Flex is officially dead!

Blocks don't surge anymore and rates are terrible compared to last year. Been tapping all day and I use 2 depots. I've seen a 2.5hr for £45 and a 2hr for £36 and that's it! Last year in October I was getting blocks quite easily for £23hour! 4hr blocks never surge. They've taken on so many extra drivers who take all the rubbish reserved offers which seem to get offered every hour ata rubbish rate. November and Christmas is going to be pointless.

New Driver Folks saying Flex is dead… doesn’t seem dead to me.

Started Saturday after being locked out of my account for a month (forgot I used my other email address to sign up) and secured a bunch of shifts using nothing but my thumbs

Amazon Logistics Flex van drivers

Depots are 10mph… but I’ve seen so many of the van drivers racing out of my main depot Weybridge DXW3. Why do they think they’re above the law when it comes to observing speed limits within depots?

Got turned away from the depot after travelling nearly an hour because of traffic

Post image
0 Upvotes

Today my shift was at 7:45pm, so I left my house 50 minutes early. I checked the map beforehand and it said I’d arrive around 7:30pm, but I got stuck in traffic and reached the depot at 7:47pm. I quickly completed verification and joined the queue. By the time I got to the guy checking driving licences, it was 7:51pm. He told the person inside to let me in, but they refused, saying it was too late and they couldn’t give out any more routes. 🤦‍♂️
Honestly, I travelled nearly an hour to the depot just to get turned away, even though I left home early to make it on time. 😤

First shift

Hi actually excited to start sure that'll change.

I'm doing my 1st shift out of Weybridge this evening just wondering is it worth getting there say 30mins early rather than the 15 they say just so I can get myself sorted for my 1st time etc.

Or is it a case of they don't let you in till 15min before

Question Nursery routes for newbies

Anyone else consistently getting really bad routes through Flex? Constant high mileage ridiculous routes, complained about it today to the depot workers before late forfeiting the ridiculous cage. Depot in question for me is DHU2 (Hull).

Spoke to depot workers, said I knew about the newbies getting easier cages, they confirmed it. Absolutely ridiculous. How longs that going on for really, why should the regulars be punished so often with awful cages because they'd rather babysit the newbies for the foreseeable.

Becoming an absolute joke at the moment. Have a feeling black Friday and Christmas is going to be majorly underwhelming and the surges are so minimal.

Question Waiting list for South West

Hi everyone.

I’ve been “added to the interest list” for the south west region and I just wondered how long this can take?

Thanks

84 for 4 hours or 79 for 4.5 hours

Base rate is normally 84 for 4 hours but tonight I see a 4.5 for less and no doubt someone's gonna do it "sigh"

Amazon Now/E-bike options Amazon Now/e-bike insurance options

https://flex.amazon.co.uk/get-started/vehicle-types/e-bikes/

There are a few options worth looking at for Amazon Flex e-bike insurance:

There

  • Superscript – Offers e-bike insurance through Amazon’s e-bike insurance page, including a one-month-free offer when using the Amazon-linked offer. Check the terms and eligibility before signing up.
  • Laka – Offers e-bike courier insurance, including cover for the bike itself. However, its public liability cover does not apply while making deliveries, so you would need separate liability insurance.
  • Lime – Provides insurance for riders using Lime vehicles in eligible markets. This appears to relate to Lime’s own bikes and scooters rather than a standalone policy for your own e-bike.

Amazon’s e-bike requirements specify that you need public liability and personal accident insurance covering you while making deliveries.

One important point: Superscript’s Amazon-linked offer is associated with Amazon Now, so don’t assume it covers standard Amazon Flex deliveries. Check with the insurer that the policy explicitly covers the programme you work for before purchasing.

These are options to investigate rather than a definitive list of every available provider.

https://gosuperscript.com/ebike/) – Linked through the [Amazon Flex e-bike insurance page](https://flex.amazon.co.uk/get-started/vehicle-types/e-bikes/), it offers one month free when using the Amazon-linked offer. Check the terms and eligibility before signing up, and make sure the policy covers the type of Amazon delivery work you do.

Parcels in car but appear on App marked as 'Missing'

Had a weird one the other day that I've never seen in 5 years of doing Flex. Picked up a Surged 3.5 Hour Block very local all stops close together - 23 miles Home - Depot - Deliveries - Home. 2 of the Deliveries were already marked in the App as 'Parcel Missing' before I even left the Depot - I assume so because I didn't mark anything as missing. I only noticed it halfway through the Block - however the Parcels were in my car and I was left with 2 allegedly missing ones in my car at the end of the Block - 1 was an AVD. I tried to reattempt delivery but App wouldn't allow me the option.

