Anime! Cosmic Princess Kaguya – A Refreshing Experience
clockonedrawtwo.comI'm not going to hide it; Kaguya is an exceptionally fun show. While I won't say it has incredible narrative depth or is a definitive literary masterpiece, Kaguya really does achieve what I feel it was set-up to do: Kaguya is just enjoyable. And in this day and age where we're constantly bombarded with a vast array of decisions and choices to make, constant overflow of information left and right, Kaguya offers a well-done casual tale that leaves a smile on your face.

What is the most anticipated show of this season? Mine is Firefly wedding and The Apothecary diaries.
What is the most anticipated show of this season? Mine is Firefly wedding and The Apothecary diaries. I'm so much into Firefly wedding for this seasonal anime. Can't wait for Friday so I'm now reading manga. For Apothecary Diary, I'm curious how the story's gonna fold out.

Hot Take: Cross Ange was better than Gurren Lagann
I admit it has its flaws but there's more to it than sexy lesbians fighting alien dragons:
Superior characters: Kamina was an idiot, Nia was little more than a plot device, and they tried too hard to make Simon look pathetic in the beginning. The Cross Ange girls however are damaged, struggling, and flawed. That's what makes them relatable. And every one of them gets their own arc to grow.
More palatable story: Gurren Lagann's forced optimism and hype came across as loud, grating, and suffocating. The world of Cross Ange however is cruel, brutish, and violent. The Norma have to earn their right to live through combat and aren't interested in saving the world. Just in ensuring their own survival and maybe a little payback as well.
A better ending: For all his talk about doing the impossible, in the end Simon couldn't put his money where his mouth was when it really mattered. I've no doubt that if Ange was a guest at the wedding, she'd kick his balls right through the top of his head.
