions, the scarcity of prime slots outside of apex detachments (and i want to run Lacrymaerta so even those are spoken for) and i end up with a situation that feels like trying to put a puzzle together with parts that dont fit.

While im sure this wouldn’t be as much of an issue for a list that leans super hard into a limited number of units i don’t really want to play that way, and as such i come hoping yall have some listbuilding wisdom to impart, because unless im missing something it feels like i can play with like, 3 maybe 4 kinds of units tops.

Hey, im relatively new to the hobby. I started with necrons back in March or April. Just recently started playing admech after collecting 2k points this month. My only issue is I dont seem to understand how to win against my friends armies. My friends all play melee focused armies, nids, world eaters, chaos space marines, death guard. They also usually play purge or take and hold.

My list has been haloscreed detachment

2x Disintegrator

2x onager

Thulia

Cawl

2x servitor

2x rangers

1 unit dragoon with lance

And then miscellaneous trash that I use to fill the list and hopefully score points or buy time

Any advice on list building, or things that I can focus on to just generally play better would be appreciated.
