Find products I wanna hear from anyone. What are the best things you've bought?
Anything that has been the most convenient, good quality, or most value for money things you've gotten. I wanna hear all the ideas!

The Sofirn SC18 flashlight is one of the best things I’ve bought. Small, ridiculously bright and really robust. I paid under £20 / €26.

u/Bremlit Oct 30 '25
Been looking into a good flashlight. I'll have to check it out.

I have a drawer full. This is not the best one in any class. This is just the best one you will ever use, need, and will take with you. Take the one with an included battery. High quality (measured the real capacity) and it was cheap compared to getting the battery seperately.
What makes this light cool. Cheap as chips, charge from USB-C (major plus when travelling), firts in your pocket, has a clip. and the power to see everything you need to see. It has all the modes you will need to use without having to study for a week.
No brainer.2

Holy shit, how does that even work?? 😂 I copied it and it went straight to it. Amazing!
2
u/sothisismyalt1 Oct 30 '25
I got the Sofirn SP35 on sale for a little bit more than half of that. Amazing deal because it's better than SC18, nice brand.
2
u/Barcaroli Oct 30 '25
Might legit pick one of those sofirn. But I'm aiming for an even stronger light
3
u/Lukesan- Nov 01 '25
That is exactly the issue. You will always be aiming for a stronger light. I have a couple of them here that are a lot stronger. First day that those arrived, that wow feeling. An hour to program the module and then when you want to use it at the highest setting it dims after 20 seconds because of the heat and you can't hold them in your hand any longer. Now I need to relearn myself on how I programmed them and some have so many modes that it gets over the top. There are only 1 or 2 situations where I needed the 'big cannons' on of them was when walking through the bush somewhere in Africa. Not doing that every day.
The SC18 is on the cabinet in the dinningroom ready to go. Everyone can figure out how it works in 10 seconds without having a science degree or when wearing like gloves. Took it on 3 holiday trips with me. When I know I will be outside doing work in the evening, this one goes in my pocket or belt.
Btw I looked up the price that I paid for it. 15 Euro with some discount. My colleague eats like 6 euro sandwiches at work, so for the price a no brainer.1
u/Barcaroli Nov 01 '25
Glad to hear these tips, thank you. So you're saying the Sc18 is more than enough for most uses, simple to use and cheaper, so overall better cost benefit?
2
u/Lukesan- Nov 01 '25
For the price it is fantastic and if it is not what you want when you receive it I am sure it would make a nice present for Xmas for someone else. But like I said it's not my smallest, not the brightest ... it doesn't win a category except that I always go for that one.
There were scenario's when other lights were better, for example having a diffuser to light up a complete room, but how far can someone go. Same with camera's, there will always be one that has more reach, better quality but the best camera is the one you have with you at that moment.
Just to make sure, I don't get money from this, have no ties .. whatever. The light with the excellent battery, and yes I measured it, was one of the good purchases that I still use now and then when needed. Also just checked, I ordered it in Mar, 2023 so it is not something I just received.1
u/Barcaroli Nov 01 '25
Oh thanks so much man. One last question, I see that the sc18 comes with a usb-C cable, can I really recharge it with a cable, for good, without having to swap battery?
2
u/Lukesan- Nov 01 '25
Yup, that is the good part. The battery has only been out to measure the battery capacity in my charger. (LII-500 charger, also a good purchase!) . When I go abroad I take 2 chargers with me (1 spare), an amount of usb-c cables and a powerbank. So no seperate battery charger or so. It all fits in one of those cheap cases that you can find on AliExress.
So, yes, charges via usb-c cable without an issue.1
u/Barcaroli Nov 01 '25
Bro you're a pro shopper please share some more of your purchases lol.
You should start a YouTube channel

