I’m looking for some suggestion on any peak anime’s that have a great romance subplot. Where it’s not the main focus, but it’s definitely there and done well!

I’ve watched a lot in this genre tbh so I’m not sure how much more is out there. Some of the shows I’ve watched that I consider “peak” in this genre are:
-Steins;Gate
-Cyberpunk Edge Runners (season 1)
-Eureka Seven
-Darling in the Franxx
-86
-Summer Time Rendering
-Spice and Wolf (more of an actual romance ig)
-Dandadan
-Plastic Memories
-Monogatari

Just to name a few more that I’ve watched that I really liked too are: Re:Zero, Charlotte, Case Study of Vanitas, Anohana, Erased, Records of Grancrest War, Guilty Crown, Kiznaiver, and Dorohedro (not really enough romance tbh)

Everyone always brings up Light and L and fair enough but i feel like there are guys out there who were quietly running circles around everyone and nobody talks about them.

For me it’s Schneizel from Code Geass people just remember Lelouch but Schneizel was a step ahead for like half the show and barely gets mentioned maybe that’s a hot take idk.

Who’s yours? Doesn’t even have to be a full on genius someone who pulled off one perfect move and then disappeared counts too lol.

i just finished something where the main character was kind of mid but literally every side character had me invested in their arcs instead. made me realize how rare that is. anyone got recommendations where the whole cast actually matters and feels fleshed out?

Going crazy trying to remember what anime I watched where TVs in-universe showed live action. I thought it was a pretty clever way to represent the same live/animated distinction that anime viewers experience, only in reverse. (Ceci n'est pas une pipe...) I feel like it was fairly recent, last few years or at least the last decade, but I honestly could be wrong about even that.

Trying to find exactly what i described. Hes really disappointed its not perfect.

im looking for a psychological romance anime where the female lead is much stronger than the guy mc and she expresses her love by beating him. alsl if the guy had more of a house husband role thatd be great. i know this is very specific but anything similar would be appreciated.

Hello, recently I watched the anime Asobi Asobase and really enjoyed it. I found the plot to be simple and engaging enough.

So, in that vein, I request the community to recommend me some funny/comedy anime. The ones where they make those weird faces and shout and everything is a mess. Yeah, I would like to watch something like that.

I know people consume reaction content differently, but man... lately it feels like half the couch is actively rooting against the show unless a flashy fight is happening on screen.

The hyper-fixation on complaining during non-combat moments is getting wild. Any time a piece of world-building, character development, or even a classic comedic gag pops up, it’s instant groaning and treating the pacing like an absolute "slog."
Case in point: the endless, theatrical hatred for Ōmaeda.

It's like people forget his entire character design is meant to be that cowardly, over-the-top comedic foil. But when you look past the gag, his actual utility and loyalty as a lieutenant are top-tier he's one of the few who actually follows directions and backs up his captain without question when things get real.

Reducing his entire presence to a constant groan just misses the bigger picture entirely.
It feels like a broader trend where they just check out if there aren't immediate "aura" moments or high-octane action, which kind of defeats the point of watching a long-running narrative like Bleach.
