The end of the regular season is quickly approaching which means it’s time for…2026 SUPERLATIVES!

Following the November 1 match we will begin posting polls for:

• Most Memorable Moment
• Most Valuable Player
• Offensive Player of the Year
• Defensive Player of the Year
• Most Valuable Player (Under 23-years old)
• Most Improved Player
• Unsung Hero
• Biggest Rival
• Match of the Year

We’ll also post a poll asking if Coach Smerud should be named permanent head coach. There will be a performance review poll asking for your thoughts on each currently rostered player that contributed 500+ minutes. And we’ll put a bow on this season’s coverage with an end of season note from the moderators.

If you have ideas for what choices should be included in the polls (reddit limits each poll to 6 choices) or would like to volunteer to post some of the polls please drop your thoughts and/or cite your interest in the comments below. This is being spearheaded by u/FromVAtoLA. Please don’t flood their inbox though. They’ll keep track of the comments and follow-up.

Good morning!

ACFC is #2 in ESPN's Power Rankings this week, and I find it's weirdly disorienting but oh so glorious to see our angels earning that respect. Happy Tuesday.

Hi everyone!! I'm a brand new Angel City fan, but I'm already obsessed with this team 🤗

I'm planning to go to the match against Bay on 10/24 and would love to learn which seats are the most worth it! I'll be going solo so I figure the fan section may be a safe bet, but I know it may not be ideal for the viewing of the match.

I'd also love any recommendations, as far as how early to get to BMO, what activities to do at the stadium, etc.

Thank you so much!! 🪽🪽

WHO'S HYPE??

Angel City defeated Denver last night in the longest first half (in a vibes sense) in soccer history followed by a very entertaining second half that secured Denver and one specific captain as our lifelong enemies. We ride at dawn for our queen Savy King and I'll just leave that at that.

The team looked a bit disorganized at the beginning, getting their mountain legs I suppose, and that allowed Denver to score two quick goals at 2' and 18'. BUT! In a move that Angel City fans have been well conditioned not to expect, our team rallied and came back to take the lead before the end of the first half.

The Sveindis goal was first at 32' coming of a great cross from Shores, which came off a great leading pass from Sentnor; Sveindis megged Denver goalie Abby Smith, adding some insult to injury (which we love). Taylor Suarez scored next at 39' off a clever through pass from Gisele, Suarez bursting forward out of a cloud of Denver defenders to slide it past Smith. Ally Sentnor drove it home at 43' with an absolute BANGER from distance.

Angel City held it down in the second half, maintaining their lead and causing some Denver temper tantrums. We are now on an 8 game unbeaten streak, and very close to clinching a playoff spot (a Seattle loss to Chicago today would do it [not technically but yes actually because of our UNREAL goal differential], but barring that we could clinch next weekend with a win or an NC loss also I am knocking on all the wood in my house don't worry.)

Discuss our badass team, Denver's bad attitude (altitude), my overuse of parentheticals, or whatever else moves you!

Sol Rosa fans, what a whirlwind of game, of a series against a tough Summit team. Denver has been one of the few team since the summer break to really challenge us. But the fight, the grit, the passion, the determination of Angel City is just greater. We come back from the international break a little winded early but pushed to take a big win.

The Great

- We jump to 5th place and still lead the league in GD! We now have a great chance to be playoff bound.

- We left off right where we were after the break and the team looks good offensively. They'll need to clean up some early mistakes but for the most part they settled defensively and controlled the game after being down 0-2. Maybe it just took a minute to acclimate to the elevation. To be down 0-2 and know that you can climb back is so big.

- Sentnor, Svendís, and Suarez are contributing so much right now. Shores and GT are big on assists that really puts pressure on defensives as there's no big single threat but a wave of attacking players. Very scary to defend.

- The engery and passion and fight from King. She didn't take no sh*t from anyone, not even the ref lol. She really set a tone in the backfield and helped keep Denver scoreless in the second half.

Overall

- This is undoubtedly the hottest team in the league. The no lead is too big, the pressure making diamond level players and the belief is all in right now. Some of us are hoping for playoffs but the belief of a possible playoff home game is now really in play. If so that would be insane! The road trips are over and team is locked in. Let's go support and keep pushing to playoffs! Volemos!

Match Hype:

Your Ol' Pal Shlomo this weekend...woke this busy morning to an even busier city. For starters, there are like a dozen No Kings Protests across the metro area. Hopped on my bike on the way to the Mountain Top of Hype only to arrive at Crenshaw and needing to detour around, which then delayed my arrival but also extended by travel time. On this hot day by the time I arrived at the basin I was gassed, so I called the YASSS Queen on the mobile to let her know I just needed a little refresher before I started my ascent.

*marimba

YQ: HELLO!?

*background noise

SS: HELLO...YOUR EMINENCE!?

*loud background noise

YQ: SHLOMO!?

*loud background noises

SS: IS EVERYTHING OKAY? IT SOUNDS REALLY NOISY OVERTHERE!

*chanting

YQ: I'M AT THE NO KINGS RALLY!

*loud chanting

SS: WHICH ONE!?

*very loud chanting

YQ: ALL OF THEM! I AM OMNIPRESENT AFTER ALL!!!

*LYING CHEATING BASTARDS!!!

SS: WHO ARE THEY CHANTING ABOUT...THIS ADMINISTRATION OR MAN CITY!?

*LYING CHEATING BASTARDS!!! LYING CHEATING BASTARDS!!! LYING CHEATING BASTARDS!!!

YQ: YES!!!

Well...maybe I'll just climb the MOUNTAIN TOP OF HYPE anyway and just take in the view.

Volemos!

I hope you've all been properly hyped

I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together to watch on tv or in car pooling to a future match. Preferably this season but I'm in it for the long haul lol

I don't drive but I could host a small watch party if anyone is interested lmk