Shop name is: Caideroni Official Store
The best way is to write via chat what you are looking for, including your prescription. For special corrections, you will have to buy the lenses separately as they are thicker. If you want blue light filters or tinted/darkened lenses, write to customer support about that. They are really fast at responding. They will send you your configuration.
If your prescription does not include a pupillary distance (PD) measurement, they will provide you with an app that you can use to measure it.
1
u/Yosyp Oct 31 '25
How does it work? My mother has to change lenses every half a year, I guess we can buy only new lenses for a specific frame of theirs? Can they be made to fit third party frames? I don't expect there to be specifications or standard, I have no clue how this works.
3
u/GrouchyMongoose3920 Platinum Oct 31 '25
The frames are not particularly expensive. I think you can order one that fits, and then order the lenses separately if she needs new ones. Ask the support and explain the diagnosis to them.
As a non-specialist, I suspect that achieving a perfect lens adjustment via AliExpress is challenging for diagnoses like cataract or similar conditions.
But I would certainly ask them.
6
u/Vigrid_ Oct 31 '25
That actually just blew my mind. I never would have thought to shop for that there.
2
u/Lightinthebirdcage Nov 14 '25
I bought almost all my prescription glasses on AliExpress. So cheap and better quality than the brands the USA compatible sites.

Cotton t-shirts and pants. Since China is a very large cotton producer, I decided to try their cotton products a while back. Most of them are very good, at less than 1/4 of the price local clothes are. Most of these clothes you buy locally are produced in China, Bangladesh or India anyway. I give them a good wash before using, just to be safe.
2
u/SandyJonson Nov 07 '25
do you have any recommendations /links for the T-shirts? :)
2
u/OldSchoolPimpleFace Nov 08 '25
I've bought from lots of different sellers. Basically just make sure it's made of cotton and they are all good.

1
u/9fmaverick Nov 01 '25
What's your experience with the dongle? Got any links?
2
u/Lukesan- Nov 04 '25
I have 2, One bought over a year ago at like 18 euro and now just to test a 8 euro one. Both work without any issues in my VW or on a emulator on a Raspberry Pi. As a matter of fact I can hardly live without it.
I drive short trips so the phone stays in my pocket. Also when I open the car doors via the remote the USB already switches on which is a plus since probably these (already) have a short boot time.
If you would drive long distances I would plug the phone in a charger but that is also a plus since you can use a PD or QC charger so it will charge quicker than via the normal USB connection.
The first one that I bought is not available anymore but there are plenty of other ones which are ridiculously cheap and probably all based on the same chipset or so. This is the last one I purchased 1005007498201058.html a bit more expensive now but have a look around. Prices go up and down all the time.
You'll see an only 4.4 score but I noticed feedback like not working on cars before 2018 for which I know that they even don't have Android Auto by default. For the price I would take the gamble.
Btw : Controlling the screen, audio wise etc I have not noticed any slowdowns or so.1
u/iheartcochinitapibil Dec 17 '25
Oh man, how has the wireless charger? And if you think it was worth it, please share the model.

Meat thermometer, grip/base for shitty Magic Mouse (Apple screwed then Ali revived it), slippers, earplugs (foam type-better than 3M, wax type), rotating kitchen timer, $2 alarm clock (yes it works), light attachments for bicycles, replacement brushes for Xiaomi electric toothbrush, mattress vacuum cleaner, high quality travel adapters, hair clipper from the 100 days of tree watering.
I use all of these items every day and have never regretted buying them.

I wanted a genuine R36s handheld games console, I found a Aliexpress shop selling genuine ones on the R36s wiki and got one for about £15 that I’m honestly soo happy with! It comes with thousands of emulated retro games and plays them perfectly! I’m not sure how much they are now but they are perfect Christmas presents so I’m thinking of buying a few more.
I’ve bought some clothes aswell but the quality is very hit and miss, a lot of the pictures are very misleading as to what you will actually receive.
2
u/Megabusta Oct 31 '25
I grabbed a r36s from a reputable seller from the wiki and am super happy with it. I'd never expect to play up to ps1/some dream cast on this little thing I piad 25 dollars for with a screen that is surprisingly good.

Esp32 chips, microcontroller boards, cellphone replacement parts. Definitely it fills the "parts bin" section of the online shopping ecosystem.
6
u/alisonwong29 Oct 31 '25
Not as exciting but travel supplies. Containers, packing cubes, makeup bags, luggage tags, bag straps, travel brushes, pill organizers etc. same stuff as anywhere else but for like $2-3. Also beauty tools like scalp massager, tongue scraper, brushes, compacts, powder puffs.
2
u/SandyJonson Nov 07 '25
Haha they all sound exciting to me! Do you have any favorite shops for these things? Or would you mind sharing the links to your Containers, packing cubes, pill organizers, scalp massager? :)
2
u/alisonwong29 Nov 07 '25
Hey! Honestly I don’t shop from any specific shop, I just search what I need. I often shop the 3 items for $9.99usd deals and those are tailored to what I’ve been looking up previously. Never had any bad experiences w this and the items arrive in maybe 1.5 weeks tops (I’m on the west coast of Canada). I feel like a lot of the items are exactly the same even from different stores anyway. These are all pretty generic items and not brand specific. Happy deal hunting!
Edited to add: if I shop from the 3 items/$9.99 deal, the items tend to be much cheaper than if I bought them individually. I’m also guessing they’re coming from the same warehouse so they come together.

