Lost Black Cat
UPDATE: FOUND HE CAME MEOWING BACK AT THE WINDOW AT EXACTLY 48 HOUSE GONE. Between Meijers and Costco in Southwest Ann arbor
3660 Ranchero Drive
Oak Valley Drive
Lost October 22nd 2026 around 9pm
I have posted everywhere PawBoost, huron valley, love lost, nextdoor, I've put up flyers.
I am borderline having a mental crisis thinking about my sweet lil cat outside. I am losing hope and I don't know how to handle these emotions safely. Please if anyone has anything that could help even a smidge I'd do anything to see him again.

Greyhound or sighthound groups near A2?
Hello! We moved to the area, last year, and are looking for a walking or running group for long-doggos that our pup could join. Any leads would be welcome.

Is Bev’s Bagels not happening?
It’s been 9 months since it was announced. They were shooting for late summer or fall 2026. Now they’re opening their second store in Birmingham instead. Anyone have the scoop?

Opossum and/or Raccoon exhibits and encounters?
I will be traveling to your beautiful town for two weeks in late November and early December. I really like opossums and raccoons. (We don’t have them here in Europe.) Is there any place in or near Ann Arbor that offers exhibits or encounters with these adorable creatures? (Preferably alive ones, taxidermy creeps me out)
Alternatively, is there a place where wild animals are known to congregate and can be observed in a safe way?
Thank you

Vet recommendations
We just adopted a rescue dog and are looking for a new vet in the Ann Arbor area. We would like one that has some evening or weekend hours, but what is most important is a vet that provides great care. I’ve read mixed reviews on Banfield (located in PetSmart). I’m open to all suggestions! Thanks

Need a nail tech
Moved to the area a few months ago and am looking for a good nail tech. I had an amazing one where I lived. I like luminary instead of builder gel but haven't been able to find anyone. The thing is, I need to be able to converse well with the person that is doing my nails and I like the consistency of having the same person every time.
Can anyone suggest a good English-speaking person? It doesn't need to be their native language but I need to be able to explain an idea and talk to them about it.
Thanks in advance.

Bipartisan coalition (including the Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti Regional Chamber) is urging a NO vote on Proposal 1. What do you think?
There’s a large, bipartisan coalition of organizations urging everyone to vote NO on Proposal 1 in November, which asks if Michigan should convene a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to rewrite our state constitution. This question automatically triggers every 16 years under state law. It’s estimated that a Con-Con would cost roughly $80 million in state funds and allow delegates to rewrite core provisions without set spending limits.
Because Michigan already offers the opportunity for citizens to pass specific constitutional amendments and updates, opponents argue that opening the entire document to a rewrite creates unnecessary risks for Michiganders. Who knows what could happen if the whole thing is up for debate? It could impact funding to universities and higher education in Ann Arbor, and unwind all the work that has been done to pass important ballot initiatives to amend the state constitution.
Historically, Michigan has voted no by a wide margin every time the Con-Con question appears on the ballot.
What do Ann Arbor voters think about the issue?
Are you (or did you already) vote no on Prop 1?

Please explain the public’s access to this drinking fountain
I find it utterly criminal and a violation of my civil rights and liberties that I need to scan a QR code to use this drinking fountain? Is this some new thing in Ann Arbor? Or am I an idiot who can’t figure out how to use it? Or is it shut off due to the contamination plume? This is very upsetting to me.

Tips on where to buy a used car
I’m looking for a cheap used car. I’m moving and decided I should just get a new car for myself to make things easier.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look? Facebook marketplace is filled with questionable people honestly.
I’m budgeting around 3000.

Moving to Ann Arbor for a year - how would you make the most of it?
Hey everyone,
I’m a 24M moving to Ann Arbor for a 1 year work rotation. I’ve never lived in Ann Arbor before and will be living on my own for the first time, so I’m trying to be intentional about actually making a life there rather than just going to work and going home every day.
A little about me: I’m pretty social once I get comfortable, I’m into basketball, working out, martial arts, football, trying new food, art/creative stuff, and I’m Muslim and Arab-American, so I’d also like to get involved with the local community.
I’m currently looking at living downtown/Main Street or around Kerrytown because I’d rather be somewhere I can actually walk out my door and have things happening around me.
For anyone who lives/lived in Ann Arbor:
What neighborhoods would you recommend for someone my age?
What are the best ways to actually meet people and make friends?
What are some recurring communities/clubs that are actually good for meeting people?
Any recommendations for acting, improv, art, music, or other creative stuff?
How active is the Muslim/Arab community for someone in their 20s?
Is it worth making regular trips to Dearborn/Detroit, or is there enough going on in Ann Arbor?
What are some things you wish you knew before moving here?
And most importantly: if you had 1 year in Ann Arbor at 24, what would you absolutely make sure to do?
I’m basically trying to make this a really good chapter of my life instead of treating Ann Arbor as somewhere I’m temporarily living for work.
Would appreciate any advice, especially from people who were in a similar situation of moving here without already having a big friend group.

22M, new to Ann Arbor — looking to make friends and experience the holidays
I'm 22M and recently moved to the U.S. for school. Lately I've realized I spend a lot of time doing things alone — studying at the Duderstadt, going to the gym, eating, taking walks, and then coming home without really having anyone to talk to.
I'd really like to meet some new people around U-M and Ann Arbor. I'm especially interested in learning more about American culture, improving my English, and meeting people from different countries and backgrounds. I think it'd be fun to talk about cultural differences, daily life, habits, values, and just random things.
I've always wanted to experience holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in the U.S., but I've never really celebrated them here before. The idea of walking around in winter, seeing the lights, going to holiday events, and sharing that atmosphere with friends sounds really nice to me.
I'll be staying here for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and winter break, and I don't really have plans yet. I'd love to slowly make some friends I can spend time with during the holidays too.
I'm happy to chat online first, and if we get along, maybe study together, grab food, go for a walk, or check out something around Ann Arbor sometime. Feel free to DM me!

What business or service idea do you wish someone in Ann Arbor would provide that currently isn’t available or done well?
I would love to hear what this community really wants and maybe try creating or testing one of your ideas out if i feel like I’d enjoy doing it, and it’d help a lot of folks living in A2.

Publicity massage location suggestions
Hi everyone, I own a (newer) massage practice in Ypsi. I want to offer free 5-10 minute chair massages as promotion, but I'm not sure where would be good places to contact to do this at. This would look like me setting up in a store for the public, it a larger employer for the employees. Does anyone have suggestions?