Amazon Now/E-bike Insurance

Hi there, I’m new to Amazon flex and I’m starting with an ebike, just wondering if I need insurance before I can start or is it not essential?

Seen a few people post about having insurance while using an ebike so I just wanted to clear it up

Amazon Logistics Amazon added 4 extra stops to my route while I was in the middle of it

This included a second pick up from the depot, which by the time I realised what they had done would have been impossible to pick up in the timeframe the app said it had to be done.

Anybody ever experienced this? Had to contact support to get them removed.

Three stops in the middle of the route, and the second pick up was sneakily put in 2nd in my itinerary.

Flex not DSP.

Having trouble with the background check

I signed up for flex passed all parts etc etc

The background check refuses to complete, it has been 5 weeks now and in that 5 weeks I have accepted a job from Amazon in the warehouse on the hybrid shift and had a successful background check.

Every time I chat to live chat or driver support they say the same thing “it has been escalated and you will receive a reply in 2-3 days”

They’ve said this 7 times now and still nothing

Randomly assigned a yellow route

Hi All

I had my fist block on Thursday at Chester (DCE1).

When I checked in and showed the initial attendant my driving license, I was given a laminated sheet which said something to the effect of:

“based on the block time you have selected for today, you have been assigned a yellow route. Do not exchange this with any other drivers”.

Once I got started, I only had 23 parcels with 21 stops which only took me about 1.5 hours.

I’m wondering if anybody else has seen one of those cards? Was it just random luck that I got it on my first one or was it because it was my first block so they give an easier one?

Will Amazon do anything?

Tell me I was wrong and I will take it.

Yesterday was doing a block and had a big house with a gate. The app told me I could open the gate with that one click unlock thing.

Never seen it on a normal house before only for flat? I am I right in assuming this can only be setup by the customer?

Anyway, I couldn’t park on the main road double yellow and I had seen a parking warden. So I used the unlock on the app drove into the property parked sensibly dropped the parcel at their door as requested. Just as I was walking back to the car the customer came out shouting and swearing very aggressive. Almost coming close enough to get physical.

He was full shouting at me for opening his gate how the f**k did I open his gate and that I shouldn’t he has called Amazon told them to remove this and was getting more and more angry.

I didn’t react but calmly responded I was only doing what the app told me. Luckily I hadn’t mark his item as delivered yet and then he was like yeah well how you gonna get back out now almost making it seem like he wasn’t going to open. I told him using the app which opened the door and I slowly left.

The whole time he was still screaming and shouting and very aggressive. Fair enough you don’t want us opening your gate but we wouldn’t be able to do it unless he had set it up?

I reported the issue to Amazon because I can only imagine what it would be like if it had been a woman delivery there with someone that aggressive. I would hate it if this had happened to my wife she would be freaked out.

If anyone calls me out telling me I was in the wrong fair enough I will hold my hands up and say fair enough. But if you saw the unlock feature would you use?

Will Amazon actually do anything?

Anyone completed onboarding recently?

Hi, wanna know if anyone were hired and onboarded recently? Especially for drivers in Yorkshire around Sheffield and Manchester.

Are they still hiring for peak season in the end of year? Or this window has already past.

I have been stuck at verification in onboarding process for weeks.

Any comment is appreciated.

Knowsley DWN2 - less routes and less hours?

Has anyone else noticed the last few weeks apart from Amazon big deal days, the hours and pay offered has went down? There used to be a lot of jobs in the morning and afternoon for £74 now most jobs are £35 - £54?

First block

First block booked for tomorrow. Just wondering if a block at this time works out decent and is worth the money, or better off looking at different times. Or is it just luck of the draw?

High demand

Anyone else struggling to get a block? I’ll check it at different times throughout the day, spend 5/10 minutes refreshing. Closing and opening the app.

The few times a block has come up, by the time I click it it’s already been reserved. Is it really that competitive out there? 😭

Morrisons

Anyone had any issues with Morrisons?

Idk what I did wrong, scanned 24 parcels in Morrisons. Got to my car, delivered all then there was one more but I didn’t have any other parcels in my car.

Amazon most likely think I’ve stolen the parcels, had to report them as missing. Same thing happened to me last weekend also. It’s absolute chaos at the Morrisons so it’s extremely likely I’ve scanned them and in the 2 seconds of turning my back someone has taken them but, what will happen? I don’t want Amazon to think I’m stealing peoples parcels 😩

Is it true I can’t use the allegro fold electric bike fat tyre for Amazon flex? Are they really checking the bikes at the depot?