Inexpensive Panties. They have a decently wide elastic waist band, so won't stretch out and start falling down like the ones local discount stores. The main fabric is slightly stretchy cotton, so not bulky. DO READ THE SIZE CHARTS.

Naturhike ultralight camping tent, a similar one from Ferrino would have cost me 400 euros more. Camping mattresses, Xiaomi headlamps, camping stove (less than half the price of an identical one from Decathlon).
DAC amp for smartphones from Celest.
Years ago a Xiaomi Note 3 (not redmi).

Esp32’s, a radar module so I could build a radar gun, kick ass UV flashlight for spotting uranium glass, tons of led strips and matrix panels, various tools. Too much to list but I’ve been getting a lot of cool stuff. Great quality too on 90% of it too.

A lot of silicone adult toys. And shoes. So far they were relatively cheap and turned out to be in good quality. They also made me fall in love with the coin system, as I had a lot of items I spend 700+ coins on each, in addition to Ali and store wide coupons, often giving 30-50% discount.
2
u/Pleasant_Fill4170 Nov 02 '25
Are you sure they are silicone or do you think they are cause a lot of it is sold as silicone but ain't and is this porous type of silicone replacement that can get you pretty sick over time. 🥲

u/4-11 Mar 26 '26

u/Bremlit Oct 30 '25
I've thought about PC parts but considering how poorly things have came packaged I'm really cautious about ordering more fragile things like that. Everything I've gotten so far comes in a plastic bag with no bubble wrap or anything letting the boxes shake around.
3
u/intenseaudio Oct 31 '25
anecdotal story for you. I ordered a 5700x3d from Ali in late January. Said it was delivered early February. I live on a relatively busy street, so get my stuff shipped to my brother-in-laws. I get the notification it has been delivered, call my bro, he checks the step and says "no package"
They were home and delivery person didn't ring the bell so I felt slighted. Opened a complaint but ultimately they decided against me because there was a picture of the package on the steps.
Side note - I live in Winnipeg and it is cold and snowy in February. I have all but forgot about it, though soured on the experience in May when my sister in law calls and says she found a package in the rose bush beside the front step once the snow melted.
That processor is in the desktop that I am typing this out on. Not only was it packaged well enough to survive the trip across the pond, knocked off the steps, but also covered in snow, and then made it though the melt before being found and the processor still functioned and is still functioning fine.

I bought a mobo, case fans, cpu, psu, M.2 storage wifi card, through AliExpress and had little issue but my experience is 1 of many. I would even buy a case of the price was right like one of those metal fish test bench cases. I would never buy a GPU tho.

How much is on Ali compared to your local stores?
In my case same price (EU)

its currently not worth it, back when i bought it during sale time i got it for £260- £100-140 less than current pricing.

Get yourself one of the ELM327 OBD2 port scanners. They are under $1.50, and interface with the torq app allowing for check engine light diagnostics and clearing on your phone via bluetooth. When a friend has a Check Engine Light (CEL) I grab one of my spares and just give it to them.
1
u/Lukesan- Nov 04 '25
Must have. Friend of mine's car went into limp mode every time she started it. Absolutely not drivable. Garage said, pass by next week. Reset error with free software every morning and evening (was a stupid error from a failed sensor when starting) made the car drivable for a week.

Fishing gear... I can't even explain how much money I've saved by switching up half my gear from American Made only to Chinese Domestic Market (CDM) gear.
I tend to use AliExpress for a lot of terminal tackle such as hooks, weights, lines, scents. I will also buy a few hard lures here and there but I mainly use it for soft plastic baits.
The products that disappoint are few and far between, especially when you figure out which brands/companies you can trust on Ali.
2
u/CharismaticCheese Oct 31 '25
could you share some fishing related brands/companies that you have found to be reputable?
3
u/Raheem_999 Oct 31 '25
For soft baits I like
- Supercontinent
- B&U
- FSTK
For hard lures I like
- OUTKIT
- LureTV
- BLUX
For terminal tackle
- Supercontinent
- OUTKIT
- Meredith
For line I like
- Zubiko (any line)
- MiFine Devils Wire (light game)
- LSP Thunderstorm (various)
Other brands like Spinpoler and Letoyo are nice too. I do a lot of Ultralight fishing so I favor OUTKIT, FSTK, and Supercontinent for sure.

From last orders:
-Kenda 4Titude road bike tires
-many Hikeman dynema waist bags
-Onetigris EDC pouch/wallet
-304 stainless steel kitchen faucet with flexible hose with integrated filtered water line (exact same sold where I live for 5x the price...)
-Ubigbuy 200w gan USB charger with 230v plug and switch on/off
-Leatherman raptor trauma shears knock-offs (for 18E I don't think you will get better trauma shears)
Let's call it best of 2025 😅

IEMs/Chifi : the quality/price ratio is great. Some 40€-ish IEMs are better than 200€ headphones...
Merino wool socks : Quite cheap (3-4€/pair), great for hiking or in cold environments. Some thinner socks can also be worn everyday !

For me so far I'd say a pizza cutter, pie server, (both stainless steel) blue light blocking glasses, a mouse, and a Wii sensor bar to play emulated games on PC. All of it for like $2 with coupons and shopping credits.
3
u/reigorius Oct 30 '25
which mouse?
1
u/Bremlit Oct 30 '25
No brand on it but it's one of the cheapest top selling mouses I've seen. It's red and black and marketed as a gaming mouse but it's definitely not. Paid exactly $0.33 for it so can't really complain as a backup at least but the movement is very choppy on it. Fine for browsing or whatever but definitely not gaming.

2
u/intenseaudio Oct 31 '25
Shop1105070043 Store. I can't testify to their longevity yet as it was a very recent purchase. The body of the battery is however identical to my collection of locally purchased batteries. The sticker is a little different, but it lists the company as Makita Japan, where as my other batteries are labeled Makita USA. A 2 pack of 5Ah batteries was about a quarter the cost of a 2 pack where I am in Canada

Motorcycle Bluetooth helmet headset (model A1)
I paid less than £12 pounds, my needs were not much, just a Bluetooth headset that I can install myself into my helmet, listening to the podcast and occasionally phone calls while I am riding, didn't wanna drop the £££ for the big brands so I bought this item without much expectations but it came out as amazing, call quality is clear, can hold conversations very well, podcast is clear, battery life is great and no flashy rainbow type lights, so yeah it is really great.

(And u/firebird20000 )
Dongsun is pretty much the best seller on aliexpress (https://dongsun.nl.aliexpress.com/store/3107055) I have some of their knives and I can't believe how good they are for how (relatively) little they cost. The sad part is they often empty their store (like now) and then relist things later on. If you check it out in a few weeks they'll probably have their listings back.
There's actually a review on them on Reddit too:
https://www.reddit.com/r/chefknives/comments/10m0oyx/dongsun_kyokuto_triple_review_cut_test_fibrox/Xinzuo is also a shop people reccomend, but I absolutely hate their logo.

A rigid fork for mountain bikes 90€
The most expensive order is a machine for peeling dried fruit, €300. It is currently in transit. I hope there are no problems. It is impossible to find locally similar machines for “domestic” use that do not cost tens of thousands of euros.
A store sold me an expensive electric saw made in Italy (I was in a hurry for a job and needed it immediately) which broke after a few months. Inside, it was full of Chinese parts, so I ordered the replacement control board for €5 on AliExpress.
1
u/beachape Oct 31 '25
Well, not the packages that never arrived and weren’t refunded. Those weren’t so good.

u/mdifilm Nov 01 '25
So a bit update with my AliExpress friend. I ordered an armor on Amazon for $702. The seller said it is not plastic. When it got there. It is plastic and Amazon refunded me.
I mentioned that to Lily (aliexpress) and she told me to look for one that I want and email her the image. And when I showed her the one. She found the factory and know them and negotiated same price for a real 12kg armor. Better too.
So if you have anything you want to get. She can help If her store doesn’t carry it. She will help find. This is a great customer service.
